  1. My wife is looking at starting a blog to help keep all of her relatives up to date with her mothers failing health. I need information on how to go about starting a blog, where to set it up, basically anything you can tell me. Blogging is a COMPLETELY new idea to me, and I have next to NO knowledge or understanding of how it works. Thanks.
  2. Don't know if this story is true, but I have personally put on the SCUBA gear to hook up a brand new Ford F350 after the owner took it out on a lake in Central WI to do some donuts. I guess he thought it would be safest out on the lake, since there wasn't anything to hit. Well, anything except that nice spot of thin ice.
  3. My wife just went to one of their shows a few months ago, and if your daughter is really into "Ground Work" she will enjoy the show. From what my wife is telling me, there were only about 4 jumps. If you are a "Horse Person" you will appreciate the show, if not, well it would be quality time spent with your daughter.
  4. I agree that time (the 3 year period provided for) will tell. I just hate the fact that there is all this talk of doing away with L-10 before that 3 years has gone by. I also think that with some MINOR changes to the rules of the S.S. division, of which I think w are all well aware, the S.S. division could do even better, once the time comes that those changes can be made.
  5. During live fire, all you need to be doing is "Seeing" the front sight lift and come back to zero. Practice two shot sets to get used to it. Other than that, DRY FIRE, DRY FIRE, DRY FIRE. You could try starting with the gun on the bench or table, instead of a draw, but this is best practiced at home dry firing first as well.
  6. Don't know if it is making the 8-10%, but a quick look at the major matches this past year shows that L-10 has had WAY more shooters than S.S. Interesting, if nothing else.
  7. If you are talking about while riding a motorcycle, try the "Master Yoda" riding technique. Helped me a lot. Basically tells you to ride the motorcycle like any good horseman knows they need to ride.
  8. Hmm... Been away for almost a year, and it is good to see that the "What to do with L-10" debate is still going on. Seems like we all have the same answer we did 12 months ago. Leave it the Hell Alone!
  9. I checked E-bay earlier today, and one of these damn things was over $4K with 15 minutes remaining. For that kind of money you could go out and REALLY DO whatever you are pretending to do on the video game. (Well maybe not, but hell get a life)
  10. Much to my surprise, the gun didn't feel that heavy, and recoil wasn't that bad. Must be my "Custom rounds." I am out for the WIIT. I think I would just get upset with my performance. Right now, I am just going to try and make as many Thursday nights as I can, and then progress back into local matches. I can't make the December match at Pine Tree, but we'll see after that.
  11. Greetings all, I have been away for what feels like forever. Haven't picked up the gun in over six months, until last night. Finally made to our local clubs IPSC league night, and all things considered I shot pretty well. The best thing for me is that after about two rounds I was once again seeing the sights lift. Nice to know that skill isn't gone. I wish I could say the same for my reloads, GOD they were awful. Hope to get back into the swing of things over the next month or two. See some of you soon.
  12. On long range targets I almost always close one eye. It helps me bring the front sight into shaper focus, and forces me to slow down just the little extra bit that is needed.
  13. Just in the past week, I have had mine fly off into a toilet, bounce down a stair case, and get soaked (along with everything else I had on me) in a driving rain. Before that I had no problems, just a bad week I guess. Thank God it is my work phone, and not my personal one.

HAPPY B-DAY, Wakal! Hope you have a good one.
  15. He's TGO because he has been at the top of our sport for so many years, and is a great guy to be around. It would be VERY easy for a person who has DOMINATED a sport inthe way he has to get a big head. I have seen him go way out of his way to be nice to people, and encourage new shooters.
  16. The rumor I heard was that Dillon bought 308 ammo by the Train Car. Since they are test firing the guns for....customers, I assuem they make sure to use military spec ammo. I bet they even get a bulk discount. If you knew where the test range was, and knew 100% for a fact when they WERE NOT going to shooting, just think of the brass!
  17. OK, that was really bad. Who the hell doesn't know the gun is made by Dillon? Who didn't recognize Mike Dillon's back? And by the way, the "Dillon" sign in the back ground of one of the shots of the "Super Secrect Factory" was a bit of a give away. All that said, I would still act just as dumb and goofy and the host of the show to have a chance to fire a Minigun.
  18. Excellent Point! I just like the fact that it makes my State (IL) look that much more backward.
  19. Since my reloading area is in the basement, and I have a dehumidifier going in there at all times, I haven't taken all of the powder out of my press in close to 10 years. (Except when changing powder type) Never had a problem, but it does discolor the hopper.
  20. I heard that Kansas is getting ready to pass a CCW law as well. That would leave just 2 states. The Ya-Hey-Der's to our North (WI), and those of us trapped behind the Iron Curtain here in IL. Good news for you guys!
  21. First thing you have to do is BELIEVE you can do it. All the advice above is great, and correct, but don't defeat yourself before you even touch the gun by thinking it is impossible.
  22. Yup, I also noticed the perviews. I don't have TiVo, but I do plan on watching it.
