  1. Are you going to shoot your reloads in more than one firearm? Black bullets ran great in my Glocks, but not my MPX. Check your loads in all guns before committing.
  2. Buy crushed walnut from Harbor Freight, $23 for 25 lbs.
  3. The penalty for not moving is three seconds. The new Steel Challenge covers movement penalties: 7.4.1 Improper movement or failure to move on stages where movement is required would be considered a procedural and a 3 second penalty applied, per string. Exception for special penalty on Outer Limits, see rule 3.4.1. 3.4.1 Special penalty: A competitor unable to fully execute any part of a course of fire due to incapacity or injury may, prior to making his attempt at the course of fire, request that the Range Master apply a penalty in lieu of the stated course requirement. The Range Master may waive or modify procedural penalties in respect of a competitor who has a significant physical disability prior to the competitor making his attempt at the course of fire. (As an example, a wheelchair bound competitor might shoot all of Outer Limits from the center box without penalty). SCSA_Rule_Book.pdf
  4. Are you seating and crimping in the same station? If the bullet is getting crimped too soon then then it can be deformed when you continue with stroke. Try backing off the seating die a little (and adjusting the seating depth appropriately)to see if that removes the dimple.
  5. I've just started running .40 on my 650 using range brass. I've never sorted brass before and didn't this time. No issues with the .40, but watch for nested 9mm cases. They weren't an issue when I was loading on a 550, but caused issues in the case feeder on the 650. Watch for 10mm cases also.
  6. Para became part of Remington. The Remington R1 is now available as a double stack. https://www.remington.com/handguns/model-1911-r1/1911-r1-limited-double-stack
  7. We went to the Kindle Fire 8. We run them for about 6 hours for a match and have about 50% power remaining. No problem with them washing out in the sunlight. Much more user friendly than the old Nooks we were using. The bloat ware isn't much of a problem. Just combine all of the unneeded files into a folder. Only $49 on sale. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J94SWWU/ref=ods_gw_d_bf_ds_im2?pf_rd_p=2aef4985-49d9-454e-aa33-71a1682995f7&pf_rd_r=F3VJTMVPN8W5N5C1KRDC
  8. What press? If you advance a 550 to soon, you'll get squibs. Short-stroking a 650 will do the same. The most important lesson I learned on a progressive press is: do not try to keep the shell holder full. If you have a bad case, bad primer or other issue - let the empty space advance around the press. When ever I tried to replace a defective case, I ended up having squibs. It also wastes time. Set up a light to see into the cases and check the powder level. Break your ammo into lots, at least until you get your issues worked out.
  9. My ammo generally runs +/- .005. I haven't had any issues. It is only about the thickness of a human hair.
  10. From the match director: We have 300 shooters registered for the NSSF World Rimfire Challenge at Cavern Cove. When we hit 350 the match will be closed and we will not have any registering after that. Please register now if you are planning on shooting the NSSF World Rimfire Challenge.
  11. https://practiscore.com/2017-nssf-world-rimfire-challenge/register Registration is open. The match is being held at the same location as last year. It is a great range and very well run. http://www.caverncoverimfire.com/

  14. 124 MTG, 4.2 Titegroup @ 1.125 for about 135 pf out of a GL 17. Using a coated bullet (124 Blue Bullet or Black bullet) 3.7 gr TG at the same length yields 130-133 pf

  16. No idea what was wrong. They didn't trouble shoot anything. Glock replaced all of the small parts and it worked thereafter. A couple of thousand rounds since rebuild and no problems.
  17. I was having a similar problem. Random stove pipe failures using the same loads I had run for a long time. I sent it to Glock and it was returned in about a week. No problems since then. I did have to rework the trigger, it was returned to factory specifications.
  18. 8.7.1 A competitor is permitted to take a sight picture prior to the start signal. Such sight picture is only permitted no more than one step from the “Make Ready” location.
  19. I bought a victory and enjoy thoroughly. I don't think I have had a problem that wasn't ammo related. It will run about anything I feed it.
  20. https://practiscore.com/2017-nssf-world-rimfire-challenge/register Registration is open. The match is being held at the same location as last year. It is a great range and very well run. http://www.caverncoverimfire.com/
  21. I've had two people tell me the same thing when walking a stage with a CED paster gun in my hand. If I remember correctly, the USPSA rule used to be like the IDPA rule. Some old timers seem to revert to the old rule.
  22. Are you running wet or dry? What media are you using? Thanks
  23. At all matches, safety can not be compromised. Neither can setting up classifiers. Getting someone hurt will do more to hurt the sport than anything. However, for local matches we do make allowances for new shooters and equipment. If a new shooter shows up with the wrong holster set-up or other equipment issues we allow them to shoot - as long as it is safe. We also instruct them in the proper procedures and equipment standards and we will also coach more than is allowed. New shooters are not exempt from safety rules and we have disqualified new shooters for safety violations.
  24. I load 124 MTG at 1.125 and 4.1 TG for an ave. 1090fps/135 PF out of a Glock 34. In range brass with Winchester primers.
  25. I run my 9mm 124 bullets @ 1.125. Including blue bullets. I also use MTG bullets and Bayou with out issue.
