  1. I do these: http://www.holistic-online.com/Yoga/hol_yoga_pos_eyeex.htm
  2. Dang! Check out BJ Norris' progress. At the VA Summer Blast (shooting Open) I finished 12th, BJ was 28th; fastforward to the Area 8 and I finish 22nd, BJ 21st That Junior camp did him some good! Nice shooting BJ!!!!
  3. Thanks for the heads up. I was surprised when I called that they still had me on backorder for one from months ago
  4. I've had unusual experiences with 4756, so I'm steering away from it. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...c=12720&hl=4756
  5. I use 012's and love them. Seems like it would be very difficult to drop a gun unless you adjusted the draw tension super light. (I hope I didn't just jinx myself at the Area 8 Championship this weekend ) I owned a CR Speed WSM and hated it because the gun didn't dislodge from the holster in a natural fashion, tough to explain but it felt too mechanical too me. The 012 just feels smooth. I did like how you can adjust the CR such that the gun doesn't wobble at all in the holster, very cool, and the lock is nice, but I'd prefer my old Bianchi Hemisphere over the CR. The Hemisphere was smooth. I have never tried the Ghost so I cannot comment. Get a decent holster and use it for a year, develop your style, determine what you like in a holster, then experiment with another holster and develop your own opinions based on your shooting style.
  6. I'll be there shooting on Saturday. The weekend prior I'll be doing a 3 day 175 mile bike ride, I hope this old man is recovered in time for the Arae 8
  7. I used to shoot a lot of NRA Highpower rifle when I lived in Colorado (sure do miss living there) and when we went to the Nationals in Camp Perry Ohio, so this is 5,000+ elevation to pretty much sea level, our ammo would hit low on the target at 600 yards. After a year or two of this I caught on and figured our exactly how much the difference was; I don't recall off the top of my head, but it was substantial. I never was given a good reason for this, but we surmised that the thicker atmosphere at sea level caused more bullet resistance and therefore a more rapid rate of deceleration of the bullet. Whether this would would be seen with a handgun when chrono'ing at a few feet in front of the muzzle I don't know....
  8. Nice gun! Is that an SVI trigger insert? It looks different.....
  9. Nice gun! So nice I'd be scared to shoot it in competition......
  10. Looks like you spent a lot of time customizing it for yourself, too bad it didn't work out for you. And dang, that magwell is nice! I like the beavertail too. Those P9's sure do feel good to me, about the only gun that feels better than my Caspian hi-cap.
  11. I think I'm in the minority because I have EGW hollowed out stainless steel guide rods in my three primary 1911's, those guns not being a Limited gun: Caspian open gun, SS 40 I use for Lim-10 and a SS Super I hope to use for IDPA. I fell in love with light guns after shooting a Glock for a few monthes, I could move that thing so stinkin' fast, and recoil doesn't bug me at all. Spoke with George and Jim at EGW about the need for a lighter gun and they turned me on to the hollow guide rod.
  12. I shoot a Caspian with grip tape and I feel that the S_I grips modified by that guy in NY (can't remember his name) feel just as small as my Caspian. That being said the S_I grip feels more perpendicular to the slide than the Caspian to me, the Caspian feels more ergonomic.
  13. Bill - I don't know that I qualify to give you any advice, especially after the butt-whooping you dished out on me last weekend I usually try to completely forget about the time it takes to run a stage, instead focusing only on getting/calling good hits. If I planned the proper (fast) way to shoot through a stage, all I can do once the buzzer goes off is call good shots - the rest will take care of itself. Things like footspeed, getting into and out of a box etc...are things I can work on at home in the backyard, but on match day, you just have to let it happen. The trusting aspect comes from knowing that you put in the hard work dryfiring at home and practicing at the range. You put in all the practice time so you could let it happen on match day. BTW - when we shot a couple weeks ago at Fredericksburg - you were way fast on plenty of stages. Zach Zach, Thanks for the kind words! On days when I feel unusually confident and calm, and am only concerned with seeing the dot for every shot I end up trusting and thus performing well, but I'm always fishing for others take on how they get that amazing run.
  14. Any advice on how to go about trusting, and therefore "not trying" as Brian would say?
  15. Thin grips make the gun feel very square to me, and thick grips make it hard to get to the mag release button. I have used, and like, Burners grips, but would prefer them to be every so slightly thinner. Bottom line is that I like the standard grip panel thickness.
  16. I shot 45 for years, then switched to 40 and have never looked back. It seemed to me that if I get a good grip coming out of the holster the 40 recoiled less, but was less forgiving than the 45 to a slightly off grip.
  17. Dave, Which gun are you shooting?
  18. Dave, It's Sevigny. Keep the updates coming buddy
  19. This may be a good thread to read if you plan to use 4756.
  20. I saw the movie and got one close look at the gun and I believe it's a Springfield Custom gun because on the right side of the slide there's some writing that looked like the Springfield Custom writing.
  21. Otto from Otto Comp is willing to do it, but I do not know how much he charges. Give him a call: 314.638.3327
  22. Are you using Super or Super comp brass? I've "tuned" around 10 of these for myself and friends. All worked 100% and all held 29 rounds of super comp if you load with an Undersized die. They don't work well with regular Super. Bucky, I'm using Supercomp brass with the EGW undersized resizing die. Do you cut any coils from the spring? If not perhaps I need to trim my follower top to bottom a little more.
  23. mcoliver, Where did you get it? That's exactly what I need so I can dry-fire in the morning without waking up the wife and kids....
  24. I've had to pretty interesting things going on with 4756 lately. In early winter I started load development for my Open Gun I decided to just go with 4756 becuse it's locally available, whereas nothing else that is worthy of Supercomp Major loads is. So anyways, I'm using Starline brass, WSR primers, Zero 125 JHP and 1.250" OAL. In early winter my 170 PF loads settled out at 8.85 grains of 4756, no pressure signs. Okay, so fast forward to now, I have since opened a new 5 lb can of 4756 and I decided to chrono my ammo, just to check it. The ammo is not making major. I bump up my load little by little until I get to where I am now: 168 PF (which is a little too close to 165 for me, I like to not worry when getting chrono'd at a match), but this is with 9.4 grains! Everything else has remained constant: gun set-up, die settings, powder storage environment. Well, okay, the weather that I'm chronoing in is hotter, I think most powders increase pressure, and thus velocity, with temperature. So to make a long story even longer I concur with the statement that 4756 has huge lot to lot variations.
