Phone-in report from 3/4time after the RO shoot today- "It's a real fun match, the weather is in the 70's with no rain forecast. If you don't have fun on this one you are for sure a landlubber for life." -

I hate to be a tease, but my daughter is already asleep so I don't have my PC VP to post the pics. I just saw some pics of the Riley Valley stage "Silverado". Yee-haw! -

What time is the RO match tomorrow? I'm off in the morning and want to drive out. -
All-right Chuck D! Remember this good feeling you have now when things are going well and remind yourself the next time things look a little rough. TomB

I RO'd Sunday a shooter with a new to them pistol. I did a little coaching to help him through the multiple jams ("Drop the mag", etc). It's about discretion don't you think?
-
Really. He's been shooting more like a sandbagging "B". Good job BD.

I'm pretty much along the lines of TL. But I will add that while I served in the USN I developed the policy of offering any Nam vet, or certainly any older vet a beverage of their choice and a hearty "Thank you!" for serving your country. Somtimes you hear some amazing stories. Even if I'm not in a position to offer a drink, I always try to tell all vets and actives "Thanks for serving your country." Sometimes you hear some amazing stories. It's always appreciated to know that you are appreciated. Tom Bergman

Cereal Alfresco

I'm cuckoo for cocoa puffs myself. But I must salute Rhino on the Quisp recall. Excellent! An official list of acceptable dry eaten cereals from my 11 year old boy: Cocoa Pebbles, Cocoa Puffs, any of the Cheerios with berries, Lucky Charms, Special K with strawberries. -

Directions: If you're headed north on 31 at about 256th street you will see "Wilsons Fruit Market", the shingles on the roof say Wilsons. You are getting close to the pie shop. Eats: Before you got to Wilsons you passed a couple of Diners on the east side of the road. I can vouch for Georges. Big portions, reasonably priced. Hotels: There are a bunch of hotels around the 465 /I69 exchange on the northeast sideof Indianapolis. The match is about a half an hour from there. Take I 69 north to the Noblesville 116th st exit. Follow it towards Noblesville, you are heading north on US37. Follow it all the way through Strawtown, right after you cross the bridge over the White River turn left onto US213. Take this about ten miles and it will take a sweeping left (you have to turn). Follow this to the range on your left, about 5 miles. TriggerT: I am the C shooter in squad 26. I'm pretty excited. Sunday AM. -
Thanks Flex. I remember reading here that KKM was coming out with a special 9mm barrel/comp combo. Has anything ever became of that? I wouldn't mind setting it up as a real (ok I'm using "real" very loosely) 9mm race gun. I'm thinking you could load it minor and the comp would still add weight out front. What's the latest and greatest? Does anyone even make a set that will fit a 35 slide? We have a .22 Ruger, but there are some signs that one is ready to move up a little.

Harley Owners Here....
twix replied to oddjob's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
I've owned 17 different bikes (I owned the H-D the longest). Could we split off this thread with a "What motorcycle do you ride/would like to ride and what is your primary IPSC blaster?"? How about a little personality matching, Bike-n-Blaster profiling, if it were? This could be a cool thread with pics and a little help from KF. -
I have a Glock 35 with a nice trigger. I am looking at putting in the KKM 9mm for a 35 barrel ($165 according to their web site). 1- What would be a cost effective red dot/ mount (I don't want to cut the .40 slide for a fitted JPoint or Doctor)? 2- Would drilling some holes in the top of the barrel help lessen recoil? The main theme here is to make use of a great/versatile G35 for a teen trainer piece. So shooting minor is fine. Any thoughts on the specifics of the gun or the idea for a teen trainer are welcomed. TomB Edited to add: Without undoing the versatility.

Sam, be careful what you wish for. BD generally arrives after a natural disaster happens.

Sorry buddy. Go ahead and close it. G'night.

That I can't even hate right. Dang terrorists. Hate 'em.

The news reports say that the Saudi police killed the al-quaida terrorists who beheaded Mr. Johnson within hours after his beheading. If they got to them "within hours" after the killing, where have they been all week? I know you can't draw conclusions with only one piece of information, especially when filtered through the media, but am I the only one who thinks this reeks?

Rhino to the rescue! Thanks for scoring the match lil' buddy.

What is considered a "longer shot" in IDPA?
-
Yes, I'm pretty sure we saved them to a text file. This is one step further than I got last night. Failed on being able to email the text files. Not sure we even found the text files. Yes, we are not very computer savvy.
-
Ah. It did pretty well scoring the match, but then I was stuck as far as emailing it to anyone. Will the update solve this?

Kentucky State Match
twix replied to AikiDale's topic in Match Announcements - Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC & Misc.
Hey Kattitude, When Big Dave fell there it was a couple of years ago and it was a full bodied sprawl while sprinting from left to right(gun safely down range at all times, even during the fall and recovery). I swear the ground still quakes, he fell hard. In fact, I'm sure it must have been one of the aftershocks of BD's fall that threw your own David off balance and caused his fall... Hope he heals fast.
