  1. I think the big thing with these timers is the lack of interface to EZwinscore. Something which practiscore has down pat. I may be mistaken, but it looks like the CED timer only interfaces with their proprietary software, or WINMSS, the IPSC version of EZwin.
  2. Probably the best way is thru his web site: http://automaticaccuracy.net/ Steve
  3. I booked the hampton inn in Owasso, google says about 11-12 minutes from the range. I've always had good luck at hamptons. Free breakfast and internet too. Steve
  4. Have you tried pro grip lotion? Works great to dry out your hands and give a little grip right before a stage. Also a baseball rosin bag works well too. Good luck Steve
  5. Being a short dust cover gun, you loose a lot of the weight out front that keeps the sp01 flat. if you are shooting uspsa, I'd hold out for an sp01.
  6. Oh man, this post just made my day! I dropped my gun yesterday at a match and it got all gunked up with dirt and sand. So, I did my first full disassembly of my SP-01 shadow. I noticed after a bit that the right side detent was still in the frame, but no spring. I thought I had lost it. After reading this, i realize that i wasn't crazy and the spring wasn't there to begin with. Thanks, Steve
  7. Definitely deja vu. Make sure you shoot 1-2 matches after making the changes, before the majors. Just in case you get a bad part. Unlikely, but I wouldn't want a $3 crappy spring to ruin an area match or nationals for me.
  8. Probably a good time to replace all your springs while you are thinking about it: Recoil, Striker and firing pin block. doing it now will give you a little mileage on them before our upcoming majors....
  9. It most certainly beat us up today!
  10. Totally agree that this error is possible with any scoring method. However, as a manufacturing engineer, i like to try and take the human decision making element out of the equation as much as possible. Also, I'm sure attention to details like that can diminish at the end of a long match in the hot sun. Thanks for all the responses.
  11. Go with the ghost pouches....bullets out of course
  12. I've done that as well. I wanted a backup plan in case i forgot a USB cable.
  13. I've been using EZwin to register, squad and build stages. I convert the database to a .psc file using the EZWS2PS.exe utility. I then transfer the file to the 1st nook using an app called "Wifi File Transfer". Import the .psc file into practiscore and then sync the rest of the nooks. has worked great so far. I then use the Practiscore App Exporter to get get the scores from each nook back into EZwin at the end of the match. Good luck. Steve
  14. So we ran our 2nd match yesterday using practiscore on nooks. We also went without paper backup this month as we had no problems last month. So far, I have been leaving the individual nooks with the stage, rather than keeping them with squads. I had 1 issue near the end of the day. one of the squads started entering the scores shot on stage 5 on the page for stage 1. i think what happened is when getting ready to select their squad from the list, they backed out 1 menu too far and got to the stage selection screen. Then selected the wrong stage from the menu. I was able to correct the scores (same target count between stages). Luckily it was only 1 squad and they noticed about halfway thru that the header of the screen read stage 1 instead of 5. While I think this issue can be mostly prevented with training, i wanted to see if there was some other safeguard that could be implemented to help prevent this. Possibly either a password or confirmation box that would prevent you from going back any further than the squad menu? I will forward this question/request to the practiscore people, but I wanted to post here as well to see what other folks thought. Thanks in advance, Steve
  15. Its always those stupid points....
  16. Does your brass have crimped primer pockets? I've had the same issue on my 650 when a crimped 9mm gets mixed in with the bunch: usually starts inserting then gets stuck
  17. You should come up to sig on saturday. I'm going up with Scott B, and I know Dave S and Matt L are going to be there too. That will keep your fathers day free.
  18. I can draw you some. Let me know what shapes you want.
  19. A very generous offer Mr P, I'll think about it....what sights you have on it? Dawson adjustable rear and .100" Wide plain black front. I think I have 7 mags floating around for it.
  20. You can borrow the book if you want. For that matter, you can borrow my g34 if you want too.
  21. Yes, i pulled the info into ezwin to compile and upload scores.
  22. So we just finished up our first match using practiscore on Sunday. We has about 70 shooters and 6 stages. Scores were compiled into ezwin before the last stage was put away. We are using nooks and the response was very positive from all users. We left the nooks on each stage. Only minor issue was we had 2 accidental DQs entered into the nooks on a stage. At the time, I didn't realize that you can go into the shooter listing and un-dq a person. We did do paper backups for this match, so I just input those scores into ezwin and everything was good. I built my stages and did registration in ezwin and used ezwin2ps to convert my database. I installed a free app on the nooks called wifi file transfer to copy the .psc file over to the master, then synched up to all others. I really can't think of too much that I would want to change about the program. I am curious what the developers are planning on as far as upgrades to the android software. Thanks again!
