  1. I have the same issues with the "shell plates dragging". In my case however, it is a result of primers not seating deep enough. I have to double tap the primers in to make sure they seat properly or else a high primer will drag and prohibit proper indexing. I believe this issue is a result of the relatively soft frame casting that the primer seating stem is actuated by. Since this post Is called things I would make better...... I would drill the area under the priming stem, tap it and use a harder metal base that could be adjusted/replaced as necessary.
  2. I understand the economics of it but, if Glock goes to the trouble of sponsoring shooters and hosting tournaments, why not make a product to suit our needs? Even if it is a niche market I think there would be plenty of us willing to pay a premium for a specialized mag. I am paying approx $70 now for the mag+ the base pad. I would rather pay $70 for a one-piece mag.
  3. Of course, why would they make one that fits the rules?
  4. Does anyone have the new 22-round Glock magazines (.40)? Do these exceed the 140mm limit?
  5. I use a hornady lnl. There is a single die dedicated to flaring. I like the dillon dies because the are easy to clean.
  6. I typically clean the gun every time it is used. Usually between 100 and 500 rds. I would think it would take far more than that to lead foul a barrel with any significance.
  7. I have been loading 45acp with hornady dies and I have a dedicated case flaring die to flare the mouth of the case so that I can set the bullet before it goes into the seating die. I am getting set up to load 40 and wanted to use dill on dies but I can't figure out when/where they get flared. I was planning to use the egw u-die to size and deprime. Will this work?
  8. I've heard people say that glocks can't shoot lead bullets due to the shape of the barrel. I never really cared because I never had a glock before.........but now I am interested. Any advice?
  9. Has anyone used the full length sizing/de-priming die? does it remove the Glock buldge?

Trading a Chevy for a Ford? The gods wont like that....I'd watch out for a bowtie shaped lightning bolt if I were you.
  11. Thanks for the replies. Out of curiosity, how would polishing make a gun un-safe?
  12. There are GREAT videos on youTube. Just search 1911. Complete disassembly and reassembly guides. There are also CAD animations which show a computer generated cut-away view of the gun functioning.
  13. did you detail strip it or just clean the top end? sounds like something is in backwards or foreign material in the trigger mechanism. I would detail strip it and inspect the small parts closely. look for abnormal wear.
  14. Thanks for the tip. The dremel comes with red rouge, is that any good for this?
  15. Does anyone have a recommendation for the proper tool to use when polishing chambers in both 45ACP and .223? I have several cloth Dremel bits, but I wanted to check to see if there is a better option. Thank you.
  16. If you guys participate, I would love to hear all about it. NM is too far for me to travel this time, but this looks awesome. Good Luck!!
