  1. You could pay $110/yr + $3 per session, and drive 20-25 minutes each way like me... Jeff
  2. I'm trying to get DPMS to sell me just the barrel from the 3G1... I have the rest! Jeff
  3. Limited is only 500 units... I'm sure that has passed with the first shipment. Production might be a few months... Jeff
  4. Best shop in the Orlando metro area is likely Shoot Straight, in Apopka, but a LONG way from the attractions. Near the attractions, there's a large Bass Proshops, but they have little competition gear... Red Dot Shooting is a great place for USPSA/IDPA gear... but they are in Rockledge, way over by Cocoa Beach... Good luck Jeff
  5. I'll have to check mine again, but my Precision Bullet 147gr Molys make 880+FPS all day out of my M&P Pro (5") over 3.5gr of Solo 1000. I load everything to 1.125" for 9mm. That's 129 PF minimum. But then, I only shoot in FL... I'll have to check as the weather drops to a frigid 50-60 degrees in the next few months! Jeff
  6. Funny looking Glock, but great grip for a M&P Jeff
  7. If anyone fearing for their health wants to ditch a set of tritium sights for an M&P, I'm looking for some for my carry gun... I'VE heard that tritium will make you bald, kill your sperm count, and cause bad breath... but I might be wrong. (I already shave my head, got a vasectomy, and I brush my teeth three times a day... so I'm good.) I'll pay the shipping.... Jeff
  8. Like an addict... always looking for that first damn high! But BETTER!!! At least my addiction is cheaper than cocaine! Not much... but cheaper! Jeff
  9. Anyone shot the Levang Linear Comp? Kind of a "legal" suppressor... Jeff
  10. Does anyone here also hunt with their ARs? I want to go chase the plentiful wild pigs here in FL! - Great practice on "movers"! - Free pork! - Good fun with friends! I run a Miculek Comp on my 3-Gun AR, which works great for our game, but is BRUTALLY LOUD. I fired my AR ONCE without ear protection... once... Shy of getting the paperwork to purchase a can/suppressor, what's the best "muzzle device" for controlling noise? Thanks! Jeff
  11. I agree... AT the high school/college level. Elementary school, pee-wee, little league, AYSO... These are places where kids learn skills, and learn to love the game, not to get abused by their coach. I do think you should keep score. I do think you should crown a champion. I do think you should bench a child for poor play, disrespectful behavior, and poor sportsmanship. But there's a difference between "Positive/Negative Punishment" for young adults, and for children. Punish by removing fun/playing time or adding more vigorous practice, but not by screaming, hitting, or berating a child. Jeff
  12. YEAH! Lotsa free once fired brass! Just tell them you LIKE to live dangerously... Jeff
  13. I'll be second in line for a non-ported, variable choke, 22" with a fiber-optic sight... Jeff
  14. Competition season is just ramping UP in FL. Lotsa guys shoot less in the summer because it's too damn HOT! Come south! Jeff
  15. I sent mine to Dan Burwell before Apex even came on the market. I've shot BOTH... My gun with a Burwell modded trigger, and the Apex. The Apex is much nice than stock, but not NEAR Dan's work. The big difference is Dan did an overtravel stop in mine, so the trigger stops immediately after sear release, with NO increase in pre-travel. If you haven't felt the difference, you wouldn't understand. "Tactile reset" is a silly concept to me... Tactile FEEL and a solid CLICK to the reset is nice, when you're fondling a gun and checking the reset LENGTH. But with live ammo at SPEED, you don't feel a damn thing with any gun. You sure as hell aren't going to HEAR it. Example: Take a nice Glock with a really crisp reset, put on your ear-muffs... test it. The click is gone! Now add a gunshot... Reset distance is critical to speed shooting. Reset "feel" and "sound" are nice while gun-f-ing around the safe table, but mean NOTHING mid-stage.... Send it to Burwell, get it back, and smile... Jeff
  16. In my limited experience, and extensive research.... 3" 45s are horrible, but 3" 9s and 40s are fine. Something to do with the dynamics of recoil spring, slide weight, cycle time, dwell, etc... that a pro gunsmith could likely explain through the physics... makes the 45 unreliable under 4". Your mileage may vary, but reading the posts here... 45s suck, the 9s and 40s run like champs! Jeff
  17. That's the info I needed!!!! I just emailed Mossberg about a 22-24" vent-rib, fiber-optic, variable choke barrel... A 22" would be SWEET! I'd love to have a custom one, but I'm in the wrong tax bracket... Jeff
  18. My Burwell-Tuned M&P Pro, one year and 10,000 rounds later, isn't much over 2#. I'm use to it, but everybody else who pulls it usually follows the experience with: "Holy sh__ that's light..." Jeff
  19. +1 124s are cheaper. 147s are the rage for soft-shooting competition loads.
  20. The Mossburg 930 is at the top of my short-list for my first dedicated 3-Gun shotty. I hope they don't read their own hype here and raise the price... Jeff

    Ka-Boom

    That's comforting...
  22. I've got a line on a cheap Benelli M1 Super 90 RS (Rifled Slug). It has the rifled slug barrel, not the tactical barrel. 18.5", standard length tube, rifle sights, NEW under $700. Benelli barrels are expensive... I don't hunt with a shotgun. Am I better off just buying the Tactical for $900-1000? Will this run fine with birdshot loads, and be BETTER with slugs at 50-100? Will the ifling spread the pattern too much? Jeff
  23. I have see "under the coffee table" mini-towers, connected to 40" Flat-panel TVs, where the user can use the TV as a monitor for the computer, and control standard Brighthouse Cable functions from the keyboard/mouse. I have a 40" Plasma, and a good wireless keyboard and mouse. I need a new home computer (CPU) anyway... My cable and internet provider is Brighthouse with digital/DVR/high-speed internet. What's my best rig, bang for the buck... No high end processing to the computer, no movie production, etc. And I'm a PC guy, not a Mac. Thanks! Jeff
