  1. Hi Mike, Welcome to the forums. So, you've finally got yourself a LBR! I would just give Taurus a ring and ask them how to deal with the problem. BTW, Taurus doesn't list any 6 shot .45ACP revolvers on their site. Is this a custom shop gun? Greetz, Björn Dietrich
  2. Only the tape would be legal at the moment. - Tungsten guiderod is a definate no go. It's not a factory part. - The triggerjob is allowed if it's only minor polishing and detailing. Shortening travel etc. is not minor detailing. - The basepads will change the factory dimensions of the mags and are not allowed. Sorry bro. IPSC Production division is more or less that...a division for Factory produced stock guns. You can fiddle with the sights, put tape on the frame, polish the internals and browse through the Glock catalogue to see which cool factory options you can add to your gun. But that's about it.
  3. Chuck, that's an awesome gift! And congratulations too
  4. I saw Open Water today. Man, that's one depressing movie. A true downer for sure.
  5. Feel the love y'all. I have to be as mean as Phil. I think there's some guys in your list that have no chance in Open at the WS at this particular moment. I guess we'll see...
  6. Vince, are you saying you think any of these guys can win Open Division at the WS?

    WTF Are We?

    Erik, yes I know. I love Frank Sinatra's "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch"
  8. No problem Carlos Well, first place was taken with a Glock. And at the EC2004 1st place Adam Tyc shot a Glock as well. No one brand/style of gun has dominated the Division so far. I think the Rules Committee did a really good job at that. You can just pick any gun from the approved list with a satisfactory capacity (15 or more) and win the World Shoot with it Some guns are just more popular than others. In eastern European countries CZ's and Glocks rule. In Italy Tanfoglios and Berettas are king. In Germany, Glocks HKs etc. etc.
  9. I know what you mean. Why do you think you can't follow your own advice?
  10. Yeah, I saw him shoot a couple of stages. Man he is fast! And gets good points. Well, that's what IPSC is all about
  11. John, trust me when I say that everyone makes mistakes like that. Once, I wanted to show my club mates how fast I could reload my revolver. Appearently I forgot to loctite the screw that holds the cylinder assembly in place. I made a shot, hit the target, opened up the cylinder, emptied it, grabbed a new clip, brought the new clip to the gun to find out there was no cylinder to put the fresh clip in
  12. LOL, that's a 5 second reload...! Ouch! A nice run down the drain
  13. My guess is both US teams will come in first and second. TGO 1st would be my bet.
  14. Not a lesser known shooter, but I think if Saul is shooting a trouble and jam free match, he'll be shooting for the title. Martin Kamenicek and Max Michel ahould be really close too. Of course, I'd put my money on Eric though
  15. AFAIK, 2nd Brocanelli shot a Tanfoglio Stock 3rd Jude shot a Jericho/Baby Eagle 4th Zucculo shot a Tafoglio Stock 5th Knapp shot a CZ 75 6th Iacomini shot a Tanfoglio Stock Correct me if I'm wrong. Looks like a win for Glock and the CZ + clones 2nd to 6th.
  16. I wear glasses every day. And I agree with Patrick. I couldn't get used to lenses. Now I wear regular RX safety glasses. Way better than the cool looking RX insert glasses. If you want to look cool, get RX inserts or lenses. If you want to shoot comfortably, get real RX safety glasses.
  17. Well I think this is where I beg to differ. I think two things make or break a gun in production division: 1) Magazine capacity 2) Sights Now, what I mean with "make or break" is that a gun with exceptionally good sights will win over a gun with exceptionally crappy sights. I believe that it's not possible to call shots with standard Glock sights (or standard CZ sights) as fast in every situation as with a pair of decent sights like Heinies. Changing the rule to your proposed rule means that you will make a whole bunch of guns with really crappy sights competitive. I know someone who bought a Para LDA just for the sights. If your proposition will be realized, a shooter like that can just buy any gun he likes and add any pair of decent sights. Magazine capacity speaks for itself (and is not the issue here) Other things, like recoil and triggers matter as well, but since they are standardized (sp?) in IPSC PD, they're no longer a real issue (kudos to the Rules Committee for that )
  18. Hop, yeah that's what I thought. If the slick grip is just for fast reloads, it's of no use to me fortunately (since I reload the wrong way )
  19. ah yes...the times I've been lauged at because of that grip... I ain't pretty, but I guess that's the part of me that doesn't care about looks. Still, I cannot believe how fast Jerry M. is with that small slick grip
  20. It's on Saul Kirsch's page Click here for Bruce Gray's article
  21. The punch can be overcome by getting an effective grip for your gun. Have you seen the grip I made for my gun at the Rooster Mountain match? It's a butt ugly POS, but it gives me a great contacting area between the gun and the grip. It's very soft to shoot that way. Shooting 230 grain RN and Vihtavuori N320 helps too.
  22. I agree with Bubber. Smooth is almost always faster. Lately I've been focussing on smooth only and dropped the whole concept of being fast and my reloads are about .25 faster consistently. The whole reloading process is very visual. You can't see a lot when you're tense. Practice smoothness and increase speed, but stay consistent. Once you start to miss reloads, it's time to take a step back.
  23. Vince, I like the proposal. I think it would be practically impossible to remain updated of which accessoires a cetrain model is provided with by the mfg. even if you narrow it down to "types of sights". Your proposed rule would make life a lot easier for ROs and shooters I think. We're only an "xx-rounds maximum capacity rule" away from a perfect Production division
