  1. Mine do the same thing. I called Dillon and they said it was nothing to worry about.
  2. I was at apex picking up my revolver and asked them the same question about my M&P that had a competition trigger installed. You have 2 choices. 1. Move your trigger finger down a little on the trigger. Pull the trigger with your finger on the bottom (lowes part) of the trigger and no snag. This will disengage the trigger safety with out hitting the frame. If you are like me I didn't like that option. 2. One of the apex gun smiths took a file and removed a very little bit from the the part of the trigger (the part that stickes out on the back of the trigger) that contacted the frame. Do this a little at a time. You do not want to remove too much! To much means no safety. A little and... No snag. As for as the spring...I don't know. The kit was made to go together so I would put it in. I don't think the spring would have anything to do with the snag.
  3. I would buy them if you can find them. The primer is a little harder so if you are shooting a revolver with a litend trigger or an outo with a litend trigger it will not work well. A stock gun should be fine. It will add about 25 feet per sec. to yorr load-not a big deal.
  4. At our ruger Rimfire matches we have to adjust the sensitivity on the timers to the most sensitive. Then as long as the the receiver from the timer is facing the end of the barrel and the timer is in front of the shooters body it works fine. Its a great excuse to get a comp like John Allchin sells. The comp makes the gun louder and looks cool.
  5. 1. Ruger 2. Browning buck ark I have both and they are both great guns. My I pad changed it to buck ark it should say buckmark
  6. I think the Piru Range has some good rim fire matches that are great for kids and is near you. We shoot at the Hogue Action Pistol Range in San luis Obispo and my kids started out shooting the Ruger Rimfire matches around 9 years old. That is a great place to start learning fundamentals without having to worry about running to different targets and reloading on the clock. At our local range, they let Jrs. shoot Rimfire in USPSA, IDPA, AND ICORE. I don't think most ranges will have a problem with a jr. using a Rimfire in any match as long as they are safe. We all want to see the future of the sport continue and it can only continue if our kids keep it going. I started my kids on iron sights - but a lot of my decision was based on finances. My M&P is a lot cheaper than STI. If they learn to shoot iron sights, they will really appreciate shooting with a dot if you choose to go that route. However, if they shoot with a dot first, it will be hard for them to ever want to shoot iron sights. Pm me if you want to come up to the central coast some weekend to our range and have your daughter shoot with my kids. I have a 10 year old boy and 12 year old girl. They have the big central coast Rimfire championship match here and Jrs. shoot for free. The prize table is random draw, so it can be really encouraging to these shooters just starting out to be able to win prizes. Check out slosa.org for more info.
  7. and when they do.....I hope Brina posts about it! Oh trust me - I WILL! Brina (Jeremy's wife )
  8. I should have written this post months ago. I wanted to thank a few people and Brian Enos Forum as a whole. I had originally posted an ad in the Classifieds entitled “Jr. Shooter Needs”. I was looking to get a good deal on some used equipment for my 10 year old son and 12 year old daughter who were just starting to shoot USPSA. None of these members asked for thanks or anything in return. They just wanted to help some Jr. shooters get going in the sport. But I would personally like to thank Brian Golsalves for giving the kids a range bag (600 plus rounds and all the gear was getting pretty heavy ), deerassassin22 for a box of brass (the polish plate rack and Texas star are making a nice dent in the pile ), and Noximus03 for belts, holster, and mag pouches (now they look like real shooters ). Before this, the kids were shooting a Ruger 22/45 and loved it. Their mag pouch was made from an elastic shotgun shell holder that was mounted to their belts. The magazines slid in where the shotgun shells would have been. Crude and ugly, but effective. So needless to say, this was a huge step up for them! They were very grateful for all of your donations! This forum has been such a great source of information and I have learned a lot on here. I am very thankful for the advice and generosity of others. I don’t think my kids will ever forget the generosity showed to them and hope that it will help them to be more generous to others as they are able as well. Thank you so much! Jeremy
  9. I shoot Berrys 147 and titegroup in my M&P Pro 5". I use 3.1gr of TG loaded to 1.150 OAL. ( 130 PF) My load in my gun will shoot shoot 1" groups @ 30 feet.
  10. The Vice President could care less about shooting sports. I could see CNN running a story about shooting sports and saying we are an extreme group training and teaching others to kill people. They need to be voted out
  11. +1 for Apex Tactical. They just did a level 4 trigger job with an apex Hammer on my gun. Smooth and light.
  12. Give Apex Tactical a call (805) 528-5250.
  13. I use a .250' high SDM red FO on the front and have a Weigand .140 notch rear sight blade. I think the .140 is faster and just as accurate.
  14. I would get the PC 627 5". Then send it to Apex Tactical for an expensive( you get what you pay for) level 4 trigger job with the Apex Hammer.
  15. Just got off the phone with Apex. They are planning on making another run of sights that will have a .140 rear notch. Scott said he thinks this is a better choice for speed and accuracey. So now .... how long until they make the new sight.
  16. I will give apex a call and see what they have. If you are looking for a narrower front sight....Warren from Protocall design has a .100 front sight. I was going to give that one a try but they are too expensive for me..$50..His contact info..913-422-8966. Email is wmoore5@kc.rr.com.
  17. I have a 5" 627. I am replacing the sights with a SDM front FO sight .125 width. The rear sight I am going to use a Weigand blade. I can get it in a .125 or .140 notch. The .140 rear should be faster but will it still be accurate for 50 yard F/N Standards?
  18. I have a M&P pro 5" with Warren Tactical sights. I love these sights!
  19. The bullets would be too light. As far as I know there isn't a plastic that is that heavy.
  20. So I will most likely go with the LPA for the rear. What is the stock rear blade notch size? I am trying to decide if I want the .125 or the .140 on the LPA
  21. I was just at Apex and Scott said that they would cut the rear sight deeper and wider if you wanted it that way. So no one Has used the Weigand rear sight?
  22. I have seen a ghost ring rear sight before and did not like it. I would also like to keep my sight picture the same/similar from gun to gun. I was just looking at LPA sights. They look nice but a little expensive.
  23. I have a 627 5 inch that I will be using for icore. I want to change the sights. I am thinking of going with a SMD red fiber front sight. On the rear I was looking at going with a Weigand. The fiber on the SMD looks to be very long. Is that going to make the front sight too bright on a sunny California day?(anyone have experience with this sight.) I don't know if I should go with the .125 or the .140 Weigand rear blade. I want a sight that will be fast but I still want to be able to shoot the x ring on the 50 yard targets on the far and near standards. (I think the factory rear blade has to narrow of a rear notch) Thanks
