  1. I have been shooting his 185 for years now. I prefer to use VV N320. I usually shoot outdoors so I have not noticed any smoke. If you do not know anyone local that shoots them that would be willing to let you borrow some for testing, then call David he has small quanities for sale for people that just want to try them before they order large amounts. I know David personally and I know that he is working his butt off to catch up, it is just that with some other bullet companies going under and the prices of materials going through the roof his orders have doubled recently with people trying to stock up. He will catch up soon. Give him a call, he will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. As stated above, if he says he will ship in 4 weeks, you will get it in 4 weeks and 3 days from your irritated postal employee.
  2. R.I.P. thanks for your service to us. We need more upstanding public figures such as Mr Heston.
  3. That is going to be hard to do. I bought this gun used and have no idea who did the work.
  4. I already have a new open gun. I just want to get this one repaired for a back-up.
  5. My old open gun slide cracked at the ejection port. I need to see about replacing the slide. I have a Para frame with a accu-railed slide. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that would be willing to do this job, preferably around the Houston area? Does anyone have an idea as to what kind of cost I would be looking at to do this job? If the gun did not have accu-rails it would not be a problem getting the slide replaced. Most gunsmiths that I have talked to do not want to mess with it once they find out about the accu-rails. Does anyone use accu-rails anymore or is this showing the age of my gun?
  6. I have shot his bullets out of my 9mm's, 357 magnum, 40 and 45. I have never had any problems with david's bullets. The main reason for the delay right now is due to a couple of other bullet companies going out of business, his orders have shot through the roof. I know David and I know that he is working harder than ever to get caught up and back on top of all the orders. You will not be sorry if you give them a try.
  7. Varget is the cleanest that I have found for my AR15
  8. Thats cold. Get our hopes up and dash them on the rocks.
  9. I have not had any problems out of my 1100. I have even won overall shotgun for a 3 gun matches. I am not a big 3 gun shooter. I enjoy shooting 3 gun for a change maybe once or twice a year. To each their own. If my 1100 starts giving me problems then maybe I would look for a different shotgun.
  10. Welcome to the club. I was initiated into the club for an AD also. Mine was all my fault. I got on the trigger way to quick straight out of the holster. My round impacted the ground less than 2 feet from my foot. I make sure that my finger is on the side of the slide until I am almost on target now.
  11. Yeah, all of those misses really annoy me. Plus once I saw myself on video I realized that I did not really look good so I might as well slow down. Now all I have to do is get my brain to make me do this once the timer starts.
  12. OUCH, that one hit close to home. Like the joke used to be when I first started, "shoot fast and look good because none of the spectators can see the holes".
  13. I think I heard on the radio the other day that most people are two paychecks away from going bankrupt. That is a scary thought, but I do not doubt that statistic either.
  14. I have a friend that has a old Springfield P9 Open gun in 9X21. As far as I know it uses the same mags as the TZ, CZ, EAA and clones. I want to get him one or two big sticks so he can compete in Open class, but I have not been able to find any place that sells them. I noticed that Henning has big sticks for the large frame, just not small frame. Am I out of luck since this is not a popular Open gun on a small frame? Any help would be appreciated.
  15. It is amazing how good it feels to have shooters come up and thank you for RO'ing a match.
  16. No need to erase it. Worked for my ancestors when they came here legally, and it still works for people who come here legally. For all those folks whose ancestors came her a long time ago, yeah, mine too, but the laws were a lot easier back then...if you got here and you were still breathing, you were in.k It seems kind of simplistic for our ancestors to have come here, change the rules to make it a lot harder, then smugly say, "yeah, well *my* ancestors did it legally..." They still had to come through Ellis Island or another processing place and complete the proper paperwork. Like it or not there are still laws and they need to be enforced. If you do not like the current immigration laws then you should run for office and try to change the laws.
  17. I do agree with not caring for the us vs them mentality. I have not seen it very often, but I have seen it happen.
  18. I think they should be shooters, but I do not believe that there should be a number that has to be met. I would be happier to have it a rule that shooters must be RO's, it may cut down on range lawyers.
  19. Call David at Precision Bullets. He will probably have the information that you need. I have not loaded any 45 in about 5 years so I do not remember what the load was. Go to their web site http://www.precisionbullets.com/ it lists their phone number. David has always taken the time to talk to me when I call.
  20. I used to drive from Houston area every year when San Angelo had the Carter Martin Classic charity match. That was my favorite match of the year. I really miss that match. I always enjoyed charity matches, no pressure and most everyone had a good time with no bickering.
  21. I have no problem with this statement, as long as you do it legally. I have no problems with immigrants. My grandparents were immigrants, they just did it through legal channels. Our problem is the "illegal" part that seems to get skipped over by most supporters.
  22. +1 Nothing better than hanging out with friends and shooting to let off some steam.
  23. Glad to hear the good news. Keep us up to date on the punishment phase.
