  1. The only problem I've ever had with any of the 3 M&P40s I've had was feeding some Semi-Wadcutter-Truncated-Cone lead reloads. I've never had an extraction problem in any of the 7 M&Ps I've had. I also don't case gauge or even chamber check. I load and shoot.
  2. If I were a fish, I'd have jumped into the boat, too!
  3. I think I'm still not doing this correctly and I'm unclear on the two sight pictures. I'm pretty sure the first is when you break the shot. Is the second at the top of the muzzle flip or when it settles back down into the rear sights for the next shot? I can call my shots (when I'm patient enough to wait until I see a decent sight picture), I see the brass leaving, I sometimes see sparks and/or fire leaving the barrel when indoors, but for the life of me I swear I don't see the front sight "lift". To me, it still seems to "jump". The slide obscures my vision of the target and then I see the front sight come back down into the rear. I used to try to follow the front sight all the way up and back down, but that seemed as bad as following the front sight from target to target when I made transitions. Where should my focus be while the muzzle is rising then coming back down? Thanks!
  4. As someone who is now having to watch my lead intake, I'm going to look at the gas buster. If the vented fumes are making it back to your nose, some of the lead from the primer is in those fumes, too.
  5. I was just jerking your chain. I knew you wouldn't leave us out!
  6. LOL! See....I told them not to listen to me! Seriosuly, thanks....I didn't realize the trimmer was resizing.
  7. I'm feeling the love extending eastward!
  8. I took a quick look at the files and they are real database (Sybase) files, so there would be no way to merge them using simple text manipulation in standard editors. I don't know enough about Sybase to try it with other tools.
  9. I'm not qualified to have an opinion, but I do have a question... why go left first then right? At the AMU Junior Camp they told the kids to rotate the gun parallel to the ground wo they could turn their body and run fast when going from right to left. It seems faster than running left to right, so it would seem that it may be faster to make the shorter, first trp to the right, then make the longer transition to the left (unless you have to do a reload without breaking the 180). Here was a pic of Daniel (I think that was his name) doing that:
  10. I would resize before trimming. I frequently (if not always) get a longer length case after resizing. If you trim first and then resize, I would expect that you would get different, and inconsistent, case lengths. I always assumed it was because firing bulges the case outward and resizing squezes it back in (and up). BUT...if Dillon suggested that, I would listen to them before me.
  11. http://www.nroi.org/pressreleases/2008%20NSSF%20IIR.PDF If you right-click on the link and select copy shortcut, you can then paste that into the address bar of your browser and edit it. Since it started with: www.frontsightmagazine.org/www.nroi.org/pres... I tried removing the www.frontsightmagazine.org and it worked.
  12. How did the stage description read?
  13. I can see significant difference between my 2 year old mag springs and the new ones. If you're waiting on a basepad, I've got some extra. PM me your address.
  14. That's a good picture of him on their site, but I like this one better... Brad did a lot to help make last year's Junior Shooters Camp one of the most memorable experiences of my son's 11 years. I sure hope we get to do it again and that he's there.
  15. I couldn't find the details on the history, but some number of years ago, a group was able to create the Church of the Great Outdoors to get around beaurocrats who has shut down an upcoming motorcycle race. http://www.thechurchofthegreatoutdoors.com
  16. Part of the reason I went with carbide Dillon dies was that I don't need to lube the cases (for pistol calibers) before running them through the 550.
  17. My 11 year old started shooting 9mm when he was 9. He now shoots .40s and .45s, too. *NOW* you tell me! All this time I've been wondering why he was rolling around yelling "Contact!"
  18. Riverbend has been cancelled due to weather Pinetucky in Augusta has also cancelled for Saturday's USPSA as has South River in Conyers for what was to be a 3-gun match on Sunday.
  19. Cool! I enjoyed seeing how it should be done in his Greenville match and look forward to watching you guys, again.
  20. From looking at the stage diagrams, I don't think so. The two rifle stages are in the "House" and the "Cowboy Town", neither of which has any real distance. They do appear to have that &^%$ mover setup behind the house, though!
  21. I carry 4, 6 round clips. If the stage has slugs in addition to the birdshot, I prefer to carry the slugs in a different place, eg on the gun or an armband. That helps me keep the separate if I miss and need to load another slug.
  22. I'm too nervous to use a vacuum around spilled powder and lost primers. Compressed air for me.
  23. (at least) 3 of us coming from Augusta. Holy ****, did you look at all the no-shoots? If it weren't for the shotgun stages, I could easily zero the whole match!
