  1. I've been tempted to order one of these for my M&P. What would be your recommendation: Sear, spring kit, or the whole action enhancement kit?
  2. Lady at Sig told me the X5s from Mastershop are made on a gun by gun basis, there is no overstock. The X5s on regular pistol page are still made in Germany, just not in the Mastershop. The trigger pulls do appear slightly lighter on the Mastershop ones also I'm guessing it to be similar to Smith and Wesson and their pro series, they are nicer than regular production guns, but not made completely in the custom shop.
  3. Thanks Warren, I think I got it figured out finally. The mover base is something new I haven't messed around with before. But if I have any problems or questions, I'll let you know.
  4. As I tell my wife... "Why do we always have to assign a number to things"... lol I can say I got it for less than MSRP... well bare gun that is (Aimpoint R-1 and 25 rd X5 Mag extra) It was quite pricey I have to admit, I think it took the record for being my most expensive handgun... Actually no think about it, it trumped my STI Open gun and HK SP89 and I still haven't gotten all the extra mags yet. It was one of those things, I had seen pictures of it a while back, but just never wanted to pony up $ to order one. Then recently I was thinking about ordering another one (This was spurred from watching movie "From Paris with Love" nice Sig X-5 Lightweight in it!), and when I called and spoke to Sig about it, they told me they had been discontinued and there had only been 3 imported. He said the amount of time involved in making it was rediculous and as a result was not cost benificial. I was a little disappointed, figuring I had missed my chance, and low and behold I actually came across one for sale. All in all it was pretty coincidental. Since there wasn't going to be any more, I had to jump on it or I figured I'd always regret it. Trust me.... no regrets what-so-ever!
  5. Is there any difference in the X-Fives listed under the regular pistol section vs the ones listed under the Mastershop page? I was under impression all X-Fives are Mastershop guns? http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProduct.aspx?categoryid=38 http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProduct.aspx?categoryid=61
  6. I added pics of the other side. Yes it is 9mm Luger caliber Like I said Sig told me there were only a total of 3 of these pistols imported into the US. So I guess there are still 2 more of these beautys somewhere! I'm hoping the letter of authenticity will have that information on it. I'll post it when it comes in.
  7. The screws on top should all be in place but loose. Turn them until they stop and then back them off 1/8 turn. On most mover bases there are allen screws to lock these screws in place. I can't tell much from the pictures but it looks like they are on the right side. The screws on either side of the base at the back allow you to set the amount of lead that you need. Looks like a nice piece. Come on out and shoot a match. Yep your right! Thanks for the info, I haven't had much experience with mover bases.
  8. The lever pulls rearward and then you can move lever to right or left, but it doesn't move the base any that I can tell? That's what has me confused. I took both screws out beside lever and base still wont budge. Ok, I just took the sight off, and there are 3 screws holding the base to the shield. When I took one of the screws out, there are plastic washers underneath them. The hole is also oblonged slightly so you can tweak the base slightly if needed. I'm guessing if you want to make the whole base moveable, you have to take either the back 2 screws out, or take the rear and front screw out so that the base can pivot on the remaining one. With all 3 screws in place the base is locked solid.
  9. Thanks! I'm pretty proud of her I haven't stretched her out much yet, but I've heard they will shoot some amazing groups at 50 though. Just got it last week, and got my scope in for it this weekend. Thus far I did a complete disassembly clean and lube of the gun. Very impressive. Man it's heavy, built like a tank. Guy told me they were discontinued because of all the extra machining / hand fitting / etc involved it was not cost effective. When I disassembled it first time I took cover off, but I'm wondering if I can just take the slide racker off and maybe whole thing will slide out the front. The slide racker is held on by a pin through rear sight notch with two super tiny e-clips on either end of pin. Removing will require careful work. But next time, I'll try it out. I'm a little confused with the comp / barrel config. It appears the comp is welded or if it isn't, it's extrememly tight. As a result the barrel wont come out of the slide. I dont have any problem cleaning, just different. Other than that only thing I haven't totally figured out if how the lever works. It was my understanding it would pivot the sight base for shooting moving targets, but when I loosen the two screws on either side of lever the base doesnt move? Not sure if anyone has ever handled one of these to know, but I'm sure I'll eventually get it figured out.
  10. I picked this Sig X-Five P226 Bianchi up recently and I thought I would share some pictures for those of you who might appreciate it. According to Sig this is only 1 of 3 that was ever imported into the US before Sig stopped production. I am still awaiting my letter of Authenticity from Sig.
  11. Although not technically a standard open gun, I picked this Sig X-Five P226 Bianchi up recently and I figured you all might enjoy. According to Sig this is only 1 of 3 that was ever imported into the US before Sig stopped production.
  12. I registered a couple weeks ago also and still have not received confirmation email. I also sent email to admin but no replys
  13. I have one and have never had any extractor issues. I'd really like to mount a scope on mine and see what kind of ultimate accuracy I could get. Just shooting open sights it seems to shoot pretty accurate. The only quirk I've seen is from attaching a suppressor. (FYI... It says in manual do no use subsonic ammo) What happens when you use subsonic ammo, the bolt doesnt go far enough back to allow the hammer to engage in the sear, thereby allowing the hammer to ride the bolt back down. This resulted in intermittent doubling and tripling...
  14. Good article! Thanks KKM Barrel, Dawson ICE Magwell, Dawson Adjustable Rear Sight and Dawson front sight. I would assume SJC maybe did some ejection port lowering also
  15. Can anyone help me identify all the modifications this G24 has? I had spoken to SJC and he said he originally installed an adjustable Dawson rear with fiber optic but he thought this was a specialized bomar. Front sight looks high, I would guess .3 height
  16. You will have to trim the pad slightly on the McCormick if you used the Dawson mag well. A flat edge file will make short work of it, no biggie
  17. Can someone post a picture of a slp with the nordic extension please?
  18. Well bad news, heard back from Jay, it is possible, but would have to be special order of at least 16 pistols. He said it would require complete new frame program to be implemented, and they manufacture frames 16 at a time on the CNC machines. Looks like either the 4.15 tactical, perfect ten, or Springfield TRP. Unless we can get 16 takers?
  19. Those are wilson combat 8 round with extended pads. Here is picture with Chip McCormick 10 round
  20. They actually put a new bridge in and it has a walkway on side so you don't have to share with vehicles. They have also greatly expanded the pole barn. Of all the $ they make, they should definitely be putting more back into it, in my opinion. But it's a heck of a time, rain or shine! A gun-mecca! Surprising, last year they didn't have flame throwers, not sure what happened? Granted I go to spectate, I've shot most of those guns before, or have friends I can shoot for way cheaper. We went down to the lower range, and you are right, I'd hate to guess how long it would take to get through that line to actually shoot. They hold competitions, never tried them, but I'd like to try that subgun course out, looks fun! Last year they were running Huey rides for like $100 per person I think. Buddy did it with his son and said it was pretty tame. There are youtube videos of people videoing whole ride. I remember first year I went they had this little 4 seater helicopter, pilot, me and 2 of my buddies. No doors, just your harness.... Man it was the ride of a lifetime! We skimmed the river so close that from my picture you would swear we were in a boat!
  21. LOL As I told by buddy... it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. Granted if you have never been, you will probably have to buy a gun either there or when you get back! lol This is my 10th season going. Yeah it's changed quite a bit in 6 years, new bridge, streamlined a lot... I usually always go in spring, haven't been to any of the fall shoots. Calling for a little rain Wed and Thurs, but sunny skys all weekend. Man when it's muddy... get a good spot to watch people get stuck and get pulled out by the tractor! LOL couldn't tell you how many broken bumpers and dented fenders I've seen with them trying to get people out - Note - Do not get stuck! It's definitely a 'man-cation' the smell of burning diesel fuel and gunpowder await!
  22. I haven't heard back from them yet, but I will let you know. I'm sure they can, look at the Perfect 10, it is 6 inch gun and has full length rail. I'm also fond of the Springfield Armory TRP - Have to get through the custom shop to get full length rail
  23. Anyone else going to Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot this coming weekend? I can't hardly wait!
  24. Here is my STI Rangemaster with a Dawson Magwell added.
  25. Have you contacted STI to see if they would make one for you custom? Actually I just sent Jay an email asking if they could do a full length rail on 5 inch tactical, I'll let you know what he says. I'd like to have one also, or maybe a duty one with full length dust cover, like the custom springfield armory TRP. I totally agree, I love full length dust covers as well!
