  1. By the way test the bullets there are only 2 160 molys that are consistently accurate at 50 yards (yes I tried them all) I did a ton of testing this last year getting ready for IRC. AND THEY ARE ???????????? I have a friend that uses 170gr. What do you thimk of those vs 160gr. Have you tried Bayou Bullets? Thanks Jeremy
  2. Thanks for all the help. I think I will try to cut down some long colts to .900. Now I need to see if one of my friends has a case trimmer. I use TG for my 9mm. Will this work for this round as well? Powder and bullet suggestions, oal? Thanks, Jeremy
  3. Where do I get them cut down? This may be a dumb question but what is the difference between 38 long colt cut down and just buying 38 super brass? I am loading on a Dillon SDB. That die set up should I run to do that?
  4. I have been using my friends 686 for a year to shoot icore(w/ 38sp). I now have my very own 627 5" .357.I am going to shoot icore only with this gun. What would be the best load to go with and why.
  5. I have been using My friends 686 for the last year and a half and have finally purchased my own smith and Wesson PC 627 .357 5" barrel. I am planning on an Apex trigger job and Herthco moon clips. I reload on a Dillon SDB. This gun will be for ICORE only. 1. I like fiber optic front sights.....What brad? 2. What moon clip holder? 3. 38 short colt or 38 special? 4. I was thinking of getting Bayou Bullets. What size/gr? 5. I use TG powder for my 9mm. Will that work for the revolver or is there a better option? 6. Holster? It would also be helpful if any knows where these can be purchased for the best price. new or used. Thanks, I will check back after vacation on sat. Jeremy
  6. I like the apex aek but it sound like that might be too light for you. The apex duty kit does the same thing as the aek but the trigger would be at 5-5.5lb. I bought a used M&P pro fron a uspsa pro and he had done zero trigger work to it. Dans videos are great if you want to do it yourself. I like the Warren tactical front and rear sights much better than the stock sights.(red fiber) I love the Ready tactical holster and mag holders.(offset) Good luck with the gun.
  7. That is too hot for my liking. I try and stay around 130-135pf. I shoot the same gun- M&P pro 5" 9mm and I run my oal at 1.15 and have never had any problems. Try to load a little longer and reduce the powder a little and go from there. I like to use 147g bullets with 3.1g of TG @ 1.15. Gives me a 130pf.
  8. I use 3.1g of Titegroup loaded to 1.15 for my M&P pro 5". I am using Berrys 147g and it makes 130 PF.
  9. I have two M&Ps. One is a 9mm pro 5" with the apex aek trigger kit and the ram. This gives the gun a great trigger. I use this gun for uspsa production and absolutely love it. My second M&P is a 40S&W pro 5". This makes a great home defense gun. I also have a 9mm conversion barrel for the 40 S&W. That way I have a second gun for my kids to shoot in uspsa production. I think she will really like the M&P because the gun is very ergonomic and the back strap can be changed to be small, med, or large. The gun is easy to clean and very reliable. Good luck
  10. Berrys 147g with 3.4g of N320 loaded to 1.15 out of the M&P pro 5" should be soft and make minor power factor.
  11. Jeremy this article may be helpful. It is hosted on 4wheelguns.com. Speedloader differences later rdd Thanks, that article explained a lot. It look likes I need to save for the SL Variant Speedloaders.
  12. How does the size of the comp II (small) compare to the comp III (bigger) when doing reloads. This should have been my first Question.... Is this a gun (ruger security six 6") worth putting the money into to make competitive?
  13. Brownells sight say that they are not made for this gun. When I called Safariland they said that the only ones for the security six were the comp II. Does the comp III work with your gun? 02 safariland comp lll speed loaders for Ruger six http://www.brownells...III-SPEEDLOADER
  14. A six shot would have a big disadvantage in limited. I really wish there was a way to convert it to an 8 shot 627. :-)
  15. Thanks, I checked out the SL Variant Speedloaders and they have them for my gun.$30 each and $10 more for the extended handle. That is pricey compared to the comp II. Is the SL Variant Speedloader worth that much more?
  16. When I called Safariland they said the Comp III will not work but the comp II will work. It might be my only option but I am still looking.
  17. That would be a good question to ask dillon. Give them a call they are very helpful. Toll Free 800-762-3845. I load on a Dillon SDB. The best powder check is you. I mounted a small LED light so that it would shine into the case with powder. Every time I set a bullet in the case I am also looking for the powder level in the case. It takes no extra time.
  18. My friend has got me hooked on shooting revolver. I have been shooting his back up rig in limited div. (icore) I will shoot it at the IRC next week. My Dad passed down his Ruger security six .357 to me(6" barrel). I want to set this up to shoot classic div. I am planning on getting Houge big butt grips, but from there I am lost. I see wolf makes a spring kit that will help with the trigger pull, but I really am not that familiar with revolvers. Any help as far as trigger work, springs, speed loaders, speed loader pouches sights, holster, etc would help. Thanks Jeremy
  19. IN9147 IN9147-1054 9MM 147GR JHP G Match Using a Zero bullet and Starline brass, this is designed to make minor power factor. This ammo was originally designed for the Glock shooting team, and is also used by the AMU Action Pistol Team. If you are shooting a production class or any type of shooting where a minor power factor is desired, this is the ammo of choice. Glock Shooting Team USAMU Action Pistol Team Atlanta Arms & Ammo (1-770-464-2203-Stacy-see web)loads for Team Glock & AMU Team. In 9mm match they load 147gr to MINOR PF. 880fps & 264ftlbs. Very soft shooting and on the extreme end of accuracy. They load new and once fired brass. I'm sure Team Glock uses new brass!
  20. In my m&p 5" I do like the 135 and 147 the best. For the "technical" shots that you will be taking, it wouldn't hurt to put in a better barrel anyway. You might also try some different loads. I think the 147 has a softer recoil so that might be a good benefit for your wrists. My friend has a glock 34 and added a tungsten guide rod and one of the heaviest magwells he could find. It made the gun significantly heavier, which also helped with perceived recoil. I am pretty sure that the people shooting for team glock also run 147 grain bullets out of their guns.
  21. A glock 34 is a great gun but it is a combat gun not 6" svi or a bulls eye gun. It is made to run 100% reliable which I would take over a Little better accuracy. That being said, bullets can make a difference and not all loads will work the same in every gun. Try some 135gr and 147 gr bullets. I like 147gr Bayou bullets with 3.2gr of TG. Do you shoot 50 yard in a match?
  22. Very nice. I wonder What that would look like on my 91 geo
  23. Thanks for the info. Has any one tried the Berrys with the hollow base?
  24. Thanks, I will load a few with 4.5gr and see how it chronos.
  25. I have some Berrys 180gr bullets and some titegroup powder. I will be shooting it out of an M&P pro 40 5". I have never loaded for the 40. I want to shoot it in uspsa limited and just make major power factor. I have loaded A lot of 9mm but this will be the first for the 40. How many grains, what length etc? Thanks Jeremy
