The tight fit in Aero lowers is not confined to the POF trigger pack. Some others also exhibit this same phenomenon. The Aero lowers are tight in the trigger cutout area... Mick

Let me know if that shortened cap doesn't stay on tight and I will let you know how to fix it. There was a very specific mod done to prevent caps from spinning off, and by shortening it, you've removed that feature.... Mick

So, CZC took care of the hammer follow issue. Looks like the hammer hooks went. Best that could be determined was that the over travel screw had walked, which caused the hammer hooks to drag on the sear. CZC went through the trigger mechanism so I know what to look for if the over travel screw ever walked again, or there was any other issue causing hammer drag. Kudos to CZC for the first class customer service! Mick

Looks like you have the Mk2 version of the +1. The Mk2 models were lengthened by ~0.5" to take into account different shell lengths like slugs and buck, and still give the +1 capacity. And yes, they are threaded deeply by design, no luck about it! The Beretta 1301 has a longer forearm, so with that tube, the Mk1 Roulette +1 is what is needed. For a VersaMax Tactical, the Mk1 +1 was designed to be about 0.25" longer than the end of the muzzle with an extended factory choke tube. The Mk2 +1 will be ~0.75" past the end of the muzzle..... The reason for the 4.5lb pull weight of the POF trigger is so that it complies with the minimum pull weight requirements of may LEO agencies for patrol rifles. Mick

My CZC SPO-1 just did the same thing on Saturday. SRT trigger work by CZC, started getting hammer follow. Don't think the trigger had over 2,000 rds. Anybody know how long the tuned triggers should be good for? Oh well, off to CZC to get it fixed. Good thing they are local!! Mick

I have a new STI Trojan in 9mm. Fired a handful of rounds and picking up the brass, noticed the off centre primer strikes (see picture). I took out the firing pin, inserted one of the empty cases and looking through the channel in the slide, determined the strikes were in the 12 o'clock position. Is this normal for a 9mm 1911? Or is it indicative of any issues such as; - firing pin hole drilled off centre? - barrel not coming up high enough? Mick

Same issue in the large frame Tanfoglio platform as well (at least in the early large chamber guns) and IIRC, the old Para P16-40. Load to 1.18 and the problem goes away... Mick

If this is happening on all of your AR's, then either all your AR's are defective, or all your mags are defective, or more likely, you are just not inserting your mags with enough force to overcome the spring tension... What happens when you slap the bottom of the mag to seat it? Mick

I'm wanting to replace the mag catch on my STI Trojan with an extended unit. Any preference for Ed Brown or the Nowlin units? The Nowlin comes with the lock and spring, the Ed Brown doesn't. Any others I should consider? Mick

Can someone guide me on the correct way to fit and properly tune a 1911 mag release? In particular adjusting the underside of the catch to allow smooth insertion of the mag. Thanks! Mick

I would modify the shotgun tube length limit to state; 5.3.3.1 Only a tubular magazine is permitted, and its effective interior length may not exceed 23” measured from the front of the receiver. Plugs are permitted to limit interior length to 23". Speed loading devices are prohibited. This would keep the tube length intent, and allow the competitor to use a plug or piece of wooden dowel, special cap, etc. to limit the inside length, and still give some standoff from the muzzle for protection. My suggestion would be to contact some of your OR based companies. Two spring to mind - Leupold and Warne Scope Mounts. As has already been mentioned, you should have an Overall match Sponsor (aka Title Sponsor), followed by a Sponsor for each stage. You can have 2-4 sponsors per stage. You can also do Equipment Division sponsors. It would go something like this, in order of highest to lowest contribution; Title Sponsor ($1,000 to $1,500) Division Sponsor ($750) Stage Sponsor ($500) Match Contributor ($200) Since you are doing a benefit match, I would recommend a lot of swag from the companies (hats, shirts, pens, etc) so that each competitor gets something. Then a small number of random draw prizes of up to ~$200 in value (trigger groups, stock kits, etc). Your Title Sponsor could also donate an item that you use as a raffle, to raise more dollars for the cause. Something like a $750-1,000 scope or complete rifle or pistol. You plug the sponsors on Facebook, at the local ranges, the police stations, etc. and mention the cool stuff they donated. Sell the raffle tickets everywhere you can, then have a table on the range during the day of the match to sell more tickets. Also have a local restaurant provide food for sale, with all proceeds going to the officer. Plug them as well. Run 4 stages, with a total of 8 squads. One squad on, one squad off format. Have a small side match with a $5 fee where people can win some other prizes (top 3 with one or two random draw). Point out that all match fees, raffle money, lunch money, etc. goes to help the officer pay his medical bills. Mick

Check your carrier key is not binding with the gas tube. If good there, change to a different bolt carrier and set the gas to wide open and see what happens... Mick
