  1. Bushing. I have a 6" bushing with a phoenix steel grip. Weighs 48oz empty. Balances great and very Soft shooting
  2. Been dryfiring pretty regular. I shot our big 8 stage steel match at our local club. Shot okay started off sloppy but got it cleaned up. I shot my limited gun in both limited and open. Took first limited and 3rd in open with it. This weekend is the wa state steel championship. I finally made a 135gr .40 minor load. Shoots super sweet. Going to go give it hell this weekend.
  3. Another great looking gun. Atlas has been great to deal with
  4. Nice if it runs half as good as the 6" I got from Adam you are going to love it
  5. Probably not even worthwhile to compare two different makes of barrel. For accuracy you'd need to compare in a before and after coating manor with identical test conditions. I'd say it's not a worthwhile venture for this coating in an application for increased velocity. However coated vs jacketed bullets have been much faster for us. The coating let us pull .2 to .3 gr from the load and keep the same power factor.
  6. Until this year not really any practice. Random 15 min of dryfire a couple times a month. 1-2 matches a month. No live fire between. Made M this way. This year I'm trying to dryfire about 15-40min a night pretty regularly. Only have had 2 practice sessions and still doing 1-2 matches a month. I've really picked up consistency with dryfire. Match shooting seems pretty easy now as far as difficulty of making shots. Looking forward to improving.
  7. Just free parts? Sounds to me like he's fixing someone else's problems.
  8. Are the .40 stepped like that also? Are they an old design if they are?
  9. I've seen this issues related to the 9mm mags for open. I'm sure it works the same for the limited .40 setups as well. Just looking for confirmation that the mbx tube with taran parts makes a badass mag.
  10. Has anybody swapped out the guys in these for the taran tactical spring and follower? The stock setup isn't working for my limited gun. Changed to taran mags and it runs like a top. Was getting failure to feed with the mbx. Seems like too much spring pressure.
  11. Shot the inland empire sectional today. Finished 6th in limited. Not bad considering the level of competition and that it was my first full uspsa match of the year. I shot well, calling all shots but was slow. Slow getting into and out of position but I only had 1 penalty all day on a no shoot on the last stage. Dryfire has helped tremendously. I used to just be a hoser and would throw wild shots and sometimes not know where they went. Now it's much more measured. I just need to speed up a little and clean some things up
  12. I had two 100% scores when I was a B that never counted
  13. Can I be addled? Limited A69094
  14. Maybe the bore is a larger diameter in a batch of voodoo carriers causing poor gas sealing?
  15. If that's your only two choices go SVI
  16. Had a live fire practice yesterday. Dryfire is seriously helping. After all the shooting I've done I finally feel like I'm starting to figure things out. Grip is the most important thing for me. Yesterday we were running accelerator from the stoeger books. I ran it in 5.86 all A's cold. Then ran it back to front a couple times. I also ran some other drills that I shot perfectly clean a few times. I used to never do that. We also did draws and transitions on an 8" round at 12yds. Draw times were pretty good at 1.15 from a surrender position. I love making progress.
  17. A 185gr.45 vs a 180gr .40 why the difference in spring?
  18. Funny but why the different spring rates recomended for the same power factor between .40 and .45? Most say 12.5 for .40 and 14 for .45 but if the same power factor why?
  19. I don't know what's going on. I'm starting to enjoy dryfire. I like the relaxation of it after putting the kids to bed. Down to the basement to dryfire 30-45min a night now. I feel like I'm making improvements. Reloads are much cleaner, working on grip and shooting A's. I really feel like it's getting better more consistent. I can't wait for the next live fire to verify what I feel.

    Bill Drill times

Fastest I've done is 1.55 but dropped 1 high Charlie.
  21. Had a good week of dryfire. Worked on reloads, gripping the gun hard, and making sure to really watch the front sight hard. Shot a steel match today and everything is working great. Paid attention to my grip while on the clock finally. What a huge difference in my accuracy and sight tracking at speed. I think I should have won today's match pretty handily. It's nice to finally leave a match being satisfied with my shooting. Hopefully I can keep this up coming into the sectional match in a couple weeks.
  22. Well it's been way too long since I've updated here. Shooting season has been off to a slow start for me as far as matches go. I've shot some indoor league and shot my first uspsa match of the year a couple weeks ago. It was a classifier match though so not a real great assessment on where I am this year. I have been dryfiring fairly regularly, much better than last year. I picked up a new 6" limited gun from a member here. The thing is epic with a steel grip. It's from the guys at atlas gunworks. If their other guns run half as good as this you have nothing to worry about. I've been shooting locally with nickb45. It's been nice having somebody come up that can push me and gives me a little extra motivation to stay up on the dryfire. Looking forward to what this year has in store.
