Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. He really sounds like an Army Warrant Officer.
  2. Just trying to get some personal experience opinions. I've been using 4.9 gr. of N330 behind 124 gr Montana Gold JHP for some time now. Generally, I've been very happy with the results. I get good, but not outstanding accuracy. However, that's probably more me than the load. I'm always looking to improve and try new things. I'm about to buy some new powder and was thinking of trying either N320 or 3N37. As I said, I'm looking for personal experience opinions from those of you who have used N320, N330, or 3N37. Please do not respond with opinions of other powders. I just want to try one of the two new VihtaVuoris or stay with N330. I'm shooting these loads mainly out of a 9mm CZ75B in IPSC. Thanks. Tom
  3. Thanks Erik for your response and trying to get people back to the question I asked. Tom
  4. I've been using VV N330 behind Montanta Gold 124 gr JHP in 9mm and have been very pleased with the results. I'm about to buy some powder. I've heard good things about VV N320 for 9mm. Anyone have experience with both these powders who would care to give an opinion? As I said, I've been very happy with the 330 but I'm always open to suggestions on making good things better. I also use N340 for .45 ACP. Thanks. Tom
  5. I guess I've been good because the Mrs. said Santa will be bringing me a spotting scope. I need one that will be good for seeing a minimum of .22 holes at no more than 100-150 yards and moderately priced. I do wear glasses, so some sort of decent eye relief should be considered. I've narrowed my choice to three scopes that fit my requirements. I would like opinions from those of you who have experience with any of these three. I know that a Kowa or Zeiss would be great but hardly in my budget or needs. The three are: 1. Burris Landmark 15-45 x 60mm $165 with hardcase & tripod 2. Bushnell Spacemaster 20-60 x 60mm Multi position eyepiece, $174 with hardcase, no tripod. 3. Leupold Wind River 15-45 x 60mm Angled eyepiece, $240 with hardcase & tripod. I'm leaning towards the Leupold because of it's lifetime warranty and being waterproof. Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Tom
  6. I'm trying to work up a load for .38 Spl & .357 Mag using VihtaVuori N340. Bullets being used are: .38 - Hornady 148 gr HBWC. .357 - Remington 158 gr JSP. I'm using Winchester SP primers for both. All my manuals, including VihtaVuori's, don't give a load for N340 with these bullets. I'm looking for good accurate loads, not necessarily velocity busters. I'll be shooting these out of a 4" S&W 15 and a 4" S&W 586. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Tom
  7. I've been using Unique for 9mm, .38 spl, & .357 mag. I also use V340 for .45acp. I've been happy with the results for all of these. However, because Unique is so inconsistent in metering and the VihtaVuori meters so nicely, I'm thinking os switching to VihtaVuori for all my reloading. I wrote to VihtaVuori and asked them for recommendations on which powders I should try for each caliber and they responded that I could use 340 for all. I had been thinking of something like 320 or 330 for the others and stay with 340 for the .45acp. Any suggestions from those of you who have used VihtaVuori would be appreciated. The bullets I'm using are: 9mm-Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP, .38spl.-Hornady 148 gr. HBWC, .357mag-Remington 158 gr. JSP. My .45acp bullet is Montana Gold 230 gr. FMJ. Thanks Tom
