  1. there's a steel plate at 5 dogs in bakersfield that is about 200 yds out. when the steel challenge was there in the early 90's for a year, we were playing around and shooting 45's that had steel loads at it. kinda like calling in a mortar. we eventually figured out the angle and hit it kinda consistently...even have video of doing it off hand and weak hand. you could actually see the rounds in flight when the sun was just right.
  2. wait till y'all see sfpmb's texas star...

  5. thanx fer reminding me, dave. gotta get started soon...
  6. try practicing transitions by shooting just one shot at each target. you will start to see things that will help in the timing.
  7. you and uscbigdawg should commiserate over beers.
  8. merlin-you getting a 7" AMT longslide now?
  9. just to follow-up on this, i spoke to tim and he is replacing the old tube and nut assembly. apparently there was a design change and tim did not want the old one to fail. he's shipping out a replacement. outstanding service! tim, you are the man...thanx again.
  10. ordered another tube from midway-this time just a tube...figured it would go right on the existing nordic nut and cap. wrong. the cap fits fine, but the other end for the nut is not the correct thread. my existing nordic tube threads are the same on both ends, but this one is not. anyone run into this? midway says it should be the correct one. or could it be that this one is for stock nuts?
  11. am i the only one that finds the bump on grip safeties annoying and uncomfortable? glad all my old stuff is without...doesn't anyone make them without any more?
  12. bobby-is that a dremel hiding on that bench? keep rich away from that thing!
  13. yep-uspsa only allows limited-10 class, not true open shotguns
  14. heard a rumor one of them will be in bend, oregon again.
  15. The shooter won't get more than one look at each target due to the terrain. also, the description on stage 2 indicates 12 larues and 4 flashers. that can't be the case unless the round count and points are incorrect.
  16. Streak continues for the 'Huskers (not beating a top 20 ranked team since the 90's). Rich And Washington is rated in the top 200?
  17. The shooter won't get more than one look at each target due to the terrain. dude-cough up some distances for us. how about the shotgun slug plates?
  18. I'm in! Stages look mo betts than the last several years. Wonder what the distances are?
  19. at the 2003 back-to-back nationals in bend, most of the stages were changed. some subtle, others quite a bit. the standards that year were at 15 yds for limited, 30 yds for open. paper was replaced with poppers on another stage, and arrays of targets were changed on others. i remember that crazy one you ran through a door and in limited, shot 4 stationary targets out to about 15 yds, but for open, all four were swingers surrounded by no-shoots. so for that back-to-back, it was definitely different.
