  1. Shot for the first time my new Custom SP01 Shadow with a fixed competition rear sight today, 200 rounds different loads with no hiccups. Need to drift the rear sight a smidge to the right. I mounted the slide in a vise, removed the one set screw on top of the sight and started using a delrin tipped punch to drift it left to right but it wouldn't budge. No matter how hard I hit it still won't move. Thinking this was Loctited or something? Am I missing something? Will appreciate any advise ...Thanks in advance. BTW - this thing is scary accurate!
  2. I ordered my first CZ pistol from them. I must admit that I didn't do enough research on whom to order one from. I just went with CZ Custom because that's where my buddy's Shadow Custom came from. Started reading the CZ forum I found out that there are others who works on CZ. It's nice to know that CZ Custom will take care of me if something goes wrong.
  3. Steve, I now believed (and hope) that I'm in this "phase of development". Been doing the drills in your book now for couple of weeks. I did experienced that my accuracy got worse but my movement did improved. I now attack the stages/shoot the targets in a different way before I read your book. Programming Maximum Efficiency.

    Gen4 guiderods

that's the reason why I sold mine, they (Glockmeister) said it can be removed but no slot or allen head like the LWD

    Gen4 guiderods

1000 plus rounds with LWD stainless rod with adapter ..no issues. Bought it last March. using 13 lb ISMI spring 2 coils cut. I tuned my spring with my 130 PF loads. GEN4 GLOCK 17
  6. this would be a perfect match for my Bedell Open, Hybrid Barrel.
  7. any pre-cautions in cleaning Titanium comps? Mine's pretty crudded up also, only been using JHP and 3N37.
  8. Like you I was looking for lighter spring to install in my HK45, just like what I did my other pistols if I can't find them I just cut the stock one. One coil at a time. I took the stock spring, cut 2 coils and it worked very well with 4.1 Clays no FTE or FTF. Front sight returns faster. I can take 2nd shot much quicker now. I only shot 100 rounds so far. Will continue testing this load and spring combo. Would like to chrono this combo to check if I'm getting Major PF. With my 1911, I was shooting 3.8 Clays and I was only getting 150 PF. HK45 stock springs looks like ISMI springs that I used for my Glocks. I'm ordering a 13 and 15 lb springs to try next.
  9. I believe the OP was refering to the picture on your web site showing the old powder measure with springs. yup, I was referring to the springs. I was going to order a Quick Change Kit on the web site and noticed that. I didn't know that was the old type. The fail safe system works very well for me and haven't had any squib loads so far since I started using the 650 and I'll stick with it. Thank you for all the replies.
  10. I noticed on the Dillon's website, on the XL 650 Quick Change Kit (picture) that there are 2 pieces of what I think are rubber bands attached to the powder measure body and to the powder bar. Is this something new that Dillon added recently? Because I don't remember seeing these parts when I received my 650 last year. I can see that these will help in getting the powder bar return quickly. I'm going to check my spare parts kit if they have these if not I will be using regular rubber bands. thanks,
  11. I got a tungsten guide rod (captured 13 lb) from Glockmeister last Friday, tried it this past weekend and sold it yesterday. It did not make any difference as far as recoil absorbing on my Gen4 G17. Only thing it did was made my pistol heavier. The Gen4 stock double spring guide rod works well enough not to replace it. I'm shooting 130+ PF. YMMV.
  12. I think I first voted No, want to change that to a Yes now. Used my G17 for the first time in a local match this past weekend and got bitten. Never got bitten when shooting at the range non-action shooting
  13. Chief, can't watch your video it's marked as private. thanks for letting me know, fixed it...
  14. I have the same set up that I use here in Hawaii, average temp 80-90+. The beach umbrella really comes in handy, and you're right that every body wants to hang around you between shoots
  15. if this is the same Brandon that answers you when you email customer service, he's taken cared of me also when I had issues with SV tubes. Outstanding customer service!
  16. 2 years ago I was in the same boat trying to decide between the Ruger or the M41. Even though it cost twice as much as the Ruger I went with the M41. At that time I thought I was going to shoot Bullseye matches. Model 41 is extremely accurate, has a sweet trigger that you can adjust to your liking ( I still haven't adjusted mine from the factory). No issues when shooting with CCI standard velocity ammo, always 100% reliable. You can assemble/disassemble this pistol very easily unlike the Ruger. A couple of weeks ago I shot my first Steel Challenge in Open and rimfire. I was faster with my M41. Even though it was set up for bullseye with Ultra Dot Match and Randall Fung grips, it handled very well in transition and accuracy. A real blast to shoot in SC. I have no experience with the Ruger, but it may change soon. My buddy is picking up a Ruger 22/45 in 14 days and he's planning to put a Tac Sol upper. That could be interesting.
  17. Just came back from the range today shooting with my buddy, had a round that did not go bang. I then checked the round there's a dimple. Then tried to fire again still didn't go bang. So I figured after 2 tries must be a dud primer. My buddy took the same round and shot it in his open pistol and it went off. He told me he's using an extended firing pin. Came home and did search on about extended firing pin, found this topic. I now am convinced, getting one installed in my open gun.
  18. approx what's the round count?
  19. Welcome to the Forums! I'm quite new here too myself. I see you're from San Diego, I was stationed there for 10 years left in 2001. Back then I didn't caught the practical shooting bug yet. How is the practical shooting scene there? Do you have weekly local matches and where? I used to shoot at the police range by Hwy 94 and at a indoor shooting range in Clairemont. Aloha and thanks!
  20. I can take out the slide stop easily, pull it straight out, enough to clear the frame so you can rotate down to 6 o clock position to clear the thumbrest and it's out. takes me about a few seconds to remove. I did asked Dan Bedell to install it on the first hole, don't think he did any filing to the thumb rest...
