  1. Bill Wylde is a dear friend of mine. A true genius of the AR. Everything I have in .223 was built by him, with the exception of a great AR Benny Hill built for me. I have fired everything through Bill's rifles and never had a problem.
  2. Need to pick some up, figured I would check first. thanks
  3. He only apologized after a landslide of negative responses hit him smack between the eyes. What an idiot. Calling the AR15 a terrorist gun....
  4. As a raw material, lead was more expensive in November 2006 than it is now. Not sure why the big rumored price increases...unless manufacturers have worked through their stockpiles and are only now raising prices, which would be surprising since we have been seeing substantial price increases throughout the last year or more. http://www.kitconet.com/charts/metals/base...ad-1y-Large.gif
  5. +1 to all the above. I love mine.
  6. Now Merlin start selling some of those single stacks you got so we can chime in about what a great guy you are!
  7. One of the best friends you will ever have. It is bitch tough. Go buy a puppy. Seriously.
  8. I have owned Rottweilers for many years. They are properly bred and properly raised and trained. Wouldn't bite a biscuit unless it was a threat to the family. Our old male, Remo, just passed away this past fall. I have seen a dozen kids at one of our daughter's birthday parties leave the toys and games and go dress him up and play games with him. Have a picture of him somewhere wearing 2 party hats, a cape of wrapping paper, and dragging about 20 yards of ribbon around with 3 girls age 4 or 5 hanging on his neck. He was as happy as they were. Now, if a strange adult had messed with the kids? His own kind of party would have started. Banning breeds is just another sign of the pussification of America. It is a response to a problem that no one has the balls to respond to properly.
  9. http://www.lapolicegear.com/closeouts.html digital camo, $16.
  10. I want to buy a 9mm 1911, for no real reason other than I don't presently have one. Just going to use it to plink and play. What have you folks found that works, out of the box, and has reliable mags---or what mags can be purchased that are reliable feeders? Thanks!
  11. Find out who the driving force is behind your local Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever type programs and talk to them about help. All you need is a couple of the big-hitters to spend what they would on a couple of prints during one drunken auction and your kids will be in high clover.
  12. I have never owned a .357 Sig, so can't compare the two. 9x23 ammo is made by CorBon, Winchester, and Glaser. 2 of the 3 are expensive, indeed. Zanders recently had a sale on Winchester 9x23 @ $11 per 50. They are now sold out. Have not priced other places like Jerry's, etc. The last new 9x23 ammo I bought was at a gun store that was closing it out at a little under $10 per 50 (that was a year ago though). I bought all they had, like 40 boxes or so. Midway is selling new brass in 9x23 for less than same maker brass in .357 Sig. No idea how long the sale difference will be available. .357 Sig once-fired is available though, and have never seen that in 9x23. I have never had a feed / magazine problem in any of my 9x23 guns. The .357 Sig does have LE followers so it would be likely that it will be more available, longer, than 9x23, but I have never had a problem getting 9x23 ammo, it is sold through places like Midway, Natchez, etc. Benny built a switch-barrel 9x23 1911 for a buddy of mine and I have tried like heck to steal the gun when he is not looking. No luck yet. The pistol is a thing of beauty, and runs great.
  13. The G20 in 9x23 has been done before too. Giddyup. That reminded me, I have a Bar-Sto barrel for a glock in 9x23, never installed...did some digging and Viola' Found it!
  14. I carry one in a 1911, have another in an STI, I love the caliber. Little snap to the recoil but mine are nothing like a .357 maggie. Really, you can shoot them all day. Do it!
  15. Maybe do everyone a favor and put up a post elsewhere next time, like "controversy brewing in revolver forum" before a thread gets closed? I mean, what is the use of fighting if no one sticks their head out of the back-door of the church and yells FIGHT!?
  16. +1. I have a couple of his pistols, one stock the other a custom, great work.
  17. Revolver, the other 6 shot, pre-loaded chambers solution. I only pointed out the shortcomings of the design as a competition or military arm, because its possible applications in those fields where mentioned. Also it can proabably be stoped from firing by covering the ejection port. As a revolver can be stopped with a thumb on the hammer or by grabbing the cylinder. At least after 1st shot. Every mechanical device has a weakness. It does not follow though that there is a problem with the inventor's genetics. Will the pistol ever make it to market? Who knows. But concept cars and the like do serve a purpose...by pushing the thought process forward from "what we have is good enough for me", to "hey, this might be an improvement".
  18. Hmm, nope. Sorry, innovation is all good and fine, but this isn't it. Muzzleflip is not all about the slide moving, some of it is from the bore axis. Also, having to pick up your chambers is going to be a killer. Also having to load each chamber by hand for a match of 150 rounds is going to be a killer. So is the price of 150 chambers, which is the minium you would need for a single steel match, nevermind a good practice session. Then there is going to be the fact that you are using 150 chambers which are not all going to be identical. Chamber check ammo for that problem before your big match and let me know how it is going to work out for you. The military is not going to love a weapon system which requires steel chambers to be carried around for EVERY round of ammo they carry. I could build a car with hexagonal wheels because it would improve braking, but it is going to have some drawbacks Sorry, but it is still a bad idea. We figured out how to handle moving parts a while ago. I think innovation takes some crazy, or what appears to be crazy, turns at times. Often, it is not the most recent innovation which becomes an answer, but the innovation which that innovation leads to that becomes important. One advantage I could see to a pistol like this would be the ability to fire, repeatedly, when someone had grabbed the front of the pistol. As we all know (not from experience but because we know how semi-auto pistols work) a scuffle for a pistol that gets a bad guy's hand(s) on the slide and pushing back putting the pistol slightly out of battery makes for a bad situation. Also, a semi-auto that does not have a moving slide *could* cure many types of jams (assuming ejection was 100%); it would also allow the pistol to be fired from a coat pocket, and in many other hypothetical situations where a semi is not now the best answer. Not every pistol has to be built with competition in mind. In fact, the vast majority of defense pistols are not commonly used in any type of competition. I am glad to see a company pushing the envelope---even if it never makes it to market.
  19. So true. I assume the manufacturers are working off their old stocks, and now ratcheting up prices due to replacement costs. Lead is off about 12% though since October (but more than triple up since 2002); Copper is off about 20%-25% or so since July (but was up over triple from just couple years back). Oil is down as well, but only marginally. The experts say we are in a generational bull market in base metals...and we have not seen anywhere near the end. I hadn't priced Sierra match 6.5 bullets since I bought a load several years ago...until tonight. Ugh. Wow. So, at what point do you cut back dramatically in how much you shoot?
  20. Bruce

    6" Glock 20

I have a Bar-Sto 6" barrel in one of my Glock 20's. Works great.
  21. Reggie should put his arm around the QB this week at practice and whisper nice things in his ear, like "lob another floater out to me in the flats and I will kill you". Heck of a hit...and shows how tough they are in the NFL...Reggie played the rest of the game.
  22. Ever in the St. Louis area? Had luck several years ago with bulk prices picked up (on rifle bullets). These are good guys. http://www.iidbs.com/hitech.zkb
  23. I have a couple AR's that are exactly the same with Black Hills. I shot it, went and checked the targets...and didn't even bother to measure---looked like I shot it drunk. Shot it in a 3rd upper and WOW, it was awesome. Buy a little of several types and try. Good luck.
