  1. When the slide stop broke it actually broke in two pieces. There was enough left in the frame that the slide stayed on the frame. He unloaded/showed clear, holstered and then took his gun directly to the safety area to disassemble it. Nils gun did not break during his run. The RO gave the command to make ready, the start was unloaded gun in the table. When Nils put his gun on the table the safety fell off. After getting permission from the RO he went to the safe area to fix his gun. Thanks for that clarification. Makes more sense now. Hopefully it was the Range Master and not the Match Director. yea, my fault. It was the RM and not the MD.
  2. Shot the NC Section today. Had a shooter in our squad who appeared to have a jam/malfunction. Attempted to clear the issue. While trying to clear the issue the slide stop fell off of the gun and on the ground (it obviously broke). He shoots a CZ and this is, apparently, common with this CZs. The RO calls a stoppage (note....the shooter did not stop himself, the RO called a stoppage). The shooter asked for a reshoot. The MD was called but a reshoot was not given to the shooter. I did not hear the conversation but I could see that they had the rule book out and were using it to make a decision. What is the correct call on this situation? I was under the impression that if the RO calls the stoppage, and the shooter has a broken part, a reshoot is granted. Isn't that what happened to Nils at the Limited Nationals? I am genuinely curious. I am not an RO and have no clue what rule was used to support the call.
  3. I do try and keep my gauge clean. I clean it with alcohol on a regular basis. However, I have never actually used a light to look down in the gauge. I will do that also. Thanks.
  4. Sorry, I should have stated in my orig post....this is 9mm only. 1) I have never actually tried checking after resizing. I will run some through that stage and see how they gauge. 2) My crimp is probably a little loose but I have never had any problems with it. If it helps any I am using Bayou Bullets 9mm FP. I am able to use a majority of my bad rounds in practice. I do get several that are so out of whack that I just pull them and reuse. I will also try gauging directly in the barrel. I am shooting a CZ 75.
  5. Need some help/suggestions please. I have a Dillon 550 with Dillon dies. For the last couple of months I have had a very aggravating problem with a large number of my reloads not case gauging. By 'large number' I mean 20 out of every 100. I have checked and double checked my set up but can't figure out why I am having this problem. I ended up buying a Lee U die hoping that would resolve my problem. No luck. I loaded 100 rounds 2 nights ago and I had 21 rounds that didn't case gauge (completely and unassisted fall into the gauge and fall out when turned upside down). Luckily, most of them I can still use for practice but some are so bad that I have to pull them to reuse the bullet and primer (the brass gets thrown out). Any ideas or suggestions on how to correct this? Can I provide any other info or pictures that may help in trouble shooting this? It is really starting to get old.
  6. I also shot this Sunday. To my recollection, this was the first time I had shot this classifier. Points Penalty Time Hit Factor 54 0 5.58 9.6774 Looks like 94.3% for Production. With this and an 88% that should be on the next classification run I should finally get the bump to master. 2 yrs and 5 months to go from C class to M. Long process full of small steps.
  7. Can someone explain this process please? Is it a fully automated process or is there manual intervention that takes place? I assume that there is manual intervention. Otherwise, I just can't imagine why anything, nationals or otherwise, would case a delay. .
  8. I agree in that the half day format was nice. Not rushed but not so long that you start to get worn down being out in the sun all day. I will also agree that the shirts for this match are, by far, the coolest and best shooting style shirts I have ever seen offered at a match. Kudos to whoever decided on that company and the logos.
  9. When I ordered my CZ about 3 months ago it came with 2 plated mags and I orderd 6 more. I then purchased 2 of the black mags. IMO, the plated mags seem to be smoother when reloading/dropping a mag. It may be mental but it just seems that way to me. I use the black ones as my LAMR mag and in my 1st mag pouch. I do that since they have the thicker base plate and, since they get dropped the most, they stand up to the abuse better. I do like the plated ones more though. YMMV.
  10. I was on the squad behind the squad in which the shooter in question was shooting. There were, literally, 20 people standing around watching. Shooter broke the 180 with 3 shots. The RO immediately called a stop and DQ'd the shooter. The shooter then proceeded to protest. The RM was called, a 20+ (most likely more) minute debate was had, and the DQ was overturned. There was no doubt he broke the 180. Not sure how I would feel if I were the RO and had that call overturned.
  11. Shot this classifier this past Saturday. I thought I had a decent run but it only came out to about 76%. I slightly fumbled the reload on the second string which caused to me rush and I pulled a C. Tough one... Points Penalty Time Hit Factor Stg Pts Stage Percent 98 0 7.71 12.7108 96.9831 96.98%
  12. You didn't say which grain you are using (I use their 147 gr) but your 4.7 gr of WSF is going to be way overpowered. I shoot 147gr with 4.1 gr of WSF and get about 890-910ish out of them in a CZ 75. I just ordered another 6000 from Donnie this week. Call him up and he will work with you. Great guy..
  13. I currently have a BladeTech DOH holster that I am not very hapy with and am looking to get another one. It needs to fit a CZ75. I really wanted a Ready Tactical but finding one that fits a CZ 75 is next to impossible. Chris with CPWSA had a thread for them about 2 years ago so I know they make them but I just can't find any available. Anyone have any experience with the DAA PDR holster? http://www.doublealpha.biz/ipsc-holsters-rigs/holsters/PDR_Low_Ride_Holster
  14. Anyone heard or know about stages yet? Last year they had them posted rather early. Still have last years stages on the website.

    Favorite brass

I'm with W_Buck on this one. Mine will take whatever brass I am using at that time. I used to sort all my brass and only use Federal or WIN for matches but I don't bother sorting now. Just clean and load. Case or barrel gauging is a necessity though, IMO.
  16. Hi all. I just ran out of my MG bullets and was able to order 3000 147gr FP Bayou Bullets. Now I need to come up with a load, or at least a place to start. I did a search but an not finding a lot on the internet specifically about Bayou's and WSF. I will shooting these out of a CZ and, since these are FP bullets, I will be loading a little shorter than I normally did with my RN MG's. The best load that I have run across so far is 3.6gr of WSF at a AOL of 1.115. I ran my 147gr MG's at 4.2gr of WSF at an AOL of 1.135 (or there abouts). Anyone have any experience with Bayou's and WSF powder? Thanks.

    "Shadow Line"

Well, this owner of the 75 is a friend so I will have no problem backing out if I wish. I will be fine with the Shadow Line at the ProAm in July However, my concern is the GA State Match on August 30. What would ya'll suggest? Just shoot limited 10 minor? That puts me at such a disadvantage. And then there is the NC Sectional in October. Oh, and Will, very nice match on Sunday!

    "Shadow Line"

Final update on this. I shot my last match with my Shadow Line yesterday. I found an almost like new regular CZ75 that I am trading on. Going to gut my gun to get all the parts that Stuart put in and have them installed on the new CZ75. I just need to buy new Shadow Line grips to replace the ones I destroyed from dry firing. The dumbest thing about all of this? Aside from the grips the two guns are identical. You can't tell them apart. Just silly that I am having to do this.
  19. I think you will like it. But, even coming from a Glock it took, and still is taking, a lot of getting used to. You, coming from a CZ, might not have that much of a problem. But, once you get used to it you will really like it. Closest thing to a 1911 trigger you get can on a DA/SA trigger, IMO.

    124 vs 147 POI

Others might have a different experience but I had a huge difference in POI between 124's and 147's. With the stock sights on my CZ75 (Shadow Line) I was hitting 6 inches high with my 147gr bullets at 15 yrds. When I tested the 124's I was only about an inch high with the same stock sights. I then tested my 147gr bullets with a new 6.5mm (taller) front sight and am now shooting POA=POI out to 25 yrds. I am shooting Montana Gold 147 gr bullets using 4.2gr of WSF powder at 1.135 AOL

    New to me Shadow

I assume this was, obviously, after our steel match on Sunday? Nice find and good timing. You going to do anything to it (trigger work most likely)? You keeping those thin grips?

    "Shadow Line"

Yeah, I prob shouldn't have gone with the Shadow line. I do believe I will be looking for a regular CZ 75 in the near future.
