  1. Love it. Keeping it real with the big .50.
  2. Had the exact thing happen to me the other night. Felt stupid when I finally figured out it had broken and was not a 2 piece part.
  3. Does everything else line up? Make sure the head is all the way in the machine and the pins are in place. Pictures would help also.
  4. Some, but if you get the CompTac, they are cut as low as the rules allow and they have a tension screw that you can control how tight things are. The pure plastic ones you would need to be more careful with. Other makers probably have the same features as well. Depending on the game you are in, make sure you are in line with the rules and do not get them too short.
  5. Pretty cool, but who would use one of these? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIDXv48OQpM#t=133
  6. Cut off the top of the mag holder so more of the mag sticks out. Less plastic holding onto the mag.
  7. See lots of XD's running around. More 9mm than 45, but no reason not to run a 45 if that is what you like. The most important thing is to get out and play.
  8. I will give you $50.00 and a big box of 9mm brass, just cause I need something to put on the wall for decoration. Pretty crappy old guns anyway.
  9. Before resizing, case neck diameter - Range: 0.3810 to 0.3850 After full length resizing - Range: 0.3730 to 0.3740 After case mouth expansion - Range: 0.3760 to 0.3790 After bullet is seated, without any crimp - Range: 0.3760 to 0.3785 Those numbers are very close to what I am getting. I am using a Dillon 650 and have the RCBS competition seating die and the Lee Factory Crimp die. If you want to get really tight specs, sort your brass by head stamp and get the competition seating die. The difference on OAL will shrink to + - .003. That is less than half the diameter of a human hair. For what we do it makes little difference. Most say + - .005 is well within functional specs. My crimp is .377 and the Lee barely touches the brass. Yes, I overthink this too, but I like it.
  10. Wow! It must be my lucky day. I just scored 8lbs of AA 1680 from Powdervalley as well as some TAC and X-Terminator. I should be set for a while.
  11. Thanks, I will keep looking for the 1680. It is like so many other items, you just have to get lucky and catch it when someone has some in stock. Frustrating.
  12. Thanks Mark and John. All of these powders are hard to find, but I at least I am adding to my list of possibilities.
  13. Mark, would those work for 300 Blackout as well? Looking for subsonic behind a 200gn projectile.
  14. Wife and I saw it Saturday as well. It was a tough movie, pretty gripping and, if I did not know the ending, would have been cheering at the end when the Chief yelled "Execute". Not as much on the SEALS as I thought there would be. Hanks was great.
  15. Have you shot any matches at the East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club there in Longview. They have pistol matches several times per month and lot so of clay sports. I would like to get over there sometime. I am up close to Sulphur Springs and shoot with the Collin County IDPA club.
  16. I really like the micrometer. I have it on two heads. It makes getting a load dialed in very quick and easy. I am playing with a lot of different bullets, BBI, MG, Bayou, Prec. Delta, Berrys and some different lead bullets in 9mm, 45ACP and 38 special, so I am jacking with it all the time. I can get within 0.1 grain in about 5 cranks of the handle. Not sure if the baffle makes a big difference, but it does no harm and may help. It is hard for me to tell one way or the other, but I use N320 and it flows pretty well anyway.
  17. Cut the spring. Just nibble a little at a time till you get it the way you like it. Mine settled down after about 1.5 coils. I doubt the plate is out of alignment. I keep one of these handy for when I drop the ball down the hole.
  18. You can only go up in classification, never down. There is also a rule that keeps you within one classification in all divisions. If you get bumped up in ssp you can only be down one level in any other division. So if you get bumped to ex in ssp and you are a mm in cdp, you will also get bumped to ss in cdp. See rule 9.5 Equity Promotion.
  19. I thought they would be different, but not that different. Thanks for the details and for taking the trouble to get the pictures. Really informative.
  20. I mounted mine back about 3.5" from the edge of the bench so it would be more into the plywood underneath rather than the 2x4 trim. As a result, the arm would not clear the edge of the bench, so I had to bend it to get it to work properly. I like it. It seems more sturdy than it would have been otherwise on this bench.
  21. When you shoot the snap caps and use the dime, how fast are you pulling the trigger? I found that when I pulled the trigger fast, I could see the front site dip left. When I did a slow press, it was rock steady. Speed up the trigger pull and see what happens for you.
  22. Just getting into the Revo game. Can you get a 6 shot cylinder for the 627 and change it out with the 8 shot? Something tells me the timing would not be right, but I know nothing about these guns.
  23. Small SOG Twitch II folder with a clip. Handy for most stuff at work.
