  1. Official announcement now that all details are done. Mel and I, co founders of ZSA, Zombie Shooters Association, are going to get married on 16 October 2011 during a ZSA match, at "The Range" in Oxford, NC, home of "The Carolina Cup" Idpa match every June. Many of you on this forum know the Cup and the place, and many of you know Mel and I. For those that don't, here's your chance to meet us. Everyone is invited to the match/wedding (don't worry, wedding will be "do you, yes ect", "make ready") and we will have a pig pickin BBQ after the match. 6 Stages approx 150 rounds all pistol with a side match and way cool raffle to offset the expense. Please check the website for details. Thanks and hope to see you there.
  2. Sorry Tom, you know me. I collect lead from indoor ranges, I smelt it outdoors, cast it into bullets outdoors, reload it indoors, and then shoot it indoors/outdoors. I am afraid to get my levels checked, but know I should. Many have said I'm brain damaged BEFORE all the lead but who knows!! Great point, and I will get the levels checked one of these days. I do wash my hands with industrial hand cleaner about every 10 minutes while I'm casting or loading.
  3. Stop chewing on windowsills in old houses, duh
  4. You need to read his article at the 4wheelguns.com sight. You will learn a lot (not necessarily about how to shoot a revolver). I always thought he was a Roger, now, I know he is an arthur. I wish Roger would add to his Blog. GREAT blog, with permission, I would like to add it to my ZSA site for others to enjoy.
  5. We shoot revos because we CAN, the bottom feeders just watch in awe !!!!!!!!
  6. Correction, people fear how long it takes to shoot a stage with "the wheel". I want to eat lunch sometime before we have to call it "dinner". But on the flip side of that, I'll pick up all your brass. It does not take us long at all to shoot a stage with a round gun IF you can shoot. The time is when the bottom feeders have to round dump and do the reload for 1 or 2 shots from a gun designed to hold 17, makes lots of sense to me. Add in the time to do the "barney mag" shuffle, and most of you are on the line alot longer than me.
  7. Now now, we must all get along, besides, what would we do with all the Blue Barrels? Guess we could all go fishing together, we all have fishing vests !!! Relax guys, it was a joke and yes, it was funny, if I do say so myself.
  8. The bottom feeder comment is in jest and to be taken that way, heck, I've been known to shoot a bottom feeder and venture to "The Dark Side" of "Sir Miss Alot" guns myself from time to time. Hope all works out with the health issues, see ya soon
  9. This makes my head hurt, I'm cleaning my 686 to shoot at the ZSA match tonight (our first classifier match) and the plan is to be high overall. Not sure if that will work out, but I will post a link of the results soon, and let everyone see how the revos and bottom feeders compare in the classifier. As stated above, there are different games, play what you want and be safe and have fun.
  10. I sympathize, John.... being in the backwoods where my Tactical Journal didn't arrive until yesterday. But dude... did you miss the thread here where everyone has been talking about that article for a week? Or Joyce Wilson's comment a few days ago? Thanks for the links, just read Joyce's reply, thank you Joyce !!!!, and will check the other, this was basically directed to the author of the article, and to get my revo brothers worked up.
  11. Just got the Tactical Journal, the IDPA publication, and read the article about some reasons to do away with revo. All I can say is what a freakin' joke. As revo shooters, we shoot each stage like we mean it, we can't miss. We don't plan where to dump a round to make it look like we are not round dumping and our guns are loaded to capacity always, period, We don't have guns designed to hold 18 rounds and put 11 in them, or play with 7 or 8 round mags when the stage design offers advantages to one or the other. We don't get "makeup shots" as we don't have the extra rounds. We just shoot, pure and simple. Not sure about the article's author, but perhaps he is in an area that has a few good revo shooters and they beat him on a regular basis and that does not sit well, like bringing the family mini van to a Nascar race and placing in the top 5. All I know is that in this area, revo shooters regularly place in the top 5-10% out of 60-80 shooters at all our local matches. Revo shooters can shoot, we don't bother anyone, so please, just leave us alone,,,, sit back and say to yourself "gee, I wish I was cool enough to shoot that well with an old round gun" as you try to remember to put 10 rounds in this 17 round mag and 11 rounds in that one.
  12. You have entered a tough world my friend. I have the Comp 3's and liked them until I borrowed some Jet Loaders from a revo brother, and I like them better. As far as what holders to use, my suggestion is to check with Bob at North Mountain Monnclips (link to him from our site) as he has all the best revo stuff (in my opinion)and follow the advice you get here.Good luck and welcome to revo world, where all the Cool Kids play!!
  13. I will go outside the official commands only at a local match with a brand new shooter. If I see the shooter is very nervous, I calm them down and I will go very slowly and add a few things to unload and show clear. This is just for safety's sake, the new shooter will not win anyway and I want them safe. I also explain that at larger matches or other clubs they might just get the official commands.
  14. Glad you have fun! You going to be around when it airs to give us some insight on the week-to-week shows and posts on the message board here? You guys are going to laugh at me. No way. NO ONE laughs at The King as long as I'm around
  15. Would love to do whatever I can to get you started in ZSA in Guam. Send me a PM with your mailing address and I'll send you some stuff. As far as speedloaders, I've always used Comp 3's and just borrowed some Jet Loaders from a friend, and I like them better, just my opinion
  16. Thanks, John. Wasn't pretty, though. We missed you & Mel. Hope you did ok in SC. I can't seem to find results (USPSA's site is currently squirrelly) Not enough shooters for a match bump to MA, but I'll re-classify before The Carolina Cup & hope to shoot with y'all. Tom Don't look up the results from SC Section, suffice it to say I am now CAPTAIN of "Team Suck"
  17. Some congrats are in order for you Tom, sorry we missed the match, SC Section is what we shot. Master now?
  18. I'm in, I'll pay double the entry if you put up big tents over all the stages !!!!
  19. Great job as CRO Bill, will work with you anytime !!! (Mel says the same)
  20. I've trimmed .38 spec brass down to .935" and use it with speedloaders (a tad too short to work 100%), and use them for ICORE and USPSA. As far as IDPA and their rules regarding revos, well nuff said. I am going to get my cylinder cut for moons on my 686 as soon as S&W gets me my 625 back from repair. You can use any brass in ZSA shooting, we are about the shooting, not the rules (safety is our one and only rule, followed by have fun).
  21. Thanks Linda and Lee, enjoyed working your match very much
  22. OK John. You've shamed me into it. Just penned Frank to change me to SSR / Ex, adding one more to the 'mix'. See you there! Bob Way to go Bob, when you get to the Cup, we MAY have a spot for you as one of the Royal Jesters, picture of The KING (the mighty grand exhaulted ruler of the REVOS, the one, the only, Mr. Cliff "OTIS" Walsh) and his Royal Jesters, myself, Luke and Forrest (picture on our ZSA facebook page). Look forward to shooting with you my revo brother
  23. Having had the honor of being in the presence of my hero, Otis, this weekend at SC Section, I can not miss this match. Now that I've proven that you can go down a little in skill, I'm proud to say that as soon as USPSA recognizes "E" class in revo, I got this!!!!
