Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thinking of buying one that I would like to use for both CCP and CO. However the width of the pistol (without the optics) is 5.5 inches, which is about .2 inches longer than the width of the CCP TEST box which is 5.375 inches. Has anybody tried to fit this gun in the test box with an empty magazine and confirm the results? Thanks. Franco
  2. Yes, classifier plus some nice field courses. Gary and Dave already did a similar match at Linwood a month ago. Steve Irish will help too. we'll see you there.
  3. looks like the match is full - I do not know much about this match, but since the big guns from Michigan are going, it's got to be good. is this an IPSC match (not USPSA)? The pics from last year's match show metric targets, which suggest USPSA. It will be clearer once the matchbook is posted.
  4. I had similar problems with my regular M&P 9mm when I used Winchester white box ammo; once I stopped using them I had no problems with other ammo, including 8000 rounds of Wolf ammo.
  5. Again a GREAT MATCH. My compliments to Chris McNutt for another exciting match design. No one designs stages like Chris: they are all adrenaline rushes. some are just 8 to 16 rounds, and just a blast. Looking forward to next year's matches. Thanks also to Roy for reorganizing and cleaning up the storage house. To Brian for the stats and Rob, Chris and the rest of the gang for setting up. ~Franco
  6. Isn't it kinda late for that? Was there an issue? Scores are posted here: BCCC I think he's kidding. He probably means he's going to review his own scores. I should probably review my own while we're at it. The only question I had was I noticed that the blind house had times listed in the results. I thought it was a par time stage. There was an issue on Stage 3 with some par times, which was fixed late last night. The affected shooters have been notified. I initially posted on this site a report that I created that showed the scores by stage; when I learned that there was issues with Stage 3, I removed my report. ~F
  7. Congratulations to the Morgan Allen, the overall winner or the 2008 Michigan State IDPA Match Regarding other scores, they are being reviewed for accuracy. ~Franco
  8. Oh yes, very good match. Many thanks to don't-bring-an-auto Ed. The SO's were among the best and most courteous. Super stages. I initially ranked the highest the Coyote Heaven for the two running coyotes, but then thought that the Keep Up With Cover was just as worthy of a top spot for the moving cover (car) and the overall design. And then ShootOut At Joe's with the sliding target and the swinger. Don't want to forget the Garage stage with a slow slider, or the puzzling Blind Stage - almost forgot the door. What can you say about The Wall.. well, I'll let someone else describe that one. And the Lumber Yard.., yep I screwed up that too, don't know why, it looked so easy. And yes, the Short String, a standard exercise with gusto, and a COVER trap, we really needed that one, right Dick? I think I forgot the Hidden Assault, another seemingly easy one, that can byte you good though. Even the Standard Exercise was fun - that does not happen often. In summary, a super choice of stages, thanks guys. So, it was really worth my 2 hour and 45 minutes ride, definitely. Good stuff guys, good stuff. Thanks to all the statisticians and score sheet runners, we could not have had a timely award ceremony without you. Thanks again to the ROs, you guys were a lot of fun and made it pleasant, even in the rain. Thanks to the cooks - I would have feinted without you. And thanks to the Black Creek Conservation Club for hosting us. Thanks again to the IDPA-is-not-a-team-sport Ed... yes, we got it. ~Franco P.S. the Sunday rain was not that bad really, it may have gotten us more tired by the 9th or 10th stage though. It may have been worse for the Saturday shooters though.
  9. how was the match today (Saturday)? did it rain a lot just like here in South Eastern Mich? anything I should know before driving up? ~Franco
  10. anyone wants to share a room with me? I am planning to arrive Saturday afternoon ~Franco
  11. Congratulations to Cameron. It's no surprise that this was a super match. You know I wish I could have been there. ~Franco
  12. Friends, I am cancelling the Mother's Day Match of Sunday May 14. weather.com predicts chances of precipitations at 80% through tomorrow morning, with a similar situation in the afternoon This morning we setup 6 stages, then around 1pm we started shooting. 10 of us could only shoot 4 stages through the rain shower before it started to pour and we decided to stop. While the ground system was able to absorbe the rain reasonably well, it was somewhat miserable and there are high chances that it will be the same story tomorrow. As I am writing I am sneezing like crazy. Sorry about the short notice. Stay tuned for upcoming matches and sunny days. Franco
