  1. I'll be watching this thread as I recently moved to Peoria and am looking for 3-Gun matches in the area.
  2. Can't wait to shoot this match... Gotta figure out a way to buy some more vacation days though.
  3. Amen. Hate traffic of all kinds!
  4. Sure hope the jobs worth it... It's going to cost you at minimum $20k extra each year just to live in california when compared to a midwest state and even more if you drive a lot or shoot a lot or do a lot of anything. I moved to the Sacramento area from Indiana for a decent salary increase a few years ago and by the time we were all moved in you just don't realize how much more everything costs. Trash, water, electricity, gas, groceries, taxes, housing, etc. My advice to you is to buy all the guns you think you might want before you move so you don't have to pay the extra costs. Buy a home with solar. PM me with any questions, I can get you hooked up with some good guys in the Redding area to get you out shooting.
  5. I've missed the match for a few years so looking forward to coming back, and bringing a new shooter Always a fun and challenging match
  6. Certainly a few great triggers out there. I love the ELF 3-Gun trigger. Everyone who feels mine is amazed at how it feels and they usually end up buying one.
  7. I think you'd be better off running a JP, Young or Voodoo BCG.
  8. Yep, Mr. Bulletfeeder is the best. Check out Shooters connection, they have some in stock right now for 9mm and 40 S&W
  9. Another vote for the ELF triggers. Amazing trigger pull. Triggers break similar but better than a nice 2.5 Lb trigger in a 1911. The only other suggestion I'd make is the Geissele Match rifle 2-Stage trigger.
  10. I've been a huge fan of the JP EZ Trigger for the last year and thank JP for a great trigger. I like the CMC as well for an easy inexpensive drop in. Hyperfire didn't do it for me. AR Gold was my overall favorite but I didn't like the narrow trigger shoe. I recently got to play with the ELF 3-Gun trigger and that's what I'll be running from now on when I can afford one. It's an amazing trigger, super crisp trigger pull, very fast and no creep or anything what so ever. Easy to adjust too. Flat or curved trigger options. Cool design.
  11. So many triggers out there how do you pick just one? Thanks goodness we all have several rifles to install all those cool triggers in Hahaha
  12. I think what Mike Cyrwus is saying makes a ton of sense. I lived in the Midwest for a while and it was always fun heading to OKC or Tulsa to shoot a couple times a Month. Then you can shoot at Mill Creek outside of KC and Air Capital in Topeka, KS, Hallsville in Missouri and if you wanna go to Omaha you can do that too. Lots of shooting within a 3 hour drive every weekend if you enjoy driving. It's nice to see new shooters from multiple clubs in a variety of areas vs. Rio Salado area where the same shooters are there winning over and over at every match. Fun every now and then but not all the time. Maybe not but that's why I'm in no hurry to move to Phoenix area. Cool topic
  13. I had a 550 set up in the garage for about 4 Months and it began to rust. Indoor is best if you have the room.
  14. Welcome to the forum! Wish I lived in KS... Love all the shooting you have in KC, Topeka, Wichita, OKC, Tulsa... Every weekend is a match weekend
  15. Welcome! Great bunch of shooters at Mill Creek, Bullet Hole and Air Capital in Topeka.
  16. Wow! Guess I won't have to renew my 3GN membership and we can stop playing the "guess which 3GN rules to use" game at our local club when we don't renew that membership either. Stupid 3GN. So disappointing
  17. I've got an ELF 3-Gun trigger and it's a great trigger. I like a crisp break and a single stage trigger for 3-Gun and the roller bearings make the ELF super smooth. I like CMC and the JP EZ trigger but the ELF is far superior in feel to them. The Geissele is a hybrid trigger and doesn't even compare since it has lots of creep then a break.
  18. I compared the ELF 3-Gun trigger with a flat trigger shoe to a few other triggers I had laying around from Hyperfire, Geissele (S3G and SSA), Timney, JP EZ trigger and a CMC and I think the trigger feel is much better on the ELF. I like the ease of adjustment and the super fast splits I can obtain with it. I had an AR Gold for a while but didn't like the narrow trigger or the lack of easy adjustability, by the time I had the AR Gold where I liked it the trigger wobbled and didn't feel right. I'm planning to run the ELF 3-Gun trigger some more as it really seems like what I've been looking for in a single stage trigger for 3-Gun in my CTR-02.
  19. I'm trying one out right now. Seem to be a very nice setup with a super crisp trigger break and quick reset. Love the flat trigger shoe and the trigger pull is adjustable from right around 2# to 4#. I can't get over how sweet the the feel of the trigger pull is compared to my JP EZ Trigger.
  20. I never owned an Ammoload but did own a camdex and several 1050's. I've loaded on ammoloads and decided to get rid of my camdex and find a used ammoload. Don't shoot enough now to justify it though. The camdex machines are fine but seemed to require more maintenance than the ammoloads. The ammoloads seem to run smoother and I could run them at a higher speed than i ever could a camdex. Both are solid machines. I know plenty of people who load on both and aside from a little more maintenance with the camdex either would likely suit you fine if you were looking at loading 3800 - 4700 rounds per hour. The guy in TX that had the camdex machines from my post above unfortunately sold them.
  21. The Cylinder & Slide Ultra Light or Warp Speed kit has proven successful for me in several 2011's. Also like the Brazos kit. Minimal fitting of the safety required and typically always 2.25 - 2.5Lb trigger pull.
  22. I've loaded on quite a few machines from automated 1050's to Camdex and Ammoloads. Ammoloads are by far the best machines for the normal commercial reloader wanting to build an easy 4k rounds per hour. If someone is interested in a couple Camdex loaders let me know as I might know where a couple of older machines are at a decent price.
