You could always build a nice sturdy bench and get one of those tri or quad fold things to hide it in the corner.

I would say I am a feeler but neither option one or two. I do not even think about my grip anymore and do best on a stage when I just relax and go on autopilot with out thinking about anything.

You could always ask the clubs from the Mid Atlantic Section to all design and staff a stage if it is hard to get enough help from York alone. I know that that was how a few Mid-Atl's were done in the past.

I have seen just as many failures with paras as any other platform. I have had the same P14 for Limited since 1996 and hardly ever have a problem with it and it still has the stock frame, slide, and barrel. I can not speak for the recent ones but most of the people I know that have them have had them almost as long or longer than I have had mine. My experience has not been bad and the gun will still shoot 2" groups at 25 yards easy enough. I do not know how many rounds are through it but I know it is well over 50K. It is not tight anymore though and the blueing is worn off all over so it is not pretty to look at. It looks like it is always in a bad mood and I have renamed it "Rusty" My first Open was a first gen Para gunsmith frame and shot great for me the entire time I had it. The only time I had a problem with that was when I over buffed it (that was a common practice back then). (edited to take out useless rant) Any gun that will see competition should have the usual once over by a competent gunsmith. I would feel comfortable with a para just as I would with any other name out there. You should realize that if you ever try and sell the gun you will take a loss on the Para as compared to an S_I but if you know that you will stick with the sport you will still get years of use out of it.

I have always used one and never had a problem. I change them about every 500 rounds or so. Whenever it gets chewed up early I know it is time for a spring change. Usually when I change it there are only light indents on it and it looks like it would easily do another 500 rounds.

If you ever watched from the side as some one shoots you will see that the slide is forward long before they break the next shot, even when firing extremely fast splits. There may still be motion with them managing the recoil but the slide is locked forward long before the recovery. You can shoot 45 just as fast as 38sc or 9mm. At a local level I would say that a .45 is not at that mutch of a disadvantage to a .40. I do not own a .40, only a Para 14 and I very seldom feel at a disadvantage to others at local matches. I am not about to go run it at an Area Match and feel the same way though.

I just orderred a box because I never see them in the local matches. I figure I should practice at least a little on them before I run into them at a major match. I could really care less about which target I shoot at though. I understand the reason for a change in areas and if that is what it takes to make this sport grow and become more appealing and acceptable to the general public, then I am all for it.

Can't you just take an empty tube and tape a round in the top and then fill it up from undrneath with the 20/21/22/28/29/30 rounds that the mag will hold and measure from the bottom. Then just add half the diameter from the cartridge to get you measurements. I would think it would be easy you just have to make sure you stack the rounds right in the mag.

Start doing some drills and always try and track the sight. Try to call your shots even when trying to shoot groups as well. It takes some time and effort but you will see it eventually. As for the second shot......do not just pull the trigger a second time....wait for an acceptable sight picture! It takes time and effort but you will get there.

I have the same on my SV and also had it on my old Para. I think the benefit to it is that you can get your grip very quick when you let it go. There are pros and cons for everything.

I liked the movie but I know it was not realistic at all. I know that there are some Officers that are not that professional but the LT in that was worse than the inmates. What I didn't like about the movie was that I almost found myself rooting for the main character inmate. I hate to do that! It is cool when the film crews come into your facility. I got to see some of Hurricane, He got game, and Oceans 10? all get filmed at my old jail.

For over 12 years now I have used nothing but lead in my .45 I had some build up issues when I did get off brand bullets though.

JMHO build it first without and see how you like it. Put a few hundred rounds through it. If you think the comp isnt working try bumping up the charge a little. If you still aren't satisfied you can always add the holes. I prefer the feeling of an open gun working off the compensator alone. Brian

Did you change your load? I have noticed that my para feeds lrn much easier than swc. I use a 14 pound with the round nose but use a 16 to reliably strip rounds from full mags with the semi wads. When I used a worn out 14lb spring with the SWCs I would get some feeding problems......never at practice of course. A fresh 16 lb keeps it 100%.

The only time my C More lost zero is when the body had cracks above and below the windage adj screw. Went from doing 1" groups to 8" groups real quick! Look around at the body for any cracks, large or small. The rebody does not cost that much and I had the scope back in 10 days!

To get the belt through you have to pull with all your might!!! Especially if you have the belt adapter in there. I had to shave the adapter to get my CR Belt throught when I outgrew my old Safariland belt. How did the holster work out for you???

The burner series. I do not have experience with many others other than IPSC Secrets which is great for its price.

With a 1/2 day format I know I would be much more inclined to stick around the vendor tent for a while. I always supported them at matches anyway just to show my appreciation, even if it was me just getting a few followers or buffs.

I think I will be attending this! I haven't shot an Area Match in over 8 years! If I am lucky I will get squadded with Jim and get to annoy him all day I am sure that will be a treat!

Alot of the time you think that the dot takes to stabilize is just percieved. Do a few drills and break the shot before the dot stops and then do a few more and wait for it to stop good enoough for a sure shot. You will see there is not much difference. It will be something like .02 to .04 seconds.
