  1. I tried downloading the apk file again and even tried on another Nook, still got the parsing error. I also tried the previous version, .15, with the same issue. I am downloading to an SD card, inserting the card while the Nook is on and use AndExplorer to go to the file and click on it. That is when I get the parsing error. Any ideas, am I doing something wrong? Thanks
  2. I did not put the marketplace on our NSTs and figured I would just use the SD card. I have downloaded the .apk file from Practiscore and when I plug the sd card into the NST I can go to AndExplorer and see the file. What do I need to do from there? If I click on the file I get a window that says there is a problem parsing the package On my Samsung that I use with a keyboard for match sign up I could easily download the update from the Play store. Just not sure what to do to update the NSTs we use for scoring. Thanks
  3. Glad to say I am in, this will make all 3 years for me. Still cannot be gone the extra day so have to shoot AM again this year but better than missing it!
  4. I had major reconstruction done on mine back in the Army, one of the worst the surgeon had ever had to do. I had a full year of PT just about every day starting 10 weeks after(it was bad enough they waited much longer than normal). By that time the scar tissue was pretty set and a large part of the PT was slowly breaking it down and getting most of my range of motion back. If you can make it during the next few weeks I really suggest it, there was no way I could have done what needed to be done on my own. It took 2 to 3 at PT to do it. Good luck. I need to have less major work done on my off hand but just cannot bring myself to go through it again right now,

    Stage Idea

I assume you are using the Level 1 exemption for round count then, right? Other than the ring toss, I really like the layout of stage. Looks like some good shoot on the move, a longer shot that will be forgotten by some and a good amount of hosing at the end. I think am going to borrow it if you don't mind!
  6. I had thought about an old router I have around here, but it will be easier to just have the puck in my bag and stick it in my pocket and walk around to the squads if I am going to sync. Most of the time I am shooting and ROing in my squad, along with the normal things that come up in a match so I won't be doing much of the syncing until the end anyway. Thanks again for the help.
  7. Ok, thanks. I also just realized that the number changes each time the wireless goes on and off. I am using a Verizon puck and I was wondering why I could not get a couple of the NSTs to go online, I had run out of devices I could have online. When one would go to sleep another could connect, I will have to keep that in mind if I sync during the match. No big deal afterwards.
  8. Bill, when I go to the sync page on the NST I don't see a list of devices. I am having to type in the sync code of the device I want to pull from. Changing the name did not do change this. Is this normal on the andriods? I know on the iPad the various iPods or other devices show up in a list. Thanks
  9. Love the tip, thanks! Just put mine together for ours. In grayscale of course
  10. Thanks Bill, I was wondering how to rename them but had not had a chance to play around yet. We generally have the Palms stay with the squads but same idea. SEPSA had changed over to iPods running the app and I have liked it but they found they need to put a battery pack on them to be sure they make it through a match and with my big fingers the devices just seem a bit small. I think these NSTs will be perfect, especially with the excellent screen in the sun. Hope to get a chance to work with them before the end of Dec. match but might not until Christmas. Our Palms are crapping out one by one, and that is with getting SEPSA's old ones.
  11. Yeah, wishing I had not been so quick to start on mine! Oh well, perseverance and a few drinks and no worse for wear. Hope it helps others NOT to load version 1.2 and have to go through it all.
  12. Right, if you do the one on Barnes and Noble's site it will be 1.2 I cannot find the link used the other night! I have the file and if we have a way I can post it but maybe Bill has the link he used for the earlier version.
  13. All new to me, but got it done! Luckily my brother had the patience to get all 5 that I had updated to reset by #2. It does NOT work the same way each time, but he kept at it. I spent that whole time getting the 6th NST reset after totally botching the install the first time whenI missed the part about registering, don't ask me how I did that! The directions worked just fine once I was able to get version 1.1.0 installed, thank you Chris. I am Tim Currie, the pres./MD for CAPS in Brunswick. I met you last year at GA State, but had a death in the family this year and missed it. Saw your email on Fri. and headed to the store to get 6 for the club, thanks! I had hoped to do this early next year and wanted to go this route so it was good timing. All are loaded, time to play with the app!
  14. Ok, we finally got the NSTs back to the original version 1.0.1 We had to do the power button 6 times version of the reset explained in the rooting instructions in the other post. All other resets left the new 1.2 version installed. We have the 1 set that I originally put 1.1 on and have updated the others to 1.1. Now on to rooting them! For those who don't know, there appears to be an issue with using the rooting instructions when you put version 1.2 on the NST.
  15. I was able to find version 1.1 online, is there a way to remove 1.2 and install 1.1 for rooting? Just rooted the one that I was able to put 1.1 on and it worked fine. Worried about trying 1.2 again. Thanks
  16. I am trying to do the root from the instructions in the other thread but am running into a problem. I picked up the NSTs today with the good deal they had and now have 6 for our club. I installed the update but it was 1.2. I followed the instructions but after removing the SD card and rebooting I am stuck on the ...starting up... screen. Any ideas? Cannot shut down, cannot seem to go forward. Thanks.
  17. Especially with light loads. I have to really watch it when shooting 40 minor in 3-gun with lighter recoil springs and loading the mags up to full. Same thing can be said for AR mags. You want the top round in the mag when loaded full to have some "give" when you push down on it.
  18. Yep, it sure helps! Also makes for an easy answer when people ask how you get to shoot so much. I am guessing that means a wife (and/or kids) must be expensive, they never ask again Ended up shooting 7 between USPSA, 3-gun and the ProAm, but missed 2 others last minute due to deaths in the family. Hopefully no more of that next year so more matches.
  19. This is the reason to NOT overlay the scoring perfs exactly unless required (like in some of the classifiers, particularly older ones). It was even a topic we talked about in the RO class with the recommendation not to lay the pefs on each other. Besides, it is hard to get it exactly right that way.
  20. I keep seeing things like "I would give the shooter the option of a reshoot, etc. Correct me if I am wrong but there is only one reshoot that is "optional" and that is interference by the RO. And in that case the shooter must choose prior to seeing the score/targets or time. Example, a shooter suddenly changes direction and the RO barely gets out of the way but either barely touches the shooter or may have impeded the shooter's movement. When it comes to REF there is only the option of the shooter MUST reshoot. We had a case where a shooter did not want to reshoot after a plate fell from a hit on the stand and said to just give him the miss. I was called as the MD/RM and had to tell the shooter it was either a 0 for the stage or a reshoot- only options. In the case of the target stick it would be a harder call as to movement of the target but it is still up to the RO to either require the reshoot or not. "What do you want to do" to the shooter is not an option. RO, make the call and then it can go up the chain if needed.
  21. Yep, may limit your options for reloading when moving, not to mention the time or two when you drag a 2nd mag out on accident and leave it behind. Then there is the Florida Open, 6 on the belt one in the gun for sure in Production! And the monster match in production- have not shot it yet but from what hear, how much space do you have on your belt???
  22. While I am sure some USPSA courses of fire could be adapted, most would be tough. In general we use "walls", barrels, etc. as vision barriers/hard cover to induce movement within a shooting area. Ideally this will leave multiple ways to shoot a stage but it does not mean you could/would use them as "cover". For example, a COF I designed for today's match had the shooter pick up their gun from the table, load and engage 4 targets from that point of the shooting area because they could only be seen from there. There was also 1 target on each side of the shooting bay at the far end of the course that COULD be engaged from there but did not have to be. In IDPA I believe they would have to have been engaged from there. If a shooter did not want to take the long shots on those two, you could also engage them from the very front of the course much closer but it would require the shooter to move to the each side to the end of the wall to get them. If you shot the long shots then you just had to shoot through the two middle ports to finish the stage. Basically the choice was slower, longer shots or more distance to cover and to get faster short shots. Would never have been legal in IDPA.
  23. 40 posts and going strong!! Who says the posters on the rules forum cannot keep a thread going
  24. Your welcome. I think a moderator will need to do that, usually one will come along and see it. They also will clean it up as the thread gets longer and get rid of the earlier posts.
  25. Here you go, just formatted them. Never to early to start. If each person who adds just hits the reply so it quotes the previous post the links will stay active. Also nice if you add- edit: and what you added to the bottom I am not sure if they list local ones here, if the Johnson ones are local. Someone else will let you know I am sure.
