  1. Joe L, That was crazy cool and I was amazed at the accuracy you were able to get out of your blaster! Thanks for the video and sharing your session. Cheers, RH
  2. 66L, give Sig a call and see if they can square you away. RH
  3. 400driver, thanks for the pictures! It appears that the shape of the extractor has been changed from the previous X-line, at least it is different than the ones that I have used in my 9mm X-5 Competition Model. I am optimistic that Sig revamped the design so it will consistently provide positive extraction. Is your pistol a 9mm or a .40? I wonder if the new extractor design would fit an older X-5? RH
  4. 400driver, congrats, that is a great looking shooter. However, I'm wondering whether Sig modified the extractor set up on new X-line or is it the same internal unit that was on the previous X-5 and X-6 pistols? RH
  5. Joe L, Did you ever send your X-5 back to GrayGuns for the latest-greatest extractor upgrade? If so, how dependable has it been? RH
  6. Perazzisc3, The suggestion by Felt to call the Postmaster is a great place to start. There is a chance that your bullets are sitting in your local Post Office waiting for you to pick them up, if someone wasn't home when they tried to deliver them. I've been of customer of Montana Gold for years and am sorry to hear of your experience with them but their customer service has always been great. Hope everything works out for you. RH
  7. glandry51, What brand were they? RH
  8. Bthoefer, A simple measure that I've heard and read about is to change out your recoil spring when its length has become 3 coils less than the length of an unused recoil spring. It's always worked for me and others that I know of that use this as a criteria for replacement. RH
  9. Smitty, Comp-Tac or BladeTech should be able to square you away. Check them out. RH
  10. Jeremy, As mentioned, completely loaded 10 rounders can be a real bear to seat until they've been used a bit. Perhaps the mag is not totally seated when you begin. Try this, load the pistol with the slide locked open so the first round is not initially pressing on the bottom of the slide as the mag is inserted. Drop the slide, shoot and see if the mag stays seated. If that doesn't do the trick, let someone else shoot the pistol or shoot it strong/weak hand only, in case you are pressing the mag release when you fire a shot and don't realize that's what's happening. Best Wishes, RH
  11. DoubleA, All Glocks have a certain amount of slop between the frame and upper, which allows for them to fire when they are full of muck. I believe this is what you are experiencing. How does it group at 15 and 35 yards? If you're scoring the shots you are calling, don't sweat it. However, if it is really getting on your nerves SJC will do a slide tightening job on it, which is intended to enhance the trigger pull but after many rounds the fit will most likely loosen up again. RH
  12. Always know you will hit your target, where you want to hit it, before your shots are fired. RH
  13. See everything clearly. RH
  14. If a general rule is made for tasks that need to be accomplished, these rules may be exercised when they are needed, without any hindrance or delay caused by conscious thought. RH
  15. Your actions now will effect the future. RH
  16. Be aware of all that is happening or could happen around you and take any action necessary to insure well being. RH
  17. IceDevil, VV320 and MG124's are hard to beat. Starting light and increasing the amount of powder slightly as you go is wise, as you mentioned. The loads loaded to the max (4.2-4.3) have worked best for me. Check your velocities with a chrono and you're good to go. RH
  18. TripleSingleStack, They should be fine. RH
  19. TripleSingleStack, I've ran factory recoil springs all the down to the minor power factor floor and the pistol(G34)functioned perfectly. However, your results may vary and, it's recommended that you don't cut it anywhere near that close, but it was nice to know that the pistol would still run with low powered ammo in a pinch. RH
  20. JZ, it's always disturbing to have a crappy session make you feel like you're losing ground. However, perhaps it's the way this session is interpreted and the changes that are made and implemented will turn this mornings practice into something positive. How would any of the following work for you? 1. Change the time of day that you dryfire (morning, afternoon, night) 2. Change your dryfire routine (different drills, positions, senarios, etc) 3. Shoot matches as often as your schedule and budget allows (that is, if your not getting out very often) 4. Take some time off You may have already thought of, or be incorporating some of these but they have helped me get through times similar to what you described. Keep the faith and best wishes. RH
  21. Flashooter, the piece of folded paper/card stock will be slipped in where the breechface and the rear of the barrel hood contact each other. This keeps the action slightly out of battery so the striker spring is compressed when the trigger is pulled but the striker will not be released. I've found that using a thin piece of plastic, like the material the clasp for a loaf of bread is made of, works well. Just size one so it fits into the breechface and you're in business. RH
