  1. I know it's late but I thought I should at least mention that Ted Bonnet is putting on this match, sponsored by Winchester in San Antonio in two weeks. All info can be found on his club web site here:Ted's Club. Chris
  2. Sorry, hadn't checked here in a bit. the link to Harbor Freight is here:Link and looks like they dropped teh price by 5 bucks, that should about cover the shipping. Noticed in teh store they are still $24.99.
  3. I was going with the plan of trying some cheap electronic ears before spending over $100.00. I bought a pair from Harbor Freight Tools for $24.99 about a year and a half ago and have no interest in buying a different set. These work just great. They are not very low-profile but they work great. Chris
  4. Maybe I'm odd, but I'll say "Boogie Nights" A small part but his line about " I like simple pleasures, like butter in my a**, lollipops in my mouth. That's just me. That's just something that I enjoy." delivered with his style cracked me up. Chris
  5. I got the PM thanks for everything. You've been most helpful. Chris
  6. Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply, I sent you a PM. Pardon the ignorance but what is a nylon stop nut? Does that fit into the slot in the mount? Appreciate your answer and offer. Thanks, Chris
  7. Try the Dallas Pistol Club in Carrolton. They have a lot of monthly handgun competitions and it's a nice club. They don't have affiliations with any organizations but there are a lot of experienced shooters so it's also a good place to network. Chris
  8. Hi, does anyone know where I can get a repacement for the slotted mount screw for a Tasco PDP4 scope? I need the one that slide back and forth in the slot on the scope base. I was tightening one last night and it snapped off clean where the threads start. Thanks for any help. Chris
  9. Sorry to hijack the thread but I recieved an email about this thread. I tried to reply and the response came back as undeliverable. Leroy if you have a different email let me know, I'm not being rude or ignoring your email. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread. Thanks, Chris
  10. I use EGW mounts on my 686's and on a 627 with a combination of two PDP4's and a PDP5. I'm with Bubber, stay away from the 4's leave them for us. Chris

Congrats and did you and the wife get his and hers?
  12. He's been shooting Winchester white box through it but they don't group very well in this gun. The gun shoots well with a couple of different loads which is one of the reasons I have the 147 grainers, just looking for a good combination. Also the gun is so much fun to play around with, I'd like to shoot it at a match or two for grins once in a while. Thanks everyone for their advice so far. Chris
  13. The 9x19 is comped as well. What is a good starting point with HS6? Thanks Chris
  14. I picked up a P9 set up for open for my 13 year old son to shoot steel type matches with. He wants to try USPSA now as well. The gun is a blast to shoot but so far we have only used minor loads. The gun came with 2 top ends, one for 9x19 and one for 9x21 with a simple 3 port comp. My question is: If we decide to shoot major loads with this gun is there a good reason to choose one caliber over the other? I know the 9x19 brass is cheaper/easier to get. But what about load "friendlyness" especially for a young shooter. I have a box of 147gr bullets lying around, are they a good choice or do I need a lighter bullet to make major with. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Chris
  15. I have a friend who is a fan. After we saw KB2 he said I have those movies. He as well as the movies are Japanese so I just watch for the action and he explains the rest. Pretty cool to watch though. Had to look them up to get the exact name you were looking for. Haven't seen Shogun Assassin though. Good trivia question. Chris

  17. Is it permissable to say Sword of Vengence I-VI or the Lone Wolf and Cub series or do we need to name each individual movie. If you want each individual movie which name do you want the Lone wolf and cub name or the actual Japanese title? I think the lone wolf and cub names are : sword of vengence; Baby cart at the river styx; baby cart to Hades; In Peril; Land of Demons; Go to Hell,Daigoro. If I'm on the wrong track, sorry for wasting you time. If I'm right or close, cool. Chris
  18. I don't feel embarrassed but my wife tells me I should be for liking "The Postman". She doesn't know who Tom Petty is so....... Chris
  19. Thanks for the advice. I took SFinney up on his gracious offer (and thank you very much) and replaced the shim I bought with the one he had. I haven't been able to get the problem to repeat itself with the new shim in (and I've tried quite a bit) and everything went together smoothly. Monday I'll take it to the range and give it a go. Thanks again. Chris
  20. There's a master class limited shooter around here who still uses one at matches.
  21. I searched for this and didn't find an answer so I am posting here in hopes. I bought one of the shim to fill the space of the series 80 parts on my P14. Everything went together fine and the trigger pull is much nicer but when hand cycling the slide every so often the hammer will follow. I can cause it to happen if the gum is tilted to the left. I am unwilling to try firing the gun like this. Does the shim need to be shimmed out more from the frame? Is the sear catching on the frame next to the shim? Any knowledge or advice on this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris
  22. I like the USPSA/ICORE route better then IDPA just because of the 4"barrel rule. Any allowances for open v. limited revos? Still like the idea in general though. Chris
  23. Now that's funny Chris
