  1. I own two Bedells and am very please with them, but Bob's guns are great also. It really came down to looks when I was deciding. In reality you can't go wrong from either.
  2. Dang, you are definitely right! Wow, that's super cheap compared to everywhere else I've looked. lol Jack is a shooter alright, that alone makes me feel a lot better. He's sending me information, I will probably be going through him after I get a change to review it. Thanks for info!
  3. Just want to provide an update, I finally ordered the safe. Anyone interested in anything Browning related items should contact Mike, amazing Browining gun inventory. Plus super nice people, really has the feel of a good ol' boy shop. I'll definitely be doing all my business through them from now on! COUNTRY ATTIC TREASURES Browning Full Line Dealer 3995 Hudson Ave South Lebanon, OH 45065 ph 513-494-2075
  4. I took these pictures to post on another forum where they were talking about carry ammo and what bullets to use, thought everyone might like. Top Left / Middle Left - 45 Auto Speer 230 gr GDHP Bonded - See gold dot at bottom of hollow point (Almost looks like you pealed a banana on the hollow point petals) Middle / Middle - 9mm Luger 147gr Win SXT Bonded - (Note the 'talon' appearance of the petals) Top Right / Middle Right - 45 Auto Federal 230 gr Hydra-Shok (not bonded) - Post in middle Bottom - 45 Auto Remington 230 gr Golden Sabre (not bonded)
  5. Looks to me like a Smith and Wesson model M&P R8 - Note the machined rail under barrel, there TRR8 is bolt on. S&W make pretty sturdy guns, to have a catastrophic failure of the frame it would seem to me like a bore obstruction would have occurred... but I don't see any signs of a barrel buldge. Maybe a fluke in the scandium receiver? I'd tell him to get on the horn with Smith.
  6. This is old news to WV, but I saw some other funny news headlines and wondered if anyone had seen this. I guess it's funnier to me since I use to work for West Virginia State Police. Toyota joke

What I find even more funny, is that I know exactly where that photo was taken at. Coming down huge mountain on 68 near Coopers Rock West Virginia, Cheat lake is at bottom, I've been boating there before. It's a hellova grade! Just northeast of Morgantown WV.
  8. I have been researching firearm insurance lately and so far this is the best my insurance company can offer (Erie Insurance) According to them, on my homeowners insurance (Firearm and Firearm related items) I have $5k with a max up to 3k per item. I was quoted $10 per $1000 extra to add to my homeowners. My agent recommended I can get a separate policy for only guns - Reason being is that I have a deductible on my homeowners that would have to be met, where as a zero deductible on a gun policy would be cheaper. For the separate policy the price is still $10 per $1000 being insured. I have to provide manufacturer / model / serial number. He said I don't need to get them appraised unless an individual item goes for more than $7k. This coverage also covers traveling with firearms / vehicles / shipping / lost / etc... I asked him about how do claims work. He said they work with http://outdoorsportingsupply.com/ (Insurance accessible only apparently) They submit the gun to them and they 'value' what it's worth. While some of my collection this would be straight forward, it would be impossible with my competition / custom guns. He made it sound like I would be covered and it would be ok... but who really knows unless you are put into the unfortunate circumstance of having to make a claim. Anyways, I thought I would share this info and see if I could get some feedback as to what other people think. Thanks
  9. If you want the capacity, you can't beat them. Granted I doubt I would run 100 rounds through my gun as fast as I could. I have the one with the clear back so you can see how much ammo you have left, never had any issues with quality or function. I'm pleased with it.
  10. This is a solid block of aluminum - Soon to be a Receiver After - As you can see, this is why Sigs cost more, everything on them are machined Smith & Wesson
  11. Unfortunately most manufactureres wont open their doors for people to see their goodies But.... At least I can give you a little glimpse Sig CNC Machines
  12. I've been to both, however this was part of my traing / work related... They usually dont allow visitors onto the manufacturing floor unless you are LE. Even if you are LE they usually only do it for groups. For example say you attend an armourer course there, sometimes they let you see manufacturing process. I can probably look through my hard drive backups of pictures I took. Sig is very impressive.. nothing but a sea of red CNC machines. After seeing all the machining that goes into them, there is no doubt the cost will be more... no forging here, just machining from solid ingets of steel / aluminum.
  13. I started a thread for people to discuss the R&R Targets Saiga guns http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=103269
  14. I had posted in the gallery requesting pictures for R&R Targets Saiga 12. I am seriously looking into purchasing one, but like all my gun purchases I am thoroughly researching them. I have spoken to a couple people (thanks Doug and 35WLN) Could I get some opinions / reviews / pictures from people? I started talking about them on another thread and hate to get that thread side tracked so I thought we could move conversations here.
  15. Definitely use JB bore paste on front of stainless cylinder to remove rings... I like to use a cotton swab, get JB on it and clean the surface. Leave front of cylinder perfect!
  16. Can you please post some pictures with the 22 conversion on. I was thinking of ordering one for my STI Rangemaster. Since it has a full length dust cover I thought the tactical solutions might look better? It sounds like all 3 are good conversions.
  17. Anyone seen / used these? http://xrailbyrci.com/ Remington 22+1 / 14+1 Benelli 21+1 / 13+1 (Integrated 30+1)!
  18. I'm wanting to purchase a R&R Targets Open Saiga and was wondering if any owners out there would post some pictures for me to look at besides the ones on website Any opinions on them? Thanks!
  19. Wow, wish I had seen this post earlier, I am a Firearm Examiner (BCI Forensic Lab in London OH). I actually worked a few months for Hamilton Co Lab, so I know the firearm examiners there. If you have everything you need, that's great, if not, let me know if we can try to help. you can pm me for contact info. Also, The Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners (AFTE)has a forum specifically for firearm examiners to communicate and aid in finding ammunition for various labs. Also for a little clarifications: While the firing pin contacts every cartridge in the cylinder, it is possible for chamber marks within each chamber of the cylinder to be identified. So it is possible not only to identify if a fired cartridge case was fired in a particular revolver, it is also possible to identify the specific chamber it was in. You can also examine the front of cylinder to look for cylinder rings (black rings of residue) usually the last round fired will have cylinder ring overlap. Also, most instances it isn't necessary to have exact ammunition to identify a fired bullet as having been fired by a particular firearm; however in some instances it does make my job easier. Granted usually it isn't necesarry to identify a particular cylinder... identifying the particular gun will suffice. In cases where distance determination is of interest (Muzzle to target distance) It is crucial to have the exact ammunition that was used to make test patterns of gunshot residue for comparison. Since there are many different types of gunpowder and primers, having ammunition as close to what was actually used gives the best scientific results for comparison to the gunshot residue on submitted clothing.
  20. Can't go wrong with surefire if you have the $
  21. I recommend buying a Rem 700 cheapest one you can find. Just decide long or short action. Once you get gun strip it down - trigger guard / stock / barrel - sell on ebay or gunbroker I use douglas barrels - they fit and chamber to receiver, they use to fit muzzlebrakes as well, not sure if they still do. McMillan Stocks - Send to them, they will pillar and glass bed (awesome job)
  22. I use Bore-Tech exclusively for all my guns 22 cal / 25 cal / 50 cal Awesome equipment! Never had any issues with mine. I've also had positive experience with there customer service when I ordered wrong length rod.
  23. Never put anything between scope and rings. Just get a good quality ring! Cant tell you how many times I've seen people put high quality glass on a nice rifle and then use cheap rings. Definitely not something to skimp on in my opinion.
  24. If you are spending over 1k - Nightforce all the way! Benchrest or NXS - Just remember the Benchrest ones have 1/8 moa clicks vs the NXS 1/4 moa Under 1k - Leupold VXIII Long Range
