  1. My accuracy was acceptable once I put in the Apex FSS/Trigger kit. I also have a storm lake barrel (threaded for a suppressor) that I have not yet used. However, I will be sending mine to Apex to have the new BarSto barrel fitted once this is available.
  2. I had Springer do the side slots in my M&P9L just like RWF. Looks and shoots great and Springer always does excellent work!
  3. Wow! Thank for the advice and the video link. It looks like the challenges that I have are normal and I have some good new advice to improve my technique and I just need to practice more.
  4. I just ordered a vest from Carbon Arms and had very quick shipping to my door in a couple days. I've watched the video of James, Mark and Matt running this and they just seem to be able to slide those shells in much faster and much more reliably than I can. After one hour of practice, I had one 6 second time, but most were around 10-11 seconds which is about how fast I can do a weak hand reload anyway. It seems like the shells either want to separate or the second shell doesn't feel all the way and it pops back out. The backside of my pinky finger is sliding along the inside of the receiver and I can't believe I haven't cut it open yet. It would be great to see some slow motion video to see exactly how the shells are grabbed/held and the hand/fingers are positioned as the shells are fed into the shotgun. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am using the Brownells Dummy rounds and my Salient Benelli. Thanks! Damien
  5. Well after being on the same Squad with Mark at BRM3G, I've decided to order the SSL Vest from Carbon Arms. I should have a chance to shoot with it once at a local match before the RockCastle ProAm. I practiced week hand reload prior to the BRM3G for about 30-45 minutes a night for 2 weeks before the BRM3G and I was still slow compared to the Mark and Carbon Arms system. Well I haven't even shot since the BRM3G so I'm looking for shortcut to speed my reloading since I am a "recreational" 3 Gunner. I hope that this system is as easy to load into a Salient Benelli. If not, I may have to resurrect my SLP from the safe and send it to Matt for some work.
  6. Jeff, That was the PredatAR 762 and I plan to bring it to the match. I also have the OBR and I can bring that too if you'd like to shoot it. PM sent.
  7. I'm shooting AM with my LRP-07 and that's as close to HM as I get because I have a new 6" Fat Free 9mm that I want to shoot I'm sticking with my Salient M2 that I've only shot a few times. I know......I'm flying my Dad out shoot with me and he's never done this before so we are shooting AM together.
  8. The obvious answer is shoot more matches with different rifles. I wish the solution was as obvious as the answer.
  9. Hmmmmm.......I can't quite swing that but if you finish my 6" 9mm that you are building for me and get it to me in the next two weeks, I'll put my Glock 34 on the table
  10. Rifle question? I several rifles that sit in the safe begging to be shot and I just don't have much time to shoot them. I am shooting in amateur for this match and the rules don't allow the shooter to change rifles unless your rifle is broken/unable to fire. Since I'm shooting amateur and the prize table is a random drawing, could I shoot a different tac optics rifle for each stage or would this be a match dq once I shoot the second rifle. Perhaps I could just be eliminated from the prize table and not dq'd?
  11. Thanks for the info. I'm in the market for another 1-4X. I have a KDot and Z6i, and this new KDot may be just what I need.
  12. I have the Comp AEK on my M&P9L that I use for 3 Gun. It didn't take long to get used to it and I really like it (I like the shorter reset and 3 lb trigger pull compared to stock). However, I've ordered the $159 FSS Kit and will give it a try as well. I have larger hands and I think the shape of the trigger alone will be an improvement. I am also getting a 2011 9mm, so it will probably help to have a similar trigger pull/feel with both guns.
  13. I have the M&P 9L and I shoot 115 gr. Atlanta Arms and Magtech (both with about the same POI) with a Dawson adjustable rear and .305 front. I choose the larger front because I wanted a tall front sight to also shoot with my Silencero Osprey 9 Suppressor. My rear sight is also barely hanging on because it is adjusted all the way up. Having said that, I shot the BRM3G with it and had no problems. It was my best match for handgun ever (coming off shooting a Glock 34) and I think the Apex competition trigger had a lot to do with it. I've decided to shoot this pistol for 3 gun now and I'm going with a .285 and I'm not going to worry about my sight picture with the suppressor for now (I probably have another 6 weeks before I get my stamps from the ATF anyway). I also need to track down some Atlanta Arms 147 gr. to see how it shoots compared to the 115 gr. I need to post pics because I had Springer do some slide cuts for me and I've painted the frame FDE, except for the grip, and had the grip stippled by Ben at Boresight Solutions. Aside from that, just Apex RAM and Comp. Trigger. I love this pistol!!!
  14. I have a Salient Benelli and FN SLP Mk1. I notice the recoil a little more in the Benelli when I pattern it or sight in slugs, but during a match, I don't notice it at all. I'm 6'4" 250 lbs. What I do notice is that it is lighter, points/swings more naturally for me, loads easier (especially week hand), has a better trigger for those occassional 75+ yard slug targets, and I glow with joy everytime I shoot it! Oh yeah.....it costs a little more too.
  15. I had one installed in my CTR-02 and LRP-07 before I knew better. I've decided to leave them on for the CDI factor and the fact I really don't want to take off my hand guard.
  16. No they don't take credit cards. But Tony at Velocity Shooter vouched for them. He said Salient is extremely busy with production of these shotguns. Tony didn't have any completed Salients in stock, so I did some scrounging around the internet and located a NIB 21" M2 for $1,100 OTD. Once I got it, I called Tony back. He was nice enough to provide me with the cell number of a contact person at Salient with the strict condition I not give it out. I called the guy at Salient, talked with him for about ten minutes about the shotgun package, prices, and options. He said they are VERY busy and it seems everyone all of a sudden wants one of these shotguns. Decided to make the move and shipped off my M2 with a payment check for the work. I'm looking at about a month wait to get the gun back. Worse comes to worse, Salient is only about a six hour drive away in case I need to do business face to face. What I have noticed is the price on the Salient M2 is slowly but steadily going up. Price is now hovering around $2550 for a new, complete gun - but it seems they're all spoken for. I wanted to get my hands on one before they start nearing $3K. Wow!!! I thought I was getting stuck just a little for paying $2100. My Salient Benelli is my favorite gun now. I actually shot a 4 birds better at a round of 5 stand with my 21" Salient compared to my Beretta Silver Pigeon II O/U.
  17. I've never heard of this website before. Looks like it may be a good place to get deals. Looks like about a $30 savings compared to any other place I could find. Thanks for the link!
  18. I've got my tick spray and 1.75l bottle of Woodford Reserve....hmmmmm....am I forgetting anything? NOPE!!!!!
  19. I'll be getting in Thursday around 5-6pm. I'd like to take a look if you have time. I already have a K-Dot and Z6i, but I just picked up a 762 PredatAR and I'm in need of some glass for this.
  20. Sorry. Must be my ADD or HUMA syndrome. I completely missed it. Thanks!
  21. I noticed that you just printed this! Is there any way you can send the program to me. I can't believe Swaro updated their program and didn't include the Z6 1-6 BRT reticle in the update! Send me a pm or e-mail if you can help me out. I have the Ballistic FTE program on my iTouch, so I know my holdover in Mils, but I really prefer the printout. When I go into panic mode at my match next week when trying to shoot at long range, the reticle picture will be easier for my brain to process.
  22. Since this will be my first match switching from a Glock 34 to a 2011, this is GREATLY appreciated.
  23. This is good news. I was fortunate enough to pick up a Salient Benelli a couple months ago and couldn't be happier. I know others were having difficultly finding one and there were no M2 fields to be found anywhere. It appears there are issues with importation of these, but I hope that those in charge at Benelli will actually have product AVAILABLE to consumers with their increased marketing effort. Nothing screams failure like a marketing blitz and having no product available.
  24. Well that sucks. I'm going to put the Z6 on my 556 for the BRM3G match and I guess I will do without the printout from Swaro and just know my holdovers in mils at 6x.
  25. I know this is a lame reason but here it goes. I was planning on getting a SCAR-H after seeing the pics and reading the reviews and the first time I handled it was at the NRA convention in Charlotte last year. I just didn't like the feel of the rifle. I know how it's done on all the tests, etc., etc. I just couldn't see getting one after handling some of the others at the show. In my 308 stable I have an LRP-07, LaRue OBR and a LaRue PredatAR coming. I think the SCAR-H is a great rifle, but it wasn't how I wanted to spend my money for now.
