  1. Go with the one Brian has that has the life time warranty. It has a bubble so you can level the scale. I have worked with scales alot and this is important. I have a Dillon, I have on a small granite block that has been leveled. ONE caution about digital scales you MUST have a good solid work bench to put it on, and no FANS blowing air around. This will blow your mind.
  2. Hello Warren, I just started shooting production with a CZ75 SP 01 Shadow. I am shooting Montana Gold 115 & 124 grain JHP. I am going to shoot the 115 grain, over 4.2 grains of TiteGroup, with Federal or Winchester primers. This gives me a 130 power factor. I have a 550B also. The military brass you will have to swage the primer pocket before you can get another primer in. As for as more brass go to my profile and PM me or send an E-Mail and I can fix you up with once fired, cleaned & polished cheap brass.
  3. I have never tried the mirror before. Will do that tomorrow night when I practice. Thanks for the tip.
  4. Take good care of your body everyone. The older you get the harder it is to recover. My wife keeps me pretty straight. First thing in the morning I have Cardio Whey Protein. Then later I have my first meal. I try to eat 4 times a day, small meals. Alot of Veggies, light on the red meat. Fish Oil is important for the heart. Can't run any more for long distance, so we walk alot. Weights, just enough to keep my muscle tone. WATCH THE BACK, DON'T BEND AT THE WAIST TO PICK THINGS UP, don't care if it is a pencil. Squat, this makes the legs stronger also. My wife takes pretty good care of me, she wants to keep me around so she can have someone to pick on. Ha!!!!!!!
  5. My table is 40" high, (I have a 550) and I do not have the strong mount. But I use a 30" bar stool to sit on when I reload. All the other work I do I stand on a soft mat my wife bought for me, and I am 5' 10". My table top is maple laminated 8' x 3' x 2" with 4x4 legs, and to really make it steady take a piece of angle and on each end fasten it to the wall. If you have an electronic scale you don't want any movement. Hope this helps.
  6. Hello Ranger 88, Welcome to the forum, you will find alot of information about shooting. Learn to use the search engine, alot of info there. Would Greenville be a good place to retire?
  7. I have been selling brass and have learned alot form this thread. I have had people tell me they didn't want certain brass so I would sort it out. They didn't seem to know why the primer wouldn't go in. I know about A-Merc, and in the 9mm I sort out the WCC and S&B. Now the S&B I didn't know some of it was steal. I have been loading some in 9mm and it ran fine through my CZ. I know the S&B runs ok in my 45's. The primer pocket seems a little tight with the S&B but have not had any problems with my 550. Will have to check the WCC. The 45, WCC cannot get a primer seated.
  8. Ok Guy's, I am going to tell you right up front. Before I retired I worked with alot of precision scales, and I am here to tell you this scale should be outstanding. Being able to level the scale is a big plus. I have a Dillion scale, not very old. If it wasn't for that I would get one. After I pay my taxes may get one anyway. Good research Brian, great price.
  9. I find alot of the NT 45 brass. Can you reload these with the small primers, and will the primer be hot enough?
  10. Just got my Production gun this week, I shoot Limited 10 also. I practice alot with my eyes close. This helps to build muscle memory. But with the eyes open you still have to look the magazine into the mag well. I learn this from fly fishing at night. I use to throw 65 to 75 feet of line and now I can throw 85 to 90 feet of line, in the day time. Chris I am going to try some of your suggestions. Keeping the head and arms up, facing the next target and not inserting the magazine in all the way.
  11. I have a set of precision weights, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 grams. Every time I reload I zero my scale with the 50 gram weight, and then double check it with with these five. I have a Dillion also. Works great.
  12. Thanks everyone, I will sell as is.
  13. Hope I am not breaking any rules here. I sell 40 cal. brass, twenty five dollars a thousand. My question is, should I run the brass through a sizing die to take out the bulge, and raise the price. I don't reload 40 cal. but here alot about the Glock bulge, and I see it in the brass. Just like to know how bad the problem really is for the ones that reload 40 cal.
  14. I have two Kimbers and load 200 grain LSWC over 4.15 grains of clays. These are Missouri bullets. I have also loaded a 230 grain JHP over 4.0 grains of clays, these were Montana Gold. Both very accurate.
  15. I loaded some at 1.250 over 4.1 grains of clays, they were about 160 PF. But in my gun (Kimber) they were not as accurate as the 200 grain LSWC. I load these at 1.250 over 4.15 grains of clays and have about 168 PF. I do like the Missouri Bullets.
  16. How do you keep the shrapnel from hitting the walls when you shoot the steal? If you have this problem you can use 55gal. plastic barrels and cut them out to put the steal inside. They work great.
  17. It would all come down to how many stages you have. If you have 4 stages then you would have to have 4 groups. If everyone works then it goes smooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have the RO, Score Keeper, one shooter reloading, one shooter getting ready to shoot (reviewing the stage). Everyone else should be working, pasting, setting steal, picking up brass etc. I think 10 to 12 is a good squad.
  18. I am a now RO. Have not thought about running Deaf Shooters. This is very interesting and helpful.
  19. I shoot Missouri Bullets and load OAL 1.250 over 4.1 grains of Clay. I have two Kimbers and this works great. Have loaded an OAL range from 1.245 to 1.260 and had no problems with feeding. If you do have a feeding problem check the magazines.
  20. You will love USPSA, and Limited is a good class to shoot. And some of the guys I shoot with will shoot Limited 10. I shoot Limited 10 with a 45. Getting a production gun this month.
  21. I have a Kimber Eclips and a Team Match 45 I shoot Missouri Bullets LSWC 200gr over 4.2gr of Clays loaded to 1.255. I also have a Dillion 550 and have just converted it to 9mm and it is so simple. I loaded some 9mm's that have been shot through a Glock and did not have any feeding problems through my SpringField EMP. A frend of mine shot some through his CZ and they ran fine in it. I don't have my New CZ yet, getting it in about 3 weeks.
  22. Get the USPSA Handgun Competition Rules, January 2008. With the gun you have you can shoot Single Stack Division, or the Limited 10 Division. Appendix D3 explains the Limited-10 Division and Appendix D5 explains the Single Stack. There is a big difference between the two. Go on line USPSA.COM and down load the rule book. Be Safe, have fun
  23. I have about 1500 pieces, and probably have more later, would it be worth swaging this?
  24. I have been shooting Nickel in my 45acp. I'am on my 6th reload with these, (major). I plan to keep track of these. Seems like the brass ones are like the energized bunny, I just keep using them.
  25. When I started shooting I had trouble with the front sight. My doctor had me bring my gun into the exam room, and we had the door open so I could aim out the window. He played around with different lenses untill we came up with a set that would work. I see the sight very well but out at 15yd + I have a hard time seeing the holes. But if you can call your shots you don't need to see the holes. HA! Anyway the new glasses work great for me. Also have a bifocal in the bottom.
