  1. Any particular reason hes selling it? My logic..is ..if a glock is polymer and can last that long...an Ar should too.. You're also not asking a glock to hit targets 400+ yards either... I was led to believe that the only things that really mattered to Camp Perry types are the barrel and the trigger and the sight. So I while a bit valid for fit and wobble, I don't think you argument holds all that much water considering people win with Colts and their fit is not always the greatest.
  2. What big game are you shooting? Maybe a AR-15 platform in a 6.5mm Grendel would do the trick.
  3. If the goal is fun, then get a .223/5.56 as you will be able to shoot more from a cost perspective and an endurance perspective. If your goal is Heavy Metal type division, then go with the .308. If your goal is to kill larger animals, or medium animals at long distance go with the .308. If you want a .308 just because you think it's cool, don't ask anyone, just buy it. However, if you want a .308 that has the option of becoming a .223, you might look at a Colt 901. But you are going to pay more for the Colt. Another brand of .308 you should look at would be Noveske.
  4. Could be easily solved with 3 columns of barrels and 4 shooting boxes.
  5. When I had my Shadow, the same issue with the extractor/extractor spring showed up at around 5000 rounds I didn't persevere, and now I shoot a Gen4 G17. Some days (35 yard targets, bill drills) I really miss my Shadow.
  6. Not likely, It looks like the pivot would make it pretty hard to hit anything not in the front 180. Where would the shooter stand to do that? Much better solution would be to make something that attaches to goose neck ball hitch so the shooter could pan around it. Course if you have more than one bud riding in the back your rear arc is covered... Anyhow, looks dope.
  7. I'm no expert but I prefer the 10-8 U-Notch with a brass bead.Almost as good as a ghost ring at speed with all the benefits of a notch and post for smaller targets. I shoot a Glock, but it's a similar sight picture to this one.
  8. I must have missed that at BHPC. I used to shoot the Shadow in production, but I shoot a Glock now. But I'd sure like to see your TS at the next match.
  9. Does box fed have to mean autoload? If not I'd base the design on the already used 590 and modify the action of the lifter somewhat. That's probably going to be your most reliable option.
  10. I do the dry fire index draws from Beyond Fundamentals. The one where you close your eyes, draw, open and see the front sight centered in the rear notch. I do that until I can get it 4 or 5 times in a row. It used to be pretty hit and miss for me on the first stage of every match, sometimes ok, a lot of the time just bomb on it. That routine has helped me bring up my first stage consistency quite a lot, which helps my mental stability throughout the whole match.
  11. "If you can't do somethin' smart... do somethin' right."
  12. I agree but you also need to drill the match environment into your head. And in a match there is dead time, followed by your one opportunity to get it right. I'd say if you aren't visualising your run every time you reset targets, you aren't concentrating enough during practice and it might hinder your match performance.
  13. Don't be discriminatory to white ninjas! Storm Shadow will find you!
  14. That would eliminate just about every Safariland holster with the standard belt loop. You can adjust it for muzzle-forward, straight up, or FBI cant. That's one degree of rotational freedom (one rotational axis).
  15. It's not written. Let me clarify, If they do rule against it as a race holster, I think that's going to be the new justification that would eventually get in the rule book. It's the only differentiating factor that I can make any sense out of myself if they rule against them.
  16. I don't personally have a problem with those holsters, and I think the defined holster dimensions set forth in the rule book are adequate. If they do rule on them as race holsters, I think the determining factor would be that there is more than one degree of freedom in their adjustment.
  17. If your eyes are seeing what they need to see, the timer will show it assuming same hits.
  18. UNLESS it's a slide version... Then the size of the RSA doesn't matter.
  19. Not normal for an outdoor range, but I can see where an indoor range might require that. It's hard to balance match safety in IDPA (no 180 rule) with openness to the public as well. If it were up to me though, shooter liability for each round is the answer to this apparent drift towards nannyism by ranges.
  20. +1 on the bill drill. It's going to give you the best idea of what the changes in recoil is actually doing to your aim. You may find out that a faster snap might not be as level, but it gets your sights back on target faster. I've seen this go both ways in different guns (example CZ vs Glock) at least for me.
  21. Seems to me shooting the Glock in production makes the most sense. I'd drop $1k in reloading equipment and starting supplies if you haven't done that yet instead of the STI.
