  1. Another vote for JPL Precision. Infact I need to send my open gun to him to get some work done. Check out some of his work at ShootersConnection (forum sponser).
  2. Use what you have and upgrade when you want to make the commitment. This is after all about the fun of the game.
  3. I like the chrono stage, it's a good time to relax. Be sure to look over the weight of the bullet that the chrono people weigh. I had a the last 2 numbers switched on accident. 124.1 to 121.4. I still made major at that but it was close. I also think that all mags should be tested at this time. I have been to several Area matches and they haven't. I even bought a mag gauge to be sure.
  4. Most of the time around here it is the new shooters and I think it is because they are just shy. There are also the ones that are just lazy. I have yelled out a time or two after a few stages of people not helping that if it continues I will not run them through and have the paper guy move them to the bottom. Usually just saying it gets things done.
  5. smokshwn, With the magpuls are you loading to full capacity or 28 on the exposed mag?
  6. I believe that Dave Neth did an instructional on 3gun nation on the transitions. Maybe you can look it up on their site.
  7. COM, center of mass, makes a really nice open 3gun holster and it is what I use for 3gun. I also picked up some of his deep magazine pouches that I have no fear of dropping a mag or gun on a full out run.
  8. Is this possibly more for 3gun with long range targets that are valued more? This is the only time I have ever been asked what the timer says. And for the most part I agree, if you are asking you should just leave it and move on.

    Which comp?

CocoBolo, Is that the TJ one or the standard? Any other suggestions are appreciated.

    Which comp?

Recently my comp broke off in a match, quite a surprise. Anyway now I am looking at all of my options and trying to decide which one to go with. The old one was a marvel comp which I thought did a pretty good job. I have been looking at the Brazos thundercomp 2 and the Dawson Awesome (both of them), but am open to suggestions. The gun is a 5" STI in 9 major. I shoot 124's with autocomp at 172 pf. I am hoping with black thursday I might be able to pick one up on sale. So what say you?
  11. COM is the best I have used. I just talked to them, gave them some dimensions and they sent me a holster that I didn't have to modify at all. Great product and CS
  12. 5 or 6 round max is just silly. Most target arrays are 8.
  13. Thanks Brian, I will try it and get back to you for drill 2
  14. Mike, I appreciate what you are saying but what I am hoping for is a method to develop that connection. Thanks
  15. Are there any drills that will help to master the peripheral vision?
  16. Thanks for the replies. I am assuming then it is something that I have to practice live fire? My splits are in the .2 range which is fine for most things but I am more concerned with what feels like my eyes waiting on my finger. It is like when I aim at a target during a course of fire there is a time lapse of yes the dot is where I want it till when I sqeeze the trigger and then it happens again for the second shot. I am sure that it is all happening very fast but it is something I notice and would like to speed up. I was talking with a very fast local shooter and he was telling me he could take the second shot while the dot was tracking back down from the recoil of the first shot ( not waitng for the dot to settle). I guess what I am asking is are there any training techniqes to speed up this connection from the visual of the dot to my finger? I hope this makes more sense. BTW the local shooter told me it took many many rounds downrange to be able to do this. I am hoping for a more cost effecient way if possible. Thanks
  17. What methods do you use to develop trigger finger speed? I would like to get my splits down a little on the close targets. It seems sometimes that my eyes are waiting on my finger. If I "try" to pick it up alittle I get tense and get trigger freeze. BTW I am shooting open. So what say you?
  18. With my shotgun and 7/8 of 6's at 1300 I can put 2 in the bottom and 1 in the top to finish it or 2 buck to get it to spin.
  19. I like the idea of a prop gun to start, off the clock, although I am not sure how the timer would be started. I think that it would give the shooter some stress. I have been to Ironman the last 2 years and without a doubt the blind stages were my favorite even though my times were not that great. I also got to shoot a 360 bay blind COF's with rifle and then pistol that made the match for me.
  20. What kind of problems are you having that you need to change out the recoil spring so much?
  21. Whiskey1 Is there any way you can gets some pics of the reticle on 1 and 4 power on the same object? I was really hoping to check one out at Ironman but I didn't see them in the vendor's tent. Thanks
  22. I think these should be challenging to the slightly above average not just the GM types and that type of crazy target will get me laughed out of Valhalla! But, at least my belt didn't fall off during a stage AGAIN? Which stage this time?
  23. http://www.oregonshooting.com/cps/default.html Check out this place. I've been there once and it was nice also has the Nosler rifle range too.
