I bought one of John's chest rigs and used it at Owensboro today. It is comfortable, light and handy. I hit every reload. I am sold. Will run this next at the PanAm 3 gun next week. Dave

Car & cart is a good combo. They use the bays for 4/5 stages (cart) and then go to Doe Valley for a stage or two (car down the hill). Look at the PanAm 3 gun 4th of July weekend at Rockcastle if your schedule permits. 10 stages/3 days/ $80 entry fee. Gary Welborn is MD. I suspect this will be a super match. Dave

Dave 2013 Pan American 3-Gun Challenge July 4 -6, 2013 at Rockcastle Shooting Center Welcome to the 2013 Pan American 3 Gun Challenge, July 4-6, 2013, at the Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, Kentucky, USA. When we figured out that more than 14 countries would be represented at the 2013 IPSC Pan American Shotgun Championship at the Rockcastle Shooting Center this June, we figured it was the perfect time to create an “American Style” 3 Gun event the following weekend, and the Pan American 3 Gun Challenge was born. For those who have not been to the Rockcastle Shooting Center, there is a hotel on site at Park Mammoth Resort, along with a restaurant, and other shooting activities like sporting clays. Rental guns are available. The hotel rooms are first come, first serve, so give us a call as soon as possible to make your reservations. Other hotels are available just 5 miles away in Cave City, Kentucky and 20 miles away in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Look at the menu on the left of the page to find Official Match Invitations and to print US From 6NIA if you intend to bring your own guns into the US. Stage design and round count will be coming to this site soon. This is an exciting opportunity for all. Great fun at the match today. Air was very moist but it was warm. Stages were well laid out. Breakfast buffet was superb and the mammoth burger was just right! Dave

Can't tell you about housing/schools as I live downriver. Shooting: -you can shoot USPSA every weekend within about an hours drive. (silver creek, south central, bluegrass, owensboro, rockcastle) -Owensboro (orpci.org) and Wilmore (bgslinc.org?) are a tad further for pistol and 3 gun. -Rockcastle is probably an hour and a half for pistol and 3 gun. -Silver Creek and Bluegrass both host monthly steel matches also. -There is IDPA at Bluegrass also. Great match- more fun than about anything. I took the Katie Harris class the day before the match and it was very helpful. There were several pointers that were forehead slappers. (meaning I should have figured things out many matches ago). She had two helpers that seemed knowledgeable.....one was Kurt something and the other Trapr something Great bunch of folks in squad 8. We had great fun, saw some epic runs and some epic crashes. This match is a don't miss for next year. Dave

Mag extension, I like the factory chokes, big charging handle, do the dremel mods you can find here, have the lifter welded (if you want), shoot the crap out of it. The comb is replaceable. 3 heights are available from Remington. They were about $11. Go for it! Dave

The Rockcastle match will be excellent and a great place to wet your feet. There will be some big dogs but the majority will be "normal" folks. I would not sweat the size of the match. It will be 18 stages of great fun.
