  2. Yes, no need to load that long. Don't go any longer than 1.2 or you might have bullet creep. You need some of the bullet inside the case.
  3. Is "nomenclature" the right word?
  4. Thanks, on my 750 it's called "the shell pusher thingy".
  5. Here's my load Name: .38 Short Colt: 160gr Bayou RN: Clays 3.05gr: Starline Case: OAL 1.20 Notes: S&W 627 Shots: 9 Average: 810 ft/s SD: 8 ft/s Min: 797 ft/s Max: 824 ft/s Spread: 27 ft/s Power Factor Average: 129 Power Factor Low: 127 Power Factor High: 131 Barometric Pressure: 30 in Hg Temperature: 74 F Weight: 160.0 gr. 6. Nah, I just turned my .38 special case feed adapter 180 degrees, and it works fine with short colt.
  7. I've found for me, Starline .38 short colt with tk (expensive) moon clips work best. For .38 special I use Ranch products. I'm my 929 I use tk .035 clips with Federal brass, and Ranch Products moon clips with Winchester brass.
  8. Yes, when I first set up mine I didn't use either No, mine's bolted to a shelf Yes Yes, the same Yes, remove the roller bearing
  9. Trust me, you'll be happy. Sometimes when my wife is really on my case, I'll go to the garage and load 100 rounds in a few hours... ....10 minutes to load, 1 hour and 50 minutes to drink beer
  10. Please don't bring logic and reason into an internet discussion
  11. I'm confused by the people that can't fully seat primers on 550/750. You and I seem to get it.
  12. Yes, send it... ...to me. It's not safe for you to fire it. I'll take one for the team.
  13. I'm confused. On my 750 I can seat the primers as deep as I want. I just push on the handle until it's seated, then give it a little shove. Since the primer punch on the primer feed bar is smaller than the primer pocket, what's the issue?
  14. That's why new style Dillon dies are flared at the bottom. Old style ones are not.
  15. Not in my case. I load 9mm on the exact same machine, and don't have the problem. Sometimes I'll even check to make sure the case is fully seated in the shell plate, and it still tips forward.
  16. Years ago my buddy was married to Mike Dillon's daughter, so I know a guy
  17. Sure, as I said, it's more pronounced on .38 special/.357 I spend a few months in Arizona in the spring. I'm going to bring it with, and let them look at it.
  18. Ok, this it with a .38 short colt. It's more pronounced with a .38 special
  19. Yes, I assume the case is sitting flat on the shell plate, then as I raise the ram/shell plate the case tilts in a little bit. Not clockwise or counter clockwise, but straight in towards the main shaft.
  20. No, just .38. Dillon said to check the shell plate for derbies, but it was clean. I've even tried wiggling the die around to get it in the proper place, but it's not right. My die is perfectly centered, and I've used the alignment tool. It's the shell plate, it's out of spec.
  21. Yep, same thing on my 750 when I load .38 special. It's like the shell plate won't let the shell go far enough into it. I gave up chasing it.
