  1. I've shot the Miculek and Cooley at night, and was surprised at the lack of flash. Definitely more than a suppressor or flash hider, but nothing near what a plain barrel had.
  2. FYI, Midway is having a Black Friday sale on the new Ruger magazines today only for 17.99. I ordered some.
  3. My single stack has a green FO, and my production pistol and shotgun have red. I haven't seen a huge difference...
  4. All 3 on the right look good to me.
  5. Winchester 55gr FMJ's are $100/K from Midway 24.5gr H335 is $49.28/1000 Wolf 5.56 primers $15.50/1000 Range brass is free, so that comes to $164.78/K. You can frequently buy bullets on sale in bulk for cheaper, most of mine were bought at $6-$8/100. You'll have to add in shipping if you can't get the components locally, that adds some but doesn't make a significant difference if you buy in bulk.
  6. If only we could talk them into making one of their higher power Tac30s in mil/mil, maybe even FFP. I'd settle for just mil knobs though.
  7. I shot them both side by side when making my decision. The m2 felt like it cycled much slower, but there wasn't enough difference in recoil or cycle time to make a practical difference. I bought the FN based on price, I got a like-new SLP for not a lot over half of what I'd have had in a new M2 set up. I do like the slug sights.
  8. Good deal, mine is still running 100% as well.
  9. Another option if you want to ship is Accurate Ordnance. They're a new company, but the people in it have been in the business for a while and do excellent work. David Walker is a great guy as well. Good time to get in, as they don't have much of a backlog yet. http://accurateordnance.com/
  10. I did kill a deer with mine last month, it serves that role well. I've put around 1100 rounds through this rifle with it mounted, and probably 500 on the rifle it was previously on. I still think it's a great scope, especially considering its price.
  11. Understand. I have no dog in the fight, I have a JP, just curious.
  12. Why not? I don't know him, but he sure donates a lot to the sport, and he makes good gear. At the pro-am he sat down at the table with us and had a good conversation, he was down to earth, it was a little while before we even knew who he was. The free brisket we were eating was most excellent as well.
  13. Some somewhat local options for top quality work would be Tactical Suppressed Weapons, Dave Tooley, and Clay Spencer.
  14. I'm in the area, let me know if you need anything.
  15. See the following thread, I found several on the subject while troubleshooting. It moves the point of contact between the lifter and the shell as it feeds into the chamber. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=131323
  16. After beveling the chamber, installing Glock springs, and putting a Benelli bend in the lifter, it appears the FN is back to 100%. I've put around 100 rounds of birdshot, some high brass shells, and a handful of managed recoil slugs through it with no malfunctions.
  17. I suspect that many SLP's are like mine, they worked fine until we started modding them. If you look around, there are similar threads for Benellis and Remingtons, too. Congrats on the purchase, they're fine shotguns!
  18. Plenty of us that shot Pro for one reason or another are far from being a pro, it's all fun.
  19. Sounds like he can access other sites, so all that should be good.
  20. Ok, I tweaked the lifter down slightly. You can barely see the bend, but I didn't want to go any farther. With the guide on the right side of the lifter, any more would have made the lifter start twisting. I test fired it and shot 25 rounds without a jam. I still need to run some more rounds through it, but originally it would jam within 15 rounds, and after putting in the Glock springs it wouldn't run 8 rounds. So, it's a least an improvement.
  21. Ok, I got the Glock extractor springs in and installed them. It's jamming more frequently now, but it has moved where it's jamming. It's not on the right side of the barrel anymore, the front of the shell is going into the chamber. It almost looks like a 1911 when the rim is hanging on the extractor instead of sliding under it. It did this with different brands of ammo, both low and high brass, but Winchester AA's worked perfectly. I'm going to try tweaking the front of the lifter down to move the contact point further back on the shell next. Any other ideas?
  22. Cody Leeper was in my squad at Rockcastle, he shoots for them. It's not set up for competition, but it works just fine for him.
