  1. The sp-01 shadow frame doesn't have the fpb lifter so it has the pre b sear. Also the hammer is wider on the shadow to where it won't fit in the rear of a b slide. The hammer doesn't cam back on the shadow like a standard b hammer and it breaks cleaner. Thank you for the information and all the input from everyone else. Like I said I am extremely satisfied with the product and not complaining, I just was looking for an explanation why it seemed different than all the other ones I had seen pics posted of. As far as test targets go, is 4" group about the average to expect from these? seems like the research I had did before I bought this they were expected to be quite a bit tighter shooting than this. The best match gun in world only shoots as good as the person pulling trigger. Not saying you can't shoot. Just saying, this is why many companies have stopped giving accuracy guarantees. Joe Blow who shoots 500 rounds a year wants to get pissed because this $4,000 1911 he bought isn't on paper at 25 yards although they give him a 2.5" guarantee with the gun....then Joe Blow claims it's the guns fault and not his. "The best match gun in world only shoots as good as the person pulling trigger. ;)" I 100% agree and I do not claim to be a good shot, i know that the gun will out shoot me any day, I am just saying the Test Targets I had seen of others seemed to be much tighter than my 4" test target. Erics4069, I did not have any custom work done on this one so it is bone stock. Is 4" about average for a stock shadow? if you look closely at your target is says distance 25 meters i believe? this looks like the computerized factory target fired in Czecheslovakia (sp). The paper targets you see posted with actual bullet holes in them are from CZ Custom Shop I think and are fired at a closer distance and do show quite abit smaller groups but not really a good comparison. I'll try to check the distance listed on mine. Eric
  2. SP01 Shadow and SP01 Shadow Custom are two different things as well. (Shadow Custom has a lot of custom action work etc added to a base Shadow). Did you just order a Shadow without all the custom work of a Shadow Custom? eric
  3. Click on the link and the stages are viewable. There is no cost or requirement to pay the website. I can see them but cannot get them to print out, it says I should pay to become a scribd website member. Eric
  4. Shooters problem, not the RO's problem, should not have stopped shooter. Eric
  5. +1 I would just try 124 and 147 and see which is more accurate in your gun. Agree steel doesn't go down as well with 115 although I end up using walmart 115 often enough for local matches when I have been to lazy to load. Eric
  6. Have never seen this other than as mentioned in the rule book. Eric
  7. I don't agree with this for two reasons: 1. Who cares what gun/sights the M class shooter uses? they will "skew the results" regardless and I don't worry about them (not being M class myself). 2. I would like to be able to bring along a backup gun just in case my dot battery goes out (or any other substantial malfunction). My back up would be any qualifying gun I happened to own but would probably not have an optic. I don't see why that would be a problem. If the dot is an advantage then my backup gun would be at a disadvantage anyway. Eric
  8. any way to see the stage designs without paying to join that scribd website listed above? Eric
  9. overall agree but I would wish for no restriction on location of grip tape/stippling in CO to accommidate those who already have those items on CO type guns in non Production type locations. Eric
  10. I would prefer to also continue excluding mag-wells personally Eric
  11. I think the rules need to be clarified on that issue, the use of an Optic is marked as YES but it should be MANDATORY. I fired off a question to DNROI. At this point optic does not appear mandatory as I read the rule. I see no need for it to be mandatory either. Eric
  12. The second way is to sign up for the waitlist, and once all the unclaimed slots go back to HQ you have a chance to get in at-large. As long as it is a stand alone Production Nationals they can handle alot of shooters, this year I had no trouble getting a leftover slot. Eric
  13. trigger pull smoothes up with time, would be nice to handle and try several to see which feels best (unless you are just going to replace Apex parts anyway) Eric
  14. Mine was doing that at the Production Nationals last week no less. Matt Mink's shop was there and they looked it over finding the tip of my firing pin was burred. They replaced the extended firing pin and firing pin spring at lunch hour so I could continue shooting the match. Great service! Eric
  15. got my Deltapoint mounted on my MP9 bedside gun, very easy to shoot small groups, looking forward to trying it in the match next wk. Eric
  16. Who is forcing you to read the new posts? if you don't care don't click the topic.... come on, he's just picking up the slack for Sarge who doesn't seem to be interested in posting here that he's not interested ....
  17. I had to do this too, the bevel is key so you dont have to remove as much of the actual edge. (also left handed) Eric
  18. That is no secret, exactly what Ben writes in his books regarding major match strategy. Eric
  19. Don't worry, there are some complex 31-32 shot memory stages too, with classic Ray Hirst type design (multiple angles, multiple options, multiple hidden targets easy to skip) Eric
  20. Here is the cut feeling I was referring to. I think it is because of the sharp profile of the beavertail on CZ vs. the round profile on my current platform (MP9s). Overtime I believe I should be able to overcome it once the callus forms. Yep, I have a visible callus right there. Eric
  21. nope, is an externally visible modification
  22. the Shadow DA/SA trigger is so nice most people including me can get used to the DA/SA transition just fine. IF you want to shoot a Shadow as though it were SA only just cock the hammer, put the safety on "safe" , then draw, sweep the safety "off" and shoot like you would if it were SA only. Eric
  23. Rem UMC 115 is well known as pretty low Power Factor. Any other brand of factory 115 or 124 or 147 I have chronoed has been fine. For example WWB 115 gr comes in about 136-137 PF in my MP9. Eric
