  1. My VM shot low center. I have about 5/8" build up on the stock.
  2. We saw that one, but we did not see one that said it Must be activated even if the WSB does not require it.
  3. Hello, I designed a stage for our match. Two targets were in out and back targets. The head box was completely visible. The out n back targets were activated each by mousetraps. The WSB simply said to engage the targets in the free fire area. No mention if the activators. My idea was bold shooters could just hit the head box. Other shooters could activate and get the body shots. One shooter said the rule state shooters must activate before they can shoot, even if the WSB did not mandate activation. I thought it was an option for the shooter. Hit the head box, or take the time to activate and get an easier shot. Which was correct?
  4. Because when the rules were being created, Springfield foolishly listed the XD as "Single Action" on their web page, as well as having an ATF certification of "Single Action". The ATF classified the Glocks as "Double Action", due to the fact the striker is only partially cocked and pulling the trigger finishes it up. XD's are so unpopular in IDPA, it always seemed like an odd thing to complain about. I wouldn't be suprised if they are SSP legal in the new rule book though. Ted
  5. A long time ago it was legal in CDP, but it is an ESP gun. I haven't seen a .400 Cor Bon gun in over a decade. Still have a box of cartridges somewhere though.
  6. Nah, the XD is a self-correcting problem. Besides, you would be a greater threat to the people in your class if you spent your tungsten guide rod money on ammo. Ted
  7. My wife was trying to find a vegan restauraunt for a coworker. Worse still.
  8. I was getting the POA straightened out with my shotgun saturday. Afterwards I started patterning the gun with various chokes. My friend Matt was with me and we patterned our guns with IC and LM chokes at 25 (max range for the club) and 14 yards. IC and LM were just about the same at 25 yards, roughly 26" At 14 yards, my LM pattern (Bottom right) was under 18", the IC pattern was around 22" I noticed the LM pattern was about the same size of a lot of the steel we shoot at that distance. Matt's patterns are on the left of the picture, IIRC LM on top, IC on bottom. What do you guys consider a good 3 gun pattern for steel at those distances?
  9. My tube showed up today. I installed it in a few minutes. My factory tube was very tight to remove, but it came out in the end. I also installed my welded lifter. Ted
  10. Just ordered one. I almost feel like one of the cool kids.
  11. Unload the gun and point against a safe backstop. Grab the sides of the trigger with thumb and index finger. Do not touch the center where the trigger safety lever is located. Pull the trigger to the rear. If it clicks, the safety doesn't work. Also, google firing pin safety test. You should test that too b
  12. We had a guy lose 1000 primers from his range bag Saturday
  13. We will be going again. I had more fun at this match than I have had in a long while.
  14. Thank you. I bought a spare lifter and mailed it to c-rums. Ted
  15. I suspect you do not know what the term "training scar" means. It certainly does not fit your above application. A training scar is when you get Hurt in practice doing something stupid and get a scar to remind you of your mistake. I've been trained to do a no look and to look. Both had good reasoning behind the training. As this is a competition thread, I do in fact look at the well. It makes for me to produce a more consistent reload. If I was in a gunfight, dynamic incident, or whatever the cool kids are calling a shoot out these days, I probably wouldn't have to reload. That's cause I'd have 16 rounds of 9mm instead of the 11 IDPA gives me and my spare mag is more in case of a jam than it is for extra ammo. But if I were defending the Nokatomi plaza and needed a reload I would look as I'm comfortable doing it and unless I'm taking on an army of ninjas, I doubt they will move much in the 1/2 second it takes me to do this.
  16. I have a carrier getting welded now. I will have to take that spring out. How hard is it to swap the carriers? Ted
  17. What does the shell release spring do and why does removing it help with the reloads?
  18. I had a timer stolen out of my range bag. Staples was selling off microsoft Zune accessories and I found this neat case for a Zune that fit my CED timer and a few accessories. Someone grabbed that case out of my range bag. The match in question had several new shooters who had brought wives and kids. I've always thought one of the kids thought it was an MP3 player in the zune case and stole it. Ted
  19. Your club is in the results. 10 shooters from a match held 9/9/12.
  20. Not many guys step up to do something like that. It is a lot of work and a lot of headache. I've not been a section coordinator but I do AC work for IDPA. I know how tough it can be. IMO the fact you cared enough to be concerned for your performance is a pretty solid thing. Don't be too hard on yourself.
