Not to be obtuse here but.........You order 16K unknown quality bullets and then inquire about them. Just what was the plan if you got some negative feed back from the many knowledgable ones here......not to mention you apparantly have not function or accuracy checked them in your guns......... Couldn't stand it anymore.........Loaded and did some test shots. 3.5 grains N310 underneath a Remington 124 MC (exposed base FMJ), @ 1.140, WW brass, WSR primers. 20 shots averaged 1013 (right at minor pf) with a spread of 27 fps out of a stock Kimber 5" Target model. Primers had the typical shallow indent with some minor flow typical of past N310 147 loads, though this particular Kimber does funky things to primers anyway. Is there margin to go to 130 pf without being scary?.....most likely. I saw scary with 4.0 N310 and 115's just barely squeeking out 128 pf. Interesting is the fact that 147's loaded to 3.0 N310 seem to easily achieve 131 pf without working things too hard and they definately shoot lots softer than the 115's or 124's. As an aside, 3.2 N320 underneath 147's achieve the same 131 pf, shoot with only a tad bit more recoil than the N310 load, but far softer than the same 131 pf 124 load using 4.0 N320. N310 shoots slightly softer than N320 with 115's, 124's and 147's at the same pf...no surprise there really. N310 always demonstrates super low SD's for me (typically around 7.00 or less), where N320 seems to hover around 10.0 to 12.0. There is though lots of margin with N320 and no need to fool yourself masking pressure signs using SR Primers. Given the small difference in recoil between N310 and N320 I think the N320 and 147 load is the safe bet assuming no accuracy or function issues are seen with one or the other.......maybe. BTW.....I know you were looking for specific numbers for the 124 MGHP but thought this might start the process. The odyssey continues...... TR

Gunsmith or drop-in fit? Velocity loss or gain? Accuracy? Reliability? TR

I normally drop 3.0 grains N310 underneath a plated or FMJ 147 RN for 131 pf or better through a 5" Kimber. The last lead load I did allowed for a decrease in the charge to 2.8 grains for the same pf. I keep arriving at the same conclusions as it relates to using lead in any chambering....... Cheaper (always) Less powder required for a given pf compared to plated and FMJ (usually in that order). Accuracy and groups usually tighter (but not always) Dirt, smoke, gunked-up guns and dies (always). Bullseye and lead???? I can't even imagine given my last conclusion above. Side Note: N310 is the softest shooting by far....especially when compared to that be-loved Titegroup. All my humble opinion of course and as always work your loads up in guns carefully. TR

SP vs SR.............Specifcally WSP and WSR. My experience head to head with a given load, with the variable only being the Primer always reveals an increase in velocity for SR Primers, albeit usually only 18-30 fps faster with N310/320 minor loads using 124's & 147's. Warm loads in 9mm (124) and 40 S&W (165) with slower powders like N340 and Powerpistol show smaller increases for SR Primers in the range of 15-25 fps. As always, your results may already vary as it is all just Voodoo anyway. TR

Yep Wolff has a (4) piece try pack. Standard #1, light #2, lighter #3 and lightest #4. They'll most likely have what you'll want in the pack. Brownells has them. TR

Hmmmm....old prices huh? Hope the update doesn't put them into the Zero bullet market for pricing. I just want to go back to getting 9mm 115's and 124's for $39-4040ish, and 40 S&W 155/165/180 for $56ish again. (TNT gunshow pick-up per 1K). TR

3.0 - 3.2 Clays or N310, 180 FMJFP, 1.135 OAL.....second Federal Primers for light revolver triggers, otherwise use what you like. TR

Sample size.....20 rounds. RH% was taken from my local Airport Terminal Information Service (ATIS) recording. TR

Did some testing today in 9mm. Kimber Stainless Target Winchester Brass Star 115 FMJ @ 1.140 WSR and WSP 81 degree's 47% RH 4.0 N310 with WSR Low 1147 High 1172 Average 1162 Spread 25 SD 7.11 PF 133,653 4.0 N310 with WSP Low 1119 High 1150 Average 1131 Spread 31 SD 7.34 PF 130.077 4.3 N320 with WSR Low 1134 High 1179 Average 1158 Spread 45 SD 12.49 PF 133,118 4.3 N320 with WSP Low 1121 High 1178 Average 1145 Spread 57 SD 13.47 PF 131,635 The N310 load average increased by 31, was outside the spread, so it may be valid. The N320 load increased only 13, is well within the spread, and is inconclusive. Primer flow was eliminated but all loads still show minor flattening in the 1911, but none in the H&K USP when firing a few rounds (nother story). Did not do the search. Hopefully some real world data might be more useful and justify the bandwidth. TR

Other than masking pressure signs .......does one get a ballistic bump using rifle primers or are they energy equivalents to small pistol primers? TR

Very well. I'm familiar with AET's fluted chamber design but failed to put it and stuck cases together. Top Hatted.........When your absolutely, positively WAY beyond just your run of the mill flat primer. TR
