    S2 no decocker

It's a pretty simple fix, add in "after the start signal" to the wording regarding being bumped to Open, and clarify that it also isn't a DQ to not have the safety on at half cock. And @SGT_Schultz is right, there isn't much difference in the trigger pull from half cock or full decocked, but, I wouldn't change the rule to allow half cocked starts for non decocker guns either.

@waktasz if it's a typo it's carried over to Carry Optics as well and a pretty significant one at that.

because there is no difference between the hammer position on a decocker version and a non decocker version when it comes to the hammer at half cock, physically I mean. On the decocker version that is where a Production gun's hammer is put and stays, and no safety needs to be applied. The bump to Open for the non decocker version doesn't somehow make it unsafe for the hammer to be in that position. If it did, then the rule wouldn't bump you to Open, it would DQ you.

no we aren't all saying the same thing, a non decocker gun that is decocked to half cock doesn't need the safety on, it only needs the safety on if it's fully cocked.

DQ'ing at half cock? No, there is zero difference, between a gun with a decocker or one without, at least in the CZs when the hammer is at half cock, and the ones with a decocker aren't expected to apply their safeties when holstered. I too would agree that the idea behind the rule regarding half cock was that it wouldn't actually bump anyone until the start signal occurred, but the rule is written quite specifically, so the instant you put a manually decocked pistol into the holster at half cock, you're bumped. It is clearly state as being so
  6. I've been shooting Campro 147gr bullets for more than a decade, they are a sort of flat point, with a rounded edge. Accuracy has always been superb out of all my Shadows and Shadow 2s and even my P10 and Glocks (19, 17, 17 and 48) Using one of my matched pair, prior to swapping in an Eemanntech match bushing, off hand I kept them all in the 9 ring on a B8 at 25m demoing at class a few months ago. best group I've shot in years due to eye issues that are now mostly resolved. Group was spectacular, and I can't imagine shooting any better than that.
  7. I've had no issues with my old Cajun 8.5 but I've long since switched to ipsc4you's 9lb main and recoil, along with their super light firing pin spring. But regardless of the route you go, you need that super light firing pin spring to make the systems work. I just replaced a cut firing pin spring in a students gun (worked on by someone else previously) on Saturday night, he went from failures to fire every 4 or 5 rounds to none with just that one spring change. Shooting Winchester duty SXTs, Winchester white box and some, ugg, Maxtech (is that spelled right?) steel case garbage.

@SGT_Schultzsorry, didn't mean strange regarding you, meant strange regarding the rule. I hadn't expected to find it in that section.

Strangely you are correct, but it's not because of the course of fire beginning at Make Ready, it's because there is literally this statement under "special conditions" in Production Div and Carry Optics; "Manually decocking to the half-cocked position is not allowed and will result in the competitor being moved to Open division" Absolutely bizarre rule dude.
  10. I use them too, great springs, make the safety much harder to accidently move
  11. @Tired_Eyes no drifting while idle, although sensitive to air movements, so I keep the shield on most of the time. When it's off I always let it settle and hold my breath when checking a charge. I'm using it setup my Revolution loading 9mm (I let others use the machine and need to setup their powders). Even when the machine is running, on the same bench, it's reliable, although if things are really moving and jerking around on the bench, like say sizing rifle brass on a single stage, you'd want to isolate the scale as it would be affected. It is also pretty fast, dump the powder in, boom there's your weight and yes, repeatable too. I've tested it with both it's check weight and the pan with a load in it. Before getting it I didn't understand the dual weight thing. Basically under a certain weight (can't remember right now) it goes to 0.002gr resolution and above is 0.02. Took me awhile to sort that out. I had thought about getting it's big brother as I intend to get a Super Trickler or AutoTrickler down the road when I get back into long distance rifle, but figured, nah, get the EJ for now and get a dedicated one for rifle later. One thing I did do was put a little blue loctite on it's leveling feet. Once I had it leveled in a specific spot on my bench, I'd use it, then slide it away so I had room to case gauge or whatnot. Then I'd slide it back to do random checks and would have to relevel as the feet had turned. That was annoying, so I just did the loctite thing and it's no longer an issue.
  12. Yes an auto throw powder charge scale would be as accurate as a stand alone, but a bit more of a pain to use due to being attached to the larger unit. I used to use my Chargemaster scale until I got a GemPro, when it died I upgraded to a EJ-54D2 from Cambridge Environmental after watching Gavin on Ultimate Reloader showcase it. Well worth the bucks.
  13. I have been running RCBS sizing dies for decades, the carbide ones. I run them in single stage presses and my automated 1050 and Revolution. They are long lasting and my favorite sizing die. I've tried others, and hated them all. For decapping I've gone from the RCBS spring decapper on the sizing die, to drilling out that die and installing a Dillon decapper to MA and finally, now I am happy, with a FW Arms decapper. Easily the best decapper on the market, the auto centering shuttle is a massive improvement and I get far less breakages as a result. The only time I actually break a pin is when there is a rock or other hard debris in the case. For a hold down die again, FW Arms for the win. Seating I use a Redding micrometer seating die, works perfect and allows for easy micro adjustments when needed (different weight bullets or different profiles), crimping is an Italian die from GBO and is a taper crimp with full body sizing, like the Lee, but much better made. I do wish it was a micrometer setup like the seating die and I don't really need the full body sizing either as I roll all my cases and they go through two sizing dies before being loaded usually. But until I need to replace it, it will stay as is. Haven't had the chance to play with a micrometer crimp die, but I would like to see one in person. Lastly I use a Lee die body with the Mr Bullet Feeder expander in it for flaring the case mouth.
  14. when I log into the forum from my Android phone using Chrome (mobile) I get a pop up when I'm quoted or mentioned, but I can't click on it and be taken to the post. At the top of the page there isn't the Bell like there is in Desktop to click on either. None of the icons up there will get me to a page where I can see my notifications. I must be missing something or have something turned off, but I can't find a link anywhere in mobile. What am I doing wrong?
  15. yoh dude! I hang out in the CZ area mostly. How you been? I was quite intrigued by the 92X right up until I got to handle and shoot it. Once that happened, I was no longer interested. The safeties just killed it for me. Maybe if this had been introduced after the Elite II issues, and it had had flat, or I mean, flush, safeties, I would have jumped on it. But it just doesn't shake its money maker enough for me to throw coins at it.
  16. so, least recoil, would be heavier, typically. as for minimal deviation, you're looking for quality ammo that doesn't produce a lot of inconsistent shots?
  17. It would be nice to see flush safeties released for the 92X, I really don't understand why they bothered to introduce their top end match gun, for Production, with safeties on it. Just weird.
  18. I've done about 11,000 cases through my 1050 with the FW Arms plate, and holy crap is it nice. Running at 3500 RPH on the RL1050 and I've had maybe 3 cases not feed right and go launching on index. One I know for sure was because of a piece of debris that was under it as it tried to feed, and I'd assume the other two were the same thing. With the Dillon plate it was a nightmare on this machine. On my old RL the Dillon plate ran great and the FFB plate wouldn't work at all. When I automated the newer RL I had (the old one just stopped working), the Dillon plate wouldn't work even at slow speeds very well, but the FFB ran good up to 2400 RPH. I then got a new motor for the Mk7 and when I jumped to 3500 the FFB would jam regularly, with cases getting stuck on insertion. I tried everything and it was a constant issue. Now, with the FW Arms plate I have not had one case stick going in. Which blows me away.
  19. the end of the rod looking like that is normal, most of mine, when I used Dillon dies, looked like that. The thread needs to taper to fit into the piece that holds the decapping pin in place.
  20. flat matters with long distance rifles, it doesn't matter in any of the major pistol sports, be it IPSC or even Olympic pistol. Find what shoots the most accurate out of your gun. I have around 1.5 million 147gr bullets through my Shadows and Shadow 2s over the years and they shoot great.
  21. definitely get a pin setting punch, or, make one. Drill a 3/32 hole in the end of a rod about 1/4 of the length of the pin, use that to start and even partially seat the pin. Looking at those ones you showed the pics of the hole is not clear all the way through, either the site or the bushing is catching the pin. Usually the pin will align them, but not always. I tend to use the setting punch, then a roll pin punch (the one with the nipple on the end, to do the finally drive in.
  22. bwahahahahaha, I have more than 10 now lol. And at least one is a Skoda for sure, I had that one with the weird void by the right hand safety detent I had to fill.
  23. likely not. None of my Shadow 2 slides will fit on the Shadow Orange I have, nor will it's slide fit on any of my other Shadow 2 frames.
  24. @IHAVEGAS yeah I can see the Tanfo ones doing that, being so much shorter and such. That said, talking to guys who make springs for industrial equipment, I get weird looks from them when I tell them gun springs wear out, especially mag springs. Universally they tell me that gun springs must be junk. Even a high use gun, say 250k live fire and similar dry fire, shouldn't see a spring even come close to wearing out. Goes for mag springs and recoil too. Yet, we all know they do wear out and die.
