  1. And I was feeling sorry for you not being able to make the State match this year! Now I know the real reason....exhaustion! You better watch out, flies will get caught with honey!
  2. The Gugas Ribas will fit the round trigger guard guns and is very similiar to the new ghost in size. It also has a locking lever like the ghost that can be released easily during the draw. I'm waiting on the decision for the Provisional Single Stack Division holster requirements before I get one, otherwise I would have bought one by now!
  3. The word I hear is that Todd Jarrett is the man for breaking down a course of fire.
  4. 4.9 grains of Titegroup 180 grain JHP Montana Gold 1.205" OAL 5" standard STI barrel yielded about 167 PF
  5. Underlug I've loaded to 1.25" and make major using between 4.9 and 5.0 grains of Titegroup.
  6. Nemo I think I'm on the edge of understanding how to get this under my control, but just barely. My struggle is to force myself to wait (aka visual patience) for the sight picture (which ever type is required for the shot). I find it difficult to consistantly be stubborn enough to not accept a poor sight picture. When I am able to acheive this level of control I experience a greater level of recall and clarity of the just completed stage. When under this control everything is very clear, all shots are easy to call, and makeup shots are not required. When this awareness or control diminishes is when the problems start, the shots get bad and the recall afterward is not available or reduced to a "feeling" (good shot vs bad shot).
  7. That's the down side to ROing, sometimes you just can't see the gun. When something happens while the vision is blocked the shooter can get an undeserved break!
  8. Brian, I took the two day course from Frank Garcia and it made all the difference in the world. You get to learn the correct way to shoot of course, but more importantly, you will get a series of drills to practice that are tailored to your needs. Knowing what and how to practice is what will dramatically increase you abilities. Best of Luck, and don't forget to dryfire.
  9. Kim Troy, Thanks for the update, a little information like that goes a long way toward everybody having a better understanding of the process. I had no idea that NROI had been turned on its ear! As a shooter I want to thank you for all your efforts, it's the guys behind the scenes that really make it happen and I appreciate that it happens right!
  10. Nemo, I ran into him last month in Jacksonville at the SEPSA match. I believe he said that he has moved to Lake City.
  11. Heck yeah I'd shoot it! I started with a Colt Gold Cup and loved shooting it. 10 round or 8 round doesn't matter to me. I prefer Mag pouchs at any position and race holsters but I can live with my Earnie Hill leather. Since I shoot a S_I in limited, I will not shoot a SS for L-10, the thin grip and small magwell just feels foreign!
  12. Ron, You are absolutely correct, one screwup or mistake can erase or ruin a reputation based on years of good work. RO's need to be firm to ensure everyone's safety and should be courteous to create a positive experience.
  13. Smitty, Divide by 90 (Max score) Yours ought to = 73.33% My 61 points should = 67.77% I'd say you had a bad day
  14. The series regristration is up on the main site, additional content, USPSA information, point series.
  15. The challenge in shooting revolver in a typical USPSA course of fire is the 'Figure it Out' part! It's a cerebral game coupled with shooting skills! I'm sure you'll agree that the best stages include many skill challenges and many different ways to shoot them. This applies to any type of gun. It sure would be boring to always have to shoot the same stage the same way all the time. I certainly had fun trying to figure out how to solve the shooting problem while handicapped with six shots! The downside was that the revolver experience exposed some of may poor fundamentals. Certain folks operate on a different wavelength or plane and it's nice to have a place for them to play!
  16. I don't understand why this discussion always seems to end up on Sacred ground! I agree with Rhino, what's the big deal with dilution?, the same number of shooters are still shooting! Could it be a selfish desire to be able to shoot against all the best at the same time? For instance an open only match? You just can't simultaneously compete with TGO(Limited), TJ(Open), Sevigny(Production), or Jerry(Revolver). I say get over it!!!!! Someone made the point that I believe was the most important; there might be an opportunity to get the endorsement and support of some major manufacturers out there that are not presently represented. This is vital! There also just might happen to be a new shooter out there who might enjoy the division and stay in the game with the rest of us. I ask you, is this a bad thing?????
  17. Right on Col.!, that's how I got my start. I was told to watch a limited masterclass shooter who used a single stack 45 with eight round mags. Cuck was as smooth as glass . Before he had back surgery he would routinely whip all comers at our local area matches, including the guys with full race gear. This was before L-10 existed. There is one thing I want to add about the new shooters. Most of us go out of our way to get them started with equipment, encouragement, etc., but we need to try to convey to them that even though they may suck the first couple of times out, they owe it to themselves to give the sport a reasonable try. There is a huge initial learning curve in just getting familiar with what goes on, let alone the skill level. Most folks will become competitive or at least feel so in a short period of time. That's when it's really fun. The hard work starts afterwards (working on skills like draws, reloads, aquisitions, etc.). The point is to try to persuade the newbie to have a little patience before deciding that they aren't cut out for the sport. My name is Jim, I'm an IPSC shooter!
