Take the priming system out and look at the cup. I am willing to bet that it is slightly deformed from contact with the shellplate. It happened to mine once. I just lightly took a file to it and got it running good again. If it is not fixable that way give dilllon a call.

Well I got it set up yesterday. Didn't take that long and I cranked out 100 rounds in less than 10 minutes. I am very happy with it. In the initial run there were 2 times that a case wasn't inserted into the shellplate. I just picked up the primers and put them back in the tube. I did notice that even taking my time that this press does throw powder, not a whole lot but it is noticeable after a few cases. It also likes to send primers everywhere, I will figure out where they are coming out from and figure out a way to minimize it. I could not believe how much smoother the entire process was. I never had a problem with the SDB's feel but they are totally different.

I think I have been guilty of the quick ulsc. I seem to remember a nice German gentleman having to repeat ULSC. If I could only remember his name????????????? I have always stated to competitors that I RO that i have to actually see the chamber. 2 times I had a loaded round come out at me and a magazine with ammo clearly visible.

After 14 years of loading on a Suare Deal I have a 650 on the way. It was not a bad 14 years and I could never justify buying the 650 until now. I just have to decide if I keep the SD as a back up or sell to recoup some funds. I am sure I will be needing you guys, or the search function, if I run into any problems. This now takes away my excuse that I can not shoot because I do not have any ammo loaded. I am sure I will type to you later. Brian

I went with the Pocket Pro 2 just a few months ago. It also has a battery life display so when it gets low I can change it. I have an old Competition Electronics Timer, I forget the model # but it is huge, and have had the same battery in there for the past 3 years. It is now just relegated to being a dryfire timer.

I would say that he did pretty well without a dot and may have been better if he had even thrown on an old tasco like he use to use.

I think you found the, or an, answer. IMHO a lot of shooters like the shortest possible reset on their triggers because it gives them the fastest possible splits. Back out on the overtravel a little and you will not have to worry about pulling the shots as much if at all. It should also help eliminate trigger freeze if it is there. I try not to overcomplicate things, if you are shooting well and think what you are doing is right and working for you I would not start questioning all the techniques you are applying unless you find that they are actually questionable. When you start questioning techniques your technique will suffer. The overtravel screw is a simple adjustment that might be all that is needed. If the problem persists look in other areas.

I do not think that there is a best. I like mine to flip a little more than most so that I call my shots better. Some people like a really flat shooting comp so they can call the first and trust that the second will be there. There is also the short / long debate. I prefer the longer (softer feeling) comps with three vertical and four sideports without any popple holes. That is my preference and powders used make a difference as well. I am using 7625 for mine, 350 at the same velocity feels snappier and shoots a little flatter in my gun. Try out different types at the range from people you shoot with, using your load and see what feels best to you. Edit to add-------mine is a One Off designed EGW cone comp but very similar to their standard comp readily available. I have shot the trubor barreled comp as well and although it felt slightly nose heavy, probably because of the bull barrel, It was also very easy to call shots with and was slightly flatter in response to mine.

Hey Nik......How come I never get paired up with new shooters????? I am not a certified RO. I have a decent working knowledge of the rules but I always ask someone new or unknown to me which way they will turn. I have been surprised though, by shooters that I have known and shot with for years that I absolutely know what they are going to do and I am sure of it.....the shooter before them turns the other way and seemed to do a decent job so they change it up and turn to their weak side and come darn close to the 180 and in 1 case swept me. That is a nice feeling when you know that they break the safety barely out of the holster and a strong breeze can set the trigger off....................Good times

I would also like to thank Alan, Lew, Linda and all of the ROs, CROs, and all other volunteers that helped put this match together. I had a great time and got to meet and shoot with some great people and shooters alike. Maybe I will perform a little better next time. The bolts arrived this morning before I went to work. When I got home I put the new bolt in and in no time at all I had loaded up all the ammo I need for the match. Dillon, Thank you again!!!!!!!!!! I will hopefully be upgrading to a 650 next season and their service is a definate reason why!

So Here I am this morning loading my rounds for the Area 8 that I am leaving for in 2 days. I get through 52 rounds and then SNAP!!!!!! Powder goes flying around, the shell plate is almost on it's side, and did I say I am leaving in 2 days.......? I anxiously wait for the time zone difference so that I can make a call to Dillon to see if I can get a bolt in time. In the mean time I am in Panic Mode. I start thinking of other ideas and call Atlanta Arms to see if I can get 400 rounds there in time, they assured me that they could if needed I get in touch with Dillon (I forget who I talked to) and they are sending me 2 new bolts to get my SDB up and running with the 2nd for if it happens again. I am paying for the next day shipping and I would not expect that to be picked up by Dillon anyway. I am sure that the bolt will come in tomorrow and I will be able to load up for the match before we leave. I really do appreciate the service that Dillon shows. I have had the SDB since 1996 and I would not blame them if they made me pay for a part that I got 13 years out of. I also appreciate the service that Danny at Atlanta Arms and Ammo gave. When I told him that I would be able to get the bolt in time he was glad that the situation had worked itself. I will definately be calling them in the future to test out some of there ammo and if I ever do a back to back I will use them instead of worrying about too much weight on a plane. Brian

I ditched the cominolli a long time ago because of that. I changed out both buffs, practiced about 1500 rounds problem free and went to the 2000 nats. I had jams everyday except for the last when we realized that the back buff had mushroomed slightly and was slowing the slide down. I thought it was a great guide rod and I did change the main buff before the match but I didn't change the little one because I didn't have anymore. Three big name gunsmiths looked at it over the course of the match and then we were able to figure it out on the morning of the last day. Don't you just love Murphy's Law?

I took a group class with Mike D in the spring or summer of 97. I was a wild C class limited shooter that could not slow down at all. Within a year to a year and a half I was A class open and taking High A at Area matches. In less than 2 years from taking the class I was a Master. (Da** I feel old now) I highly recommend Mike. Even in the group setting he spends a lot of time one on one and helps to straighten out any problems he sees. There were about 10 people in the class and they all went up at least one class and were much more consistant and confident. Taking a class from anyone will help you as long as you apply what you learn. If they show you how to calm down and focus and the buzzer goes off in a match and you just go into hose mode anyway, then you just wasted any money spent.

Jeff Fadil, a good friend, built mine. It has been extremely reliable and is much more accurate than I am. My first Open was a used EGW Para that also always worked great.

"Oh Yeah" (track Four) might be my favorite. What I like about them is that they are like a nice blend of everything that I like. Riffy like Led Zep, chording like classic VH, drive and energy like some of the edgier Grunge bands, Solos that are not trying to be excessive but seem just right. I hope they are around for awhile and have many more albums to come. Brian

I voted Other. I have had the very same Para P14 that I started with for Limited since 1996. I do not own another Limited gun and outside of a few rounds less capacity, I do not need to. It handles and shoots perfectly.

I pulled the trigger and got a decent deal on a 2005 Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 5.3 4x4 with Leather Interior and power everything. I can't wait to see what it will do. I had a mustang that I had just sold and need something more useful and kid friendly. I use to get 21-22 with the Mustang(17 if I played with it) and figured that if I can get 18-19 on the highway then I really will not notice it that much. I will say that it does feel weird being that high while driving. I feel like a kid with a new toy!

I am interested in buying a full size extended cab or crew cab PU, preferably 4X4, and was just wondering what everybodies real world miles per gallon have been? How was it for straight city, mix of city and highway, and straight highway/interstate? Just need a little help to make my mind up one way or another. Thank You. Brian

Some people are having FTE problems because of the power extractor. If you add a few hundred you can get a used edge/eagle or even a used custom built. I have had a Para P14 that I still shoot regularly since 1996 and have never really had a problem with it. If you do buy it remember that, if you do not like it, that Para does not hold their value like other brands.
