  1. You will mar the heck out of the finish on the sights using a brass punch. You will also have little control of how far the sights move. Try loosening the allen screw, they may just move by hand. A sight pusher tool is your best option.
  2. I saw these at the Topton 3-gun match when Lancer brought them out. They are really nice and the fit and finish is top-notch. These guys do a lot in terms of sponsorship, I picked up some of there mags from the prize table I was so impressed, I bought several more and that is all I run now.
  3. I have the two round holder that goes on the fore end from 3 gun gear, that thing is the cat's ass. When you run empty, you just rip one straight back, drop it in the ejection port, hit your Dave's easyloader and you are back in business. I highly recommend that piece. I also have the velcro side saddle which is cool because you can peel it off to reload it.
  4. I took the gun out yesterday to get data on it and left the LM choke in it and, WOW what a difference! It was only 3" high at 50 (average) and 4.5" low at 100yds. I didn't expect the choke to have that much effect on slugs. Thanks for the tip!
  5. I looked for that too, and couldn't find it. Safari land makes one that can be bolted (yes bolted) to a belt or anything I guess. I was going to try to bolt that to mine, but went with the elastic one from 3 gun gear instead. It works well and holds in place better than I expected.
  6. Robert, did you cut down the easyloader also? If so, Can you post some pictures? Thanks, ML
  7. I've tried a few types of slugs both full power and managed recoil and they all land in the same area. I was trying to not use any choke besides IC because of recommendations from other shooters. Is that just nonsense? I really want to know if this is just a fact of life or something that should be fixed my the manufacturer? The gun is only a month old.
  8. I recently bought a new shotgun and my slugs shoot way high and left. I shoot sporting clays with it and I can break 24 out of 25 but, when I shoot slugs, they land a foot high and half of that to the left @ 50yds. How can slugs be so far off and bird shot is ok?
  9. I would think if you have it turned down to a single diameter the whole way, you would get some serious barrel whip. Most barrels vary in diameter to reduce this. If you want to drop weight, I would try fluting it.
  10. I use a YHM rear flip up and a standard mil-spec front sight (the one attached to the gas block) on my Eotech set-up. You can flip the rear up and co-wtness for longer range shots or keep it down and ignore the front sight for close stuff. I advise a smaller diameter post for the front sight.
  11. Is that an undersized Lee sizing die or the standard? I have to use the undersized die to make the brass the right diameter.
  12. I just started watching this show. My friend who was a huge Wire fan recommended it, and so far so good. I have only seen the first episode but, I am already hooked. I have comcast cable and it is available on demand.
  13. Was it all of the time or just with a certain load like slugs? I ran full power slugs in mine and it would not lock open. I figured it was due to the abnormally large recoil. The bolt is closed by the little lever that hangs out in front of the easyloader and above the lifter. It is activated by the base of a shell leaving the magazine and pressing the lever rearward.
  14. Is that really part of the design? I was about to post a question about this.
  15. if you have a small ball peen hammer (the hex head may be too small for this) you can sit the ball end on/in the hex then give the hammer a solid crank with another hammer. This pushes the materiel back in the hex opening thereby tightening the opening. Then use heat as others suggested to loosen it before you try to remove it.
  16. Salient sells their custom glocks with the ti-n coated barrels. Don't know if they sell them separate or not. They may tell you who does it for them if you ask nicely.
  17. I have a question about my rifle comp. I use the SJC Titan. The OAL is 3.25". The threading on the barrel however extends .5" into the base of the comp making the comp 2.75" from the end of the muzzle. As I read the rule, this is legal as it is less than 3" from the end of the muzzle. Am I correct in my interpretation?
  18. Does anyone know of a place where I can send my knife to have it sharpened? It had a really nice multi-angle edge on it when it was new. I sent it out to have it sharpened once and they totally ground the edge down. I want to send it out rather than do it myself. Thanks.
  19. I use a 5.11 Operator belt for IDPA and USPSA. It is medium-stiff, it has a layer of kydex sewn into it and is 1.75" wide. I am also eyeing the cobra belt from original SOE gear. It is supposed to be way stiffer (i know) but, its way more expensive.
  20. I did that yesterday and no response yet. His web-site is sold out as well.
  21. I am in need of a Daves easyloader and they seem to be sold out everywhere. I have a match coming up and need one in a hurry. Does anyone have one or know where I can find one in stock? Thanks, ML
  22. Does anyone know of a cat-tail available for the Nikon Ar-223 1-4 scope? Thanks.
  23. A lot of replies here but...... I use "Marine-tex" its structural marine epoxy available at most marine retailers (West Marine). I also use the black pigment they sell in the same isle. You can get Silicone Carbide for the grit from people that sell rock tumbling supplies. (it is what 3m uses in their grip tape and sandpapers) I got mine from this guy: http://therockshed.com/grit.html He actually refunded me shipping because it was cheaper than his minimum shipping charge.
  24. Can someone please explain where this shim is placed. I have the same problem however I don't see how tightening the locknut can have any effect as it is the bushings that rotates and causes the entire powder measure to rise when the case is raised.
  25. I. bought the egw u die and it is working great. Only a few hundred rounds in but things are going well. Admittedly, I am using a glock factory barrel and I could probably drop a 45 case into it, as loose as the chamber is.
