  1. Yes, and the results say "ICORE". The results do not say "not ICORE". So why do you call it "Phoenix Rod & Gun Club (not) ICORE" ?????
  2. Huh? You agree that I'm the only one that doesn't know what PRGC "not ICORE" means?
  3. Me too. Both USPSA and ICORE have been severely degraded by (what appears to be incompetent) Board decisions.
  4. Hang in there! And let us know how you're doin'!
  5. Wishing you the best! Seven weeks, right? How far into it are you?
  6. Sorry to hear that. They gave me two or three kinds of nausea medicine. That should help a lot.
  7. If you're having trouble eating, you might try drinking Boost (or another brand). When I couldn't eat, I was drinking seven or eight bottles of Boost per day.
  8. Ah, you're on the road to recovery! Great! Hang in there! And keep me updated.
  9. I sure feel for ya. I had that darned feeding tube for about four months. And for about another year after that I was just drinking Boost to survive. Food tasted THAT horrible. But now I'm eating everything! I'm back up to about 195 lbs. I agree about the waiting. And it goes on for a while. I did check ups every three months, then every six months. Then at my first one-year check up, they found cancer again, this time on larynx. Luckily, stage one; radiation did the trick (so far, anyway). I'm getting my first six-month check up (for this go around) in June. We gotta hang in there! And try to exercise as much as feasble. You can do it!
  10. I too had chemo, but didn't have a port installed. For six weeks, they inserted it into my wrist once a week for chemo, and I had daily (five days a week) radiation. The doc said some folks sail through it. And I sincerely hope you will! Unfortunately, I didn't "sail". First couple of weeks were okay, but it got progressively harder on me. Cancer was in my throat and the radiation really fried my sense of taste. Couldn't eat a thing. Had feeding tube installed straight into my stomach. As someone else said, I went from about 200 lbs, down to 155 lbs. I wish you the absolute best! Sail right through it! And kick that nasty C word.
  11. I'll say, "Yes, you can." But I'm not sure why one would want to do so when you can purchase .32 S&W brass from Starline! (Well, currently out of stock, but you can purchase when Starline makes its next production run.) 32 S&W (SHORT) Brass - Small Pistol - Brass Cases (starlinebrass.com)
  12. No. I am simply pointing out what the DNROI said. If you're going to have someone scoring while shooting is in progress, you are supposed to have two (or more) other sets of eyes on the shooter. Don't shoot me. Read the correspondence attached.
  13. The point is: If the scorekeeping RO is going to score targets while shooting is still in progress, you are supposed to have a third RO (or more as necessary). You did not say anything about that. You just said, "There is nothing wrong with the ARO scoring targets before the shooter is done at ANY level match." And that is incorrect unless you also say you must have another RO watching the shooter.
  14. So, BlindasaBat, you're saying Troy McManus, DNROI, is wrong? See attached documents. Dirty J (above) has it right! Quote Pre-scoring targets should NEVER take precedence over at least 2 sets of eyes on the shooter at any given time. Even at a “level 1”. “Keeping things flowing” is not as important as safety and competitive equity. Unquote Two ROs_Scoring_Rules.docx Two ROs_Scoring_Rules.rtf Two ROs.rtf
  15. Buckmark Vision Plus Red. Also have a standard Buckmark Camper for a back up. I had one helluva time getting it to run. After two or three trips to my gunsmith, still had problems. After speaking with some great guys at a Cactus Combat Steel Challenge match at the Ben Avery range, I bought the TandenKross parts kit. One final trip to my gunsmith and now it runs fine. I really should have sent it back to Browning. But finally got it running great. I tried the oversize mag release button from TandenKross but it was too easy to inadvertently hit it and drop the mag during a course of fire. The last straw was when I did that and dropped the mag in about six inches of muddy water during a string at the AZ State [Aquatic) Steel Championship match; it took me a minute to fish it out of the muddy water! The button soon came off and I put the standard Browning mag release button back on.
  16. Virtually everyone is quick to reiterate how imperative it is to adhere to the rules and safety procedures. However, I see this rule broken at many matches. Many, MANY clubs have only two ROs on a stage which is [usually] fine if both do their primary jobs. But commonly they allow the Scorekeeper RO to disregard the shooter and score targets while the shooter is still shooting the course of fire. When asked about that, they invariably say, "Oh this is just a club (Level I) match." NROI Tips – RO Positioning
  17. My experience was just the opposite. I wore contacts for nearly a half century with virtually no problems. First, hard lenses for MANY years, then semi hard gas perm lenses, and finally soft lenses. I got along fine with all (even in dusty/dirty hayfields, hunting, water skiing, etc) but the soft lenses were the most comfortable. The last few years, I needed reading glasses and carried around the cheap ones; and I used the "stick on" reading glass lenses on shooting glasses, placing them toward the top of the sunglass lenses. That actually worked quite well for me. Then came cataracts a few years ago. For an additional (and hefty) fee, the doc said he could insert permanent corrective lenses. I went with that, and lo and behold, vision corrected and I don't need reading glasses nor corrective lenses anymore! Well worth the $$$$. Oh, and after cataract surgery, I found that most walls are painted white (not a dingy brown)!
  18. Warren made the custom knobs for my Safariland Comp I .44 speedloaders also. Works great. My problem is, I don't get along so well with the Comp I loaders. Too many years using moon clips, I guess. At any rate, I'm seriously considering getting out of the .44 business and just sticking with the moon clipped .45 ACP and .38 Short Colt revolvers. If Safariland would make the Comp III in .44, might be a different story for me. With the SL Variant back in production, perhaps I should reconsider. But I kinda doubt it at this juncture.
  19. Well said. Unsafe? NO. Alter scores? NO. Rub certain member/s of ICORE board the wrong way? Apparently.
  20. Exactly. The letter is not factual nor specific. As Nathan said, "There is always another side to the story and my side has not been fully published ..." This situation has an extremely foul odor to it. I have known and shot with Nathan and the RM in question for 20 years. Both are stand up guys of superb character, morally and ethically, and both know the ICORE rules inside and out. The guy in question has performed as RM at three regionals and one IRC. He has made our monthly matches happen for many years. He has done a lot for ICORE. No problems. To blindly accept that Aysen letter is not acceptable. The ICORE board at least owes him an explanation/apology, if not the entire ICORE membership.
  21. And so is the unnamed RM. This whole situation has an extremely foul odor about it.
  22. I didn't even know there was more than one model of James Austin's moon clip server. I got mine back when I was shooting my M625 .45 ACP exclusively. Since then, I switched to a M627 with .38 Short Colt ammo. And the same moon clip server works just fine.
  23. I sure hope my travel schedule allows me to shoot with you guys again. I too may need an hour glass (and a shot glass).
