    Ruger PC Carbine

I left original hammer spring in...no light strikes...about 500 rounds, works perfectly so far.

I shoot mostly steel challenge now...the old body doesn't move to well any more...too many replacement parts & more needed...

Mine is A646...started shooting IPSC in 1980 when 1911 .45 was it...then someone brought one with a 6" barrel (hmm... he could load it lighter & still make major) and we were off to the races. Still have my 1984 range officer card...it's a little out of date

    Ruger PC Carbine

I'll remember to keep a straighter arm next time...

    Ruger PC Carbine

I would prefer a stronger spring for the mag release...I accidentally touched the mag release with the back of my thumb near the palm, when switching to weak side during a match this weekend...didn't realize it, took the first shot then nothing...had to reload with new mag...cost me precious time.

I just put the volquartsen trigger kit in & it's really good...the stock trigger is not bad but this is a lot better 2.5lbs with much shorter reset.

    Outer Limits disabled shooter penalty?

Is penalty still at the discretion of the CRO or automatic 3 sec.

Thanks for the reply....looks like the way to go for a nice trigger...I can use the extra parts for my 10/22

When using Volquartsen trigger kit, is it just part replacement or is there polishing etc. involved ?

    Ruger PC Carbine

Thanks for the link...at this stage my life I guess I'm an old dye'd in the wool kind of guy...I tried a venom & fastfire lll ...I did well with them but old railway is faster for me.

    Ruger PC Carbine

I have had one since January and I'm really liking this carbine...Ive been shooting a 10/22 takedown lite for steel challenge & I was hoping Ruger would bring back their carbine. I've only shot a couple of matches with it, but it got me to A class & at 71 I'm proud of that ... your's are the first components I've seen for the Ruger and they look really functional...I'm sure I'm going to get some. I would like to know if you are making the 1/4" cheek weld ...if not who does...I put a CMore on mine & that looks perfect for me. Thanks... edyan A646

    Ruger pc9 trigger

No, apparently some of the internals are the same but configured differently. I'm sure there will be a whole lot of aftermarket components for this carbine real soon...It shoots nicely in stock form.

    Compensators allowed on RFPI

Allchin comps are very effective especially with a 4.5 barrel & high velocity rimfire ...Also have one on my takedown lite & timer always picks up the shot. I'm shooting a Volquartsen upper on a MK2 now & their comp works but not as good as Allchin

    Outer Limits disabled shooter penalty?

It's not about being entitled to a waiver...I know a few super seniors that are in great shape and move really fast that are A class and Master shooters, so it's not about being an old fart ...there is a difference about being able to shoot fast and being able to move fast...7 of the 8 stages currently used for the steel challenge require no movement, it's about pure shooting skills..only one requires movement...at least you so can (sort of ) run on a USPSA course, for those of us who can't and are officially physically disabled, don"t see anything wrong with taking a penalty. It's your choice not to do so...Safety is another big reason..there is more of a possibility that someone with a movement disability trying to move quickly. might trip and fall down with a loaded weapon. My initial post was about the arbitrary penalty's given, not whether there should be one or not. just think it would be good for there to be a standard rule in the book instead of being at the discretion of a range master, then it would be the same wherever you shoot the steel challenge.
