  1. Good Videos...nice stages....fun time had by all.......only one problem...........I didnt go!!!!!! Next year!!!!
  2. Just heard about these bad boys and the reviews are top notch. Much cheaper than a Swaro. Is there any retailer that offers these? The ones that offer these on their websites declare "Shipped from vendor". I'd love to see one but can't buy sight unseen.
  3. I'd like to get an open shotgun for 3 gun and my buddy swears by R & R's Open Gun. I love the gun but its kind of pricey. I see on there web site they have a Tactical Model that doesnt have the compensator or scope base but is $700 less than the open version Does anybody have any experience with the Tactical version? Impressions? Oh and I tried finding a good used one for sale....there doesn't seem to be any.
  4. 3 of the 4 fired on the second strike...........had 2 more misfire from the same bag today at the practice range...1 of the 2 fired on the second try
  5. Last night I shot a match with my 40 cal using a recent batch of ammo I reloaded with Winchester small pistol primers. All of the rounds were case guaged and checked for primer depth. When I load my primers from the flip try I try to inspect for color and anvils but I dont always look real close. I had 4 misfires in the match! All of the rounds were inspected and had solid primer strikes and yes my gun is clean and the slide was all the way forward. Seeing as how the primers I used were purchased this year and after the component selling/hoarding madness had started can I assume that winchester is making conessions on quality control in favor of trying to keep up with demand. Any other similar experiences out there?
  6. Big thanks to everybody who made this happen! While last minute health issues made my scores a joke, I still had fun. The RO's were great, especially the pistol stage guys and the marines on the rifle stage (Loved that sniper talk!). Squad #14 was a pretty good group, and a big thanks to its hardest worker who wasn't even a shooter, Michele. I wont be able to do the world shoot thing next year (too much time and $$), but maybe in 2015 the regular RM3G will be back. Ok...time for practice...only 724 days left.
  7. Thanks to everybody who made this happen. I emjoyed RO'ing the Tunnels and Load 8 stages. I had to give very few reminders for squads to reset which is rare. Maybe Brian, Jomar, and Jay should have dueling trees on every stage next year?????..................maybe not. Well this Captain and Coke sure went down fast and has eased the pain in my legs a tad, but its bed time. See you at the range.
  8. The RO's shot 13 stages today...legs are aching. I think I will be on the "Load 8, shoot 8" stage. Say hello and remember the key to excellent shotgun shooting is......................pfffft...like I'd know.
  9. I have an order for VV powder and Winchester Primers from them, dated January 13....still waiting.
  10. You'd think I'd know this since I've owned the thing 10 years. I want to grease the under side of it. My only guess is to loosed the black bolt (I think its called the index bolt) but I thought I would check here first in case loosening it makes 100 springs fall out or something. I want to make sure I can put it back together too.
  11. I used to use it for 40 cal major in my glock before people told me it was an open poweder....no matter...I liked it just fine.
  12. All this bickering for a match that is 9 months away? Just have a match that has: A good time emphasized above all else A random draw, modest, or no even no prize table Everybody doing their part on stage reset This will act as magnet for most amateurs and a repellent for many (But not all) pros. If a big name shooter still wants to come ...fine...let them.
  13. Oh you guys are killing me...I get a 4 day weekend from work for Presidents Day a weekend too late. Are there any big presidents day weekend matches anywhere this year?
  14. Any chance there will be limited slots for shooters to shoot with RO's on Friday?...I might have to be home by Sunday.
  15. For this season I added new NC tube (holds 9) for Benelli M2. My buddy cut the NC spring so it matched his. The spring is long and pain to feed into the gun but 9 rounds loads very easy. At a match yesterday I had 2 rounds not fire(No primer hit and bolt was forward). Today I cleaneed/oiled barrel and bolt rails. Gun still fails to fire about every 15 rounds or so. I'm not soft shouldering it or failing to reset the trigger. I always use Estate Heavy Game ammo (3.25 dram) Can the spring length/tension affect my guns firing ability or has some hammer/firing pin/or other spring gone bad? I should have brought the old tube and spring to range and swapped it off and tested. Besides doing this any advice?
  16. Sorry..no...It would be the one year I'm taking off that match
  17. Winchester has discontined my favorite 3 gun slug..the Winlite. Why I don't know since it seemed to be a good seller. Since it seems that all of their retailers are sold out, I'll need a good replacement. I see Winchester makes a Law Enforcement reduced recoil slug called "Ranger". Has anybody had experience with these loads? Comparable to Winlite? Anybody know of anybody that still has Winlite in stock so I can hoard it?
  18. That is great news Mark...hmmm..makes me want to switch to Heavy Rifle to be your state champion by default ....nahh..I'm no gamer. When will online squadding begin? Keep up the great work!
  19. Daniel Kurt M. Mr Average Joe Shooter who goes to a match and does their part in course resetting and just wants to have fun and sees this shooting sport for what it really is...a game. Honorable mention: Any member of the Payne family
  20. Are the closest hotels really by the airport..... 40 miles away from Byers?
  21. First....a big thanks to all the match staff and sponsors. You work is truly appreciated. It was also good to seem some old familiar faces on at the match. The weather was great and having Red Rock in the background makes this range one of the most scenic in the country. The stages were fun and not too tricky. I agree with JT on the "carnival targets" and step activators....too much hassle comapared to the fun factor. I don't know how many seconds I volunatary gave up just to be overly cautious on speed(or lack of) unloading and long gun dumping but obviously it was worth it since I was able to finish the match. I met some nice people on Squad 15, and it was sad to see 3 of them Dq'd, but if you're going to be booted early you might as well be in Vegas!!!! I gave a fellow squad member my left over shotshells at the end of the match (Enjoy them Henrik) since I was worried my bag would be over the airline weight limit. The bag did come in at one half pound under the limit...woo hoo. It would be great for any of my new or old friends to stay in touch with me via messenger on here. It was a learning experience as always and a nice way to wrap up 2011 for me. Until we meet again....
  22. Ok the way I add it up it comes to 149 pistol 163 rifle 112 bird shot 7 slugs and 8 rounds of shotgun or pistol. Minor adding error on stage 5 description as the round count should equal 46 not 45 That American shooters place is still accepting ammo shipments right?? Curious to know the distances on rifle and slug targets.
  23. You da Man!!!!! I know spring is a long way off but I'm looking forward to the application coming out.
