  1. Fiber front black rear. If I shoot an indoor low/no light I use my carry gun with novak night sights. Both guns are full size 1911's.
  2. Like others have said you have a good gun, and you can dabble in two divisions. If you like to shoot I would get a reloading press. Reloading your own ammo is fun, rewarding, saves lots of $$, and allows you to shoot more. It is a big step, but a onetime expense.
  3. Keep it. It is nice to price check things when you are on the road. I keep mine in the truck.
  4. Brownells has 10 packs of wolff for the 1911 cheap if you are set on a weight.
  5. With the way us shooters acquire brass (almost all large primer pocket) I can’t see bothering with these unless you have a ton of them.
  6. Steel1212, Another email to Wilson is on the way. I am going to encourage my buds to do the same. When Wilson replied to my last email they were very vague which gives me some hope for an extended ETM base pad.
  7. I’m using 4.8gr of titegroup behind a 200gr lswc from Missouri Bullet Co. It is smoky, dirty, but very economical. When titegroup is gone I will look for another powder.
  8. Spartan in .40 would be my choice. Lots of bang for the buck
  9. I think I may go back to the S&A. When it is correctly blended to the frame it works and looks great. If I had actual long ETM mags, I would keep my ICE. Not seating ETM mags, and over inserting with the 47D base pads is getting old. I would be interested in hearing more about the JJC magwell.
  10. Afternoon between classes. Homework and dry fire in the evening.
  11. I have the ICE and love it. The only problem is that the Wilson ETM mags are too short. I contacted Wilson and inquired about the likelihood that they would make a longer ETM base pad. They said no. If you run the .625 47D base pads (and dremel them to fit the box), sometimes over insertion problems are the result.
  12. I got so exited to go down and shoot prone on a stage (having never done this before) that I blew past an array of pepper poppers. I had no idea I failed to engage them until the stage was scored.
  13. Have one built the way you want it.
  14. My kimber runs "pretty well" when kept clean and oiled with FP10 and cheap bulk ammo. It runs 100% with quality ammo like cci minimags.
  15. I shoot what seems to be a dirty load in my single stack 45. With that in mind I clean religiously after every shooting session. To get the lead out I use bronze choreboy wrapped around an under sized brush, spray and wipe the gun down with remoil or wd40, and clean the extractor well with a stiff nylon brush. Apply militec, reassemble, and shoot some more!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I am also having light strikes in my pro. It started all of a sudden. Primers are federal. Ammo works in G17, Kahr PM9, and Beretta 92fs. Therefore most likely gun not ammo.
  17. They would be an incredible seller for the price. So good that I think it would hurt Trojan sales. I would buy a 9mm in a heartbeat.
  18. Seems to be a good gun. If price is the selling point and you don’t have to have a SS immediatly you have other options through this site and other forums and auctions. I myself considered a PT1911 but found a series I kimber for around the same price.
  19. Play with both at the same time if you can. Can,t go wrong with either in the end. A62335 has several good points on the matter of the kimber.
  20. Militec grease. In winter I dilute it with some regular militec.
  21. +1 For Militec. Never a problem on any firearms. I have used it in arctic like conditions in Reno and surface of the sun like conditions in Las Vegas. With extended se in my 1911 and ar's they seem noticeably slicker than some of my friends who use other products including CLP.
  22. I wonder how dimensionally close it is it the DP ice for single stack.
  23. When I load the primer magazine, I use the low primer warning rod to follow the primers as they come out of the pickup tube. I hardly ever get an upside down primer with this method.
  24. I am waiting for one of these to come in the mail and was wandering if anyone has any experience with it in conjunction to Wilson Combat ETM mags.
