  1. I couldn't agree more. The great thing about your accomplishment is seeing progression. Everyone that is now a top class shooter has seen every inch of the road it takes to get to the top (though the road is different for everyone). Next stop: World Shoot XIV
  2. Travis, congrats man. But why put yourself down by saying it's not much? Keep up the good work. Cheers, Bjorn

I'm not sure, but I'd say that quote 7 is from our host, so: 7 was Brian Enos
  4. Wow Tom, those are impressive numbers, man! Wouldn't want to run into you at a match
  5. LOL, Steve, that's not really how genetics work. Genes can determine in a way and to a certain extend, how good you can get when you do your best. And Jerry's trigger finger might be passed on to his children, or maybe they won't be able to fire a gun as fast as their dad. They'll get pretty close anyhow, if they put in some work. I remember an experiment where they grew lettuce. They made the heads smaller and smaller. When you finally crossed two of the smallest ones, you would get an enourmous one back. There are no simple rules in genetics. But I think you do agree that it is not a coincidence that most NBA players are tall, for instance. Genes can help, that's all. But I also believe you shouldn't be thinking about them too much. If you believe you'll never be as fast as Jerry, you probably never will be. So no matter what kind of genes you have, just work hard as hell. I doubt anyone will ever reach the potential limit that their genes allow. It's like having only 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 rounds at your disposal to become good. There's a limit, but you'll probably never get there.

Ok, 10 was Ted Nugent (God, Guns & R'n'R) 5 was Ron Avery
  7. And to make things even more interesting: How do you reload a revolver with one hand without breaking the 180?
  8. Erik, about your other gun: Isn't it possible to get some Heinies for it and weld some material on the sights and mill them down to fit the existing cuts in the slide?
  9. RC, yeah, genetics certainly have their role in this whole thing too. But you don't have to be able to shoot .13 splits constantly to beat Jerry (though I think Jerry won't be beaten in the next say... 10 decades ) There are people who can shoot faster than Eric Grauffel and can't beat him. There's more than just hosing involved. Don't give up after watching those tapes. Learn from them. In a year and a couple of months of revolvershooting I got my splits down from .35 to .23 and my reloads from 3.5 to 1.8. That's still not even close to Jerry levels, but I'm just going to work my butt off getting there... Think of all the things the tapes show: they all have to do with 'static' shooting and reloading. There are so many things that you can practice getting faster at. Movement between positions is a real time-killer if you don't train it. If you win .5 seconds at a movement between two arrays, that equals lowering 10 .20 splits to 10 .15 splits.
  10. Flex, I've been thinking about this today. First I thought: You should shoot as fast as possible, while calling all your shots A's, but that's bull, 'cause if you call it an A, it should be an A, right. But still I think it's as close as you can get with a simple rule. I found it difficult to define in words going for the A but hitting the C, in a sort of pre planned setting. How do you know how fast you can be. How can you define visual acceptability. You call your shots, but you all ways shoot to shoot A's. Damn, I swear I never touch the stuff, but reading through this......I seems like I was drunk when I wrote this
  11. jhgtyre, I understand what you mean, but keep in mind that the only reason S&W changed their policy (both times) was/is because of money. They're just as moral or immoral as they were before. They just realized they went a step too far and that it would cost them big time. BTW, the new MIM guns are horrible out of the box, but you can really fix that ugly trigger. I've tried some new tuned S&W revolvers and they're sweet. Good idea about that thumbrest
  12. Hell, I ain't stoopid, but I know you would have had a perfect score if you ain't had one of them new guns..... You're an idiot if you let your own political "ideals" get in you own way.
  13. Erik, yeah, it'll be an exciting match, no doubt. I know it says nothing, but TGO put Phil at 92,...% at the WS13. It could mean TGO and Eric will be dang close....It'll be cool.
  14. Great posts. I know so many guys that say: on this stage, time is important. And on that stage, points are important. But it is always the same! Shoot A's,........ as fast as you can. If you shoot all A's and you do it as fast as you can, there's no way you could have done it better. Not by rushing and not by getting more points. It is that simple, right?
  15. Ok everyone. The results are out. Eric G. won the match in standard (is it even possible for him to lose?) Phil Strader came in second at 90,12%(!!!!), JJ Racaza 3rd at 89,75% All I can say is that I'm amazed that someone can be the best in both standard and open. I heard he's getting some revolvers from S&W.......
  16. I always wonder why they still sell whole candy bars. I mean, you can choke on those. They're dangerous. They should liquify them, just to make sure that one idiot a year doesn't get himself killed. Guns with internal locks don't suck. Companies that decide you're potentially irresponsible and act accordingly, do.
  17. Mike, I can't wait to see it. I heard it was really scary. I love horror movies with zombie stuff in it. I hope it's as scary as I've heard.
  18. That's true. It definately takes time to get your reloads down to an acceptable time.
  19. Dave, I have no experience with them (Then why the hell are you replying, you #$#@#???? ), but I can reload faster without them then the movie clip on ther site. It's just another "thing" that's in the way when reloading, I would say. That, and the rediculous price is the reason I never order them, FWIW.
  20. ROTFLMFAO That kid......I'd hate to be him. And those guys....would no longer be my friends
  21. Carlos, yeah, I'm gonna get those other revolver shooters!! All three of 'em!!!! Vince, my thoughts exactly. If I was ever to prove to a RM that S&W produced guns with serrated triggers, and I would show up with that "reply", I wouldn't stand a chance
  22. Ok, I got a reply from Smith & Wesson. It's short. Very short. This is the exact reply I got back: <--- My reaction That's pretty clear, isn't it?
  23. Ron, send me a picture of you. I'll print it on a T-shirt that says "my hero"and will wear it to the world shoot in 2005 Thanks. Great. The trigger stays 100%. YEEEHAAAAA. Duane, that's the exact reason I bought the triggers. If I can remember, Jerry's word were: "with a smooth trigger, my finger would be all over the place". It made sense to me. Barry, what happened to your friends hand? The altering of the tension screw is not illegal. That would fall right in the "Internal modifications to improve function and reliability are allowed. "- corner. And now that I read that, I see I've missed something. Springs are internal parts. So they're allowed to be changed under these rules Why didn't I see that before ? Dang, I don't even have a problem. Is there something like trying to be too PC? Thanks everyone
