  1. I just shot my first steel match and tried to fly through the stages. The times were horrible. I will be taking the OP's advise from now on.
  2. Good info. I'll be shooting Production instead of Limited in USPSA and SSP instead of ESP in IDPA - all with a compact. I'll try going from a red F/O sight to a green one for a change too.

    Flat Trigger

Correct on the 500% faster, however the flat trigger was too fast for me and I traded it out for the SAO trigger from the 75B SA. I had a couple of negligent discharges with the flat trigger. The new trigger is much better ergonomically for me.
  4. I just shot the Florida IDPA Championship and Joe Buchanan, the Ohio AC, was on my squad. He said that he's having trouble getting clubs to step up to the plate for a state match. He also said that one of two clubs will probably host one in 2013.
  5. I was chatting with Bob Vogel on Facebook a few months back. He said he heard possibly 2013. No other details.
  6. I just received the following email from IDPA: IDPA is excited to announce the dates and location of the 2012 IDPA National Championship. The match is scheduled for September 19th-22nd 2012 at "The Range" in North Carolina. Most of you will find this facility to be familiar to you as it hosts one of the 3 largest IDPA... matches in the country, the Carolina Cup. We are very excited to be partnering with Frank Glover who will serve as match director. Frank has a great reputation for being one of the best match directors in the country, a reputation that is well deserved. We are looking forward to the exciting and challenging stages that Frank and his talented team will put together for our competitors. Keep watching the IDPA website for hotel and other arrangements.
  7. You would have to use them as non-threat targets because of the price. At $33 per target, you can only buy two for the price of a box of 100 cardboard targets.
  8. I bought a CZ 75 Shadow T to shoot specifically in IDPA. Two weeks prior to this year's Georgia IDPA Championship, I picked up a second CZ, a 75B converted to SAO, as my carry gun. It came with a FO front sight and a tactical rear sight. At the last minute, I chose to shoot the carry gun in the Georgia match. It ran like a top until half way though, the rear sight came loose. It took me two stages to figure out why I was missing the distance shots. We fixed it but, by that time, the match was over for me. That being said, I have no problem shooting the 75B in another match.
  9. I bought a pair of thin aluminum grips to try on my CZs. They didn't work for me so I went back to the rubber grips and the thin pair is going to Kalifornia.

    production

    Very profound sir.
  11. I bought a CZ 75 Shadow T from CZ Custom earlier this year. Of course, it was awesome out of the box. That being said, I prefer single action only so after a few months, I ordered the flat single action trigger from CZC and had a local gun smith install it. The only work done was to remove the DA trigger and disconnector and install the new trigger. It's as close to a 1911 trigger that you can get. It is crisp and there is almost no take up. My only issue is that the trigger pull is only 2 pounds. It is too light for me so I'm going back to have springs adjusted in order to make it closer to 4 pounds. The pistol makes weight in ESP with no problem.
  12. Stage 1 is my favorite of the postal match stages I will have to say though... it was not limited and the targets are like 7 yards away why didn't you make it up? It was on the first two targets. I didn't know about the miss until after I was finished.
  13. Thank you for your contribution. My pleasure. Anything for the sport.
  14. I shot ESP/SS with a mediocre time of 70.02. I missed 3 head shots, two on the Standards stage and one on Stage 1 - which I designed .
  15. Be a member of IDPA and volunteer your services to Bubba or Kitty.
  16. You get a pass on this one. Thanks.
  17. Except that Production ain't the "Dark Side", my friend Yeah, you would need one of these for the Dark Side: not a CZ fan but damn that open gun is sexy ...and expensive. $$$
  18. Welcome to the Dark Side. We have cookies.
  19. Here is my CZ 75 Shadow T converted to Single Action Only. Changing out the trigger was the only change done. With the action work done by CZ Custom on the original DA/SA configuration, this change resulted in a 2 lb trigger with very little take up or reset.
  20. Why does sour cream have an expiration date? Why do we drive on a parkway but park in a driveway? Why do they call them apartments with they are all together?
  21. Day before yesterday, I was able to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. I was shooting for ESP/EX and was well on my way until the evil Stage 3 struck.
