  1. Didnt even know this was still on. Caught about 5 minutes and saw the "the gunny" with a little g in my book who teamed up with the af jack and the tattto adam henry in the last season I saw to screw the guy who was in the navy. I dont know the particulars but that whole thing still was pathetic the way they acted. Id rather watch reruns of Gilligans Island. Or oprah.
  2. For those who reload is anyone using small rifle primers in their 9mm loads and if so any issues? Most pistols function fine with small rifle primers which is my prefered method to keep the supply chain simple since I load rifle for 3 gun as well.
  3. Car & cart is a good combo. They use the bays for 4/5 stages (cart) and then go to Doe Valley for a stage or two (car down the hill). Look at the PanAm 3 gun 4th of July weekend at Rockcastle if your schedule permits. 10 stages/3 days/ $80 entry fee. Gary Welborn is MD. I suspect this will be a super match. Dave Crap, Im forced to work that weekend.
  4. Any projected dates for another one or two of these? I didnt get the ProAm but might be interested in a down and back Saturday thing. I have not been and is this setup to use the cart or work out of your car?
  5. What is the OAL of the stock mag release? I may just sand or chuck the thing in a lathe and turn the length down,
  6. I dont have the one I want yet but I was fondleing a 226 competition and immediatly it stood out the release was longer than I wanted. What is a source of a color match standard size mag relase for the black color? Brownells lists a blue one but Im not sure if that is the correct color or part. Trying to get my ducks all in a row on this one. I will be using a bladetech DOH ICE holster and was wondering the same thing about it being a problem.
  7. OK Im just scratching the surface. I see that SIG makes a 25 round mag that at the moment is out of stock. First things first and get the gun but Im still trying to sort out the mag issues. I have not heard back from a few days back from the mousetrap mags. Its OK give it time. If I can just get the 21-22 round level from Mec-Gar 18 round mags plus the Taylor Freelance +3 that will work probably if they are available. Im supprised Im not finding much more solid info at this point. I have the rest lined up but the mag issue is still up in the air. I found ProMag stuff but would not use their stuff for a tire chalk. Junk. What makes me confused is the fact that SIG sells a 19 round mag. IS that a Mec-Gar with a basepad? WHAT is the standard SIG mag high cap body for the 9 and then sort out the base pads by mfg. For shits sakes with other MFGs its somewhat standardized.
  8. I bought some tungston weights off amazon and had to turn them down a hair to fit my 5.25. Filled it full and used solder to fill it and make it solid. Or you can buy one. Seemed to help me.
  9. Im interested in the compeition version which has the magwell already. Thanks for the info.
  10. Can you provide a link to the mags? I wont need a magwell if I get the copetition model but want the longest mags I can find. Thanks for the info and Im probably going to end up with one but it may take a few months to make it happen.
  11. I shot a friends 226 tactical 9mm with a magwell and 20 round mags I only put about 10 rounds thru it but really like the way it fits the hand, shoots and feels. I expected it to be nice but didnt think Id like it enough to consider jumping ship to a new handgun. I have done some looking here and elsewhere and if I do it looks like the Competition version. My friend found his used at a good price and added magwell and new grips. The Compettion version I like already has the adjustable sights and it comes with a magwell already. Plus its a bit heavier and should help with stability. Now I need to find more info on the higher capacity "mousetrap" mags or whoever has something like that IF its available. Im an open shooter in 3G so I will take up to the 170mm if I can find such an animal. I will most likely finish up this season with my current XD 5.25 but maybe sooner if I can work it out. This was actually the first SIG pistol I have shot and was very supprised how much I liked it. After owning Wilson pistols, SVI, and other 2011 platforms I cant remember liking one so much with just a few shots. Id appreciate any help with the higher cap mags and I suppose BladeTech makes a DOH holster and mag carrier. Also maybe a Dawson FO front sight and thats it.
  12. I have a Burris fast fire 2 on a speed bead and a Redring I'm testing. Try looking at a Lupy Delta Point. Set the top of the triangle for slugs and the rest is there. Its a bigger MOA than a FF and the nice part is its auto on. Nothing says dumbass more than walking up to a stage, hearing the timer go off and realize you have forgot to turn on the dot. The FF has a small little on off switch that is a pain to reach in a hurry.
  13. Very cool. Without being too nosey how much for the whole package??

I saw that when I ordered and that's fine. I have enough loaded plus 1K not loaded. I was just glad they had them listed. I ordered these to have on hand to load over the winter. Do a couple K of these and few K of 9. I have always liked going into the season with plenty already loaded. Spare time is hard to come by in the summer and when it's cold there is always free time.
  15. You can actually get DQed because you used the wrong ammo? Didn't know that. OR worse if you hit a close piece of steel with a slug.
  16. Boo for MG. I used to use their pistol bullets exclusivly and had no issues but Precision Delta has just as good of quality and cheaper. Never bought the rifle stuff from them and now wont. Very bad PR for them to just deal with the ones who complain instead of coming out about it and contacting all who bought that lot. Plus sounds like they seem to be in no hurry to replace them. Another strike. Personally Id be hopping up and down demanding new bullets in less than a couple weeks or a refund. And Id call them every day to complain untill they did one or the other.
  17. I dont know if they are actually well stocked but I just happend to check the site and they show the 500 box of 69 gr SMK part # SIE1380C in stock. I grabbed a couple to lay in for cushion.
  18. I have read some suggestions about the Lee Collet die on the second head for my Dillon in 223. Im confused somewhat how it should set it or how those who use it do set it. I resize and decap with a Redding NM die and trim with a Dillon trimmer on head number one. Do you guys also set the die as Lee suggests two turns deep so there is no overcam on the Dillon press and compress the collet and resize (again) the neck or just run it down to hit the shell plate and let the decap pin just basically debur the neck and clean the primer hole? Im thinking of still adding the Lee Factory crimp on these but waiting to check my first loads with 4 different powder weights initially.
  19. If the stage is 12-16 rounds it makes enough difference between several spots on the scores!!
  20. My first open shotgun about 7 years ago was an S12. It was a home built and some days it ran great others not so great. I built another one and it did better but never perfect. It is and always has been getting mags tuned for the magwell on them. Never ponied up the bucks for the R&R but have seen them and while they run better I have seen an occasional hiccup. 3 years ago I got one of the very first Akdals out of the dealer sample shipment. That was before anyone did any work at all to them. When Firebird started doing customs mine was fairly early in the program. Love it. With the comp it has a very slight bit more felt recoil than a saiga but not enough to make any difference. As with the s12 mags were the issue. Jim's latest 10 rounders, and the 15 round mags run. Perfectly! As long as I feed it 1200fps ammo it simply is flawless. The AR ergonomics are the point that puts it ahead of the saiga for me. The left side charging handle is such a great feature as well. I'm thinking of getting one of the 18 round mags maybe but at this point I can reload a 15 rounder from a thigh rig in a flash so I may just wait to see if someone makes an all steel body 20 rounder. As far as drum the MD drum for saiga is cool but bulky and in the way for 3 gun (IMO). Each has fans. I have had both, I won't diss the saiga but I will take the Akdal hands down. Get one from Jim and you will be glad you did.
  21. I put a .205 tall on mine and it had plenty. Dont know if anything shorter is OK.
  22. FYI Midway has the 80 round can of Fiochhi in stock. I ordered one last night. The Midway sight is down at the moment and I dont know if they are already sold out. 7/8 oz Item 644566 for $79 in a little plastic can. IF they are out do the notify when in stock. Thats the only way I knew they had some. I think Able Ammo may have them in stock as well.
  23. I had a lot of load data I cant find and one source that showed TAC and H335 as the two best clones for M193 loads. I know I had it buried on my hard drive but as usual, I cant find shit.
  24. I looked at the Rudy stuff at my eye doc and after talking to the guy who does their lenses he advised me that my script would not work well in a wrap type frame. I went with a pair of large safety glasses that have excellent field of view and standard side sheilds. No bifocal and we shall see. My right eye uses contacts with a monovision and my power was borderline so she bumped them up one level. Should know next week or so if it was a good investment.
  25. I ended up putting up a 4' fixture with 4 T8 tubes. directly above the loader. It adds quite a bit of light. I also noticed it adds some heat to the room so I dont want to over do it with more.
